Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Hello, everyone
I am obviously new to this forum and it's has taken some courage to write a post asking for help.
I have been doing a lot of reading of forum threads but have not come across any thread dealing with products which would be used for one processing grief over a beloved pet. I did searches on the forums but came up with nothing. I had to put my cat of 12 years to sleep because he had advanced liver disease. It has been 3 months and I still get teary eyed and sad every time I think of him. I miss him so, so much! I have a small altar dedicated to him along with his ashes and photos, but I would like to use some LM products to help me deal with the grief of losing him. I also would like to look for another sweet, healthy cat in the spring/summer of next year and would appreciate any advice on LM products that could help me in this endeavor. I was thinking of Happy Home, Attraction, and Chinese Wash products for a start, but I am open to any other ideas.
Thank you in advance for any and all assistance you can give me.

I've very sorry to hear of the loss of your companion. I would work Healing and Blessing on yourself, or have some vigils dressed in those oils set for you by either the Missionary Independent Spiritual Church, or a member of the AIRR. That will help soothe and heal the hurt - burning some of that incense in your home each day, or diffusing some of those oils in your home in a oil burner is another really good way to keep those healing energies around you.

You may want to work with Saint Francis of Assisi. His description was taken from LM Candles section:
"Appealed to for the health, well-being and protection of all animals; facilitates dream contact between deceased pets and their owners."
http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatcandles.html
In addition to the part of dream contact between you and kitty, you can work with Saint Francis of Assisi to bring another wonderful kitty into your life.
Devi's suggestion of doing Healing work is spot on.
Good luck!

St. Martin de Porres is another saint you can call on. He started an animal shelter and could talk to animals. He is a compassionate, healing saint who is the patron of veterinarians, housekeepers, the poor, and people of African and mixed heritage.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
I wanted to post an update to my situation from last year. I petitioned St. Francis of Assisi daily for about six months for his assistance in helping me to find the perfect kitten to come into my life and home. I burned up the ethers with many prayers and offerings of incense, flowers and candles. I also read an extensive biography on St. Francis of Assisi in order to be more familiar with this saint which helped me to create a more solid spiritual bond with him. I found a local cat rescue group that gave me a lot of support and eventually led me to a volunteer that had rescued a female cat with a litter of kittens. In July of this year, I picked a male orange and white kitten with a very sweet personality who is an excellent companion. In thanksgiving, I donated money to a Franciscan organization as well as an animal welfare organization. To all those who are grieving the loss of a beloved animal companion, I highly recommend praying to St. Francis and making simple offerings to him. He is a very kind saint and will help anyone who is sincere. As an interesting side note, I was gardening in the back yard and happened to look up and saw my cat that had passed away 7 months previously walking by my patio looking quite healthy. He looked solid, not transparent. I truly believe that St. Francis took pity on me and "arranged" this sighting in order to put my mind at ease.

Hi Gardenkitty21
I am happy to hear that you got to know and get close to St. Francis and approach this in a dedicated way.
In my work I find this saint to be very understanding and generous to work with when it comes to all kinds of animals and especially the relationship between human and animals. ( wether they are alive or on" the other side")
Good luck and blessing to you and your new little fury- friend!

Hi, Miss Benedikte
Thank you for the kind words; I appreciate them very much. I truly hope that others can benefit from my testimonial for St. Francis. He is indeed a "bridge" between human and animals and I highly recommend petitioning him for this type of work.
Blessings to all.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
I had a very special relationship with my cat who we had to put down a few years ago. She would only sit on my lap, and she knew clearly when people were bad or good (wouldn't go near my former stepfather- bad guy, ex-boyfriend before marriage (also a bad guy), but loved my husband.
She had great instincts. When she passed, we had her cremated and still have the ashes. Is there a way to incorporate her into my magickal work, since she was such a great guide during her lifetime with me? It would be great to harness her instincts for different things.
Thanks!

Hi masteredfate,
you can most definitely use your cat's cremains in your workings. You can keep some on your ancestor's altar if you have one, you can use a pinch in mojo bags or spells of protection or success that you make for yourself, you can use some in sachet powders you mix and those are just a few ideas. This is a very strong link to the wonderful friend you had in life who can continue to help you from the other side.
The following forum thread has useful information you can read through as well:
graveyard-dirt-collection,-purchase,-uses-t5465.html (page 1, page 8 - posts from April 5th 2010 entitled ''spellcasting using ashes of pet?'')
Blessings.

I have a pet and animal altar with the ashes of our late cat, Smokey. It also has figurines of animals, St. Nicholas and St. Martin de Porres, and a depiction of Jesus meditating among animals.

Recently one of our cats has to be euthanized in the home due to a persistent illness. I was wondering what needs to be done after a pet has passed on especially in the home?

Good Evening, Cortana,
I am so very VERY sorry for the loss of your beloved cat.
I am not sure about your concerns here with your post. What are your concerns? Keeping the spirit away? Keeping the spirit with you? Helping the cat to pass over? Worried about being haunted?
Please let us know so that we can give you clear answers.
Again, my sympathies.

I need to know if and how I should cleanse the house of any residual energy left behind after a pet has passed. Just to ensure that it doesn't prevent the home from receiving luck and blessings.

Hello, Cortana,
I would wash the house down with Chinese Wash www.luckymojo.com/chinesewash.html
Then, I would spray any clutter (and hard-to-get places and corners with Florida Water www.luckymojo.com/floridakanangawater.html
Then, I would incense the entire house with Tibetan Ghost Purging Incense www.luckymojo.com/tibetanghostpurgingincense.html
And then I would follow up by "sealing" any places that can be opened (like doors, windows) with Fiery Wall of Protection oil so that spirits cannot re-enter.
www.luckymojo.com/fierywall.html
I hope this helps. I know that it does for me
Wishing you the best

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
When we lost our black cat to CRF (had to have him euthanized) in 2011, I made certain that they saved several vials of black cat hair - he was such a love and a good disposition, he will be only used for special work for us only. Fortunately there is a place in SoCal that specializes in pet aftercare and when we took him there (they will pick up also 24/7) they set him up in a viewing room that was a very nice floral altar, much like a human viewing room. It was awful and wonderful at the same time. They made sure I had plenty of vials of hair and took a pawprint. The eerie thing was, we told them he still had a collar on, but they probably didn't see it because it would have been hidden by his fur -- when we got the cremains, the heart-shaped aluminum tag with his name on it, charred and ripped but still whole, was there with them, and you could still read the metal stamp. It is a very important piece to me and definitely part of my workings.
Our current black cat provides tons of hair (he's a double-coated breed) and is much more cantankerous, so I'd definitely use his fur for cats-and-dogs jar work!

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Hello,
A beloved pet passed away he was half wolf named Simon.
So I have been in a divorce situation. My exhusband has his ashes because it is a he said she said situation which he said that I have him, which I do not. The thing is that my ex was very physically abusive to not just myself, but Simon as well. I was seeing if it would be possible to separate remotely a spirit from their remains. If Simon stays around him I am afraid of what dark energies the creature would encounter as well as staying in a state of fear for having to be around my ex. I know he didnt leave because I felt him in our house long after he had passed. I am willing to sacrifice any connection with Simon in order to achieve his safety and happiness. This creature deserves to be in a good place as he was so strong and loving in a hell hole. Any knowledge for such a thing would be greatly appreciated.

Hello ladyred
I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your companion. I would work Healing and Blessing on yourself first.
www.luckymojo.com/blessing.html
I would also look into SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI products http://www.luckymojo.com/saintfrancis.html
He is appealed to for the good health, well-being, and protection of all animals, and for facilitating dream contact between beloved deceased animals and their grieving owners.
This will help you and Simon.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
I am dealing with the death of my very best friend in the world
Which was one of my dogs.
And I am finding it difficult to have compassion for the other animals in my care
I am giving them their requirements, with much less love and they know it
If I had never allowed myself to obtain more dogs, I feel I would of been more attentive to my best friend
So though it is not their fault, I still look at it that way
And when the dog was alive I shared my love for her with the others
I am not doing that now
They know and are also grieving too
And these are not the kind of dogs to find easily a good home for
They will be with me but I have got to develop feelings for them
Otherwise it is a thankless job
I am so angry with myself for many reasons, and do not want to stop grieving
I know I have got to correct this soon
Is there someplace to begin?

Hello, Patrah ,
I am sorry for the loss of your pet. I know exactly what you are saying as I have experienced the EXACT same feelings that you have.
Please start with healing spells on yourself to take away the pain, the grief and the depression
Here are the products:
http://www.luckymojo.com/healing.html
Also, please don't do this after each sentence (..........)
Just put one period after each sentence. I have edited your post to make it correct. But this is a BIG job for the moderators.
Take care

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Part of my issue is that I know I have got to heal and I do not want to.
I almost feel that to heal is abandoning the relationship with this animal.
I have been through grief and mourning of pets.
And people.
This animal meant the world to me.
So heal I must.
I honestly believe that when I deal out what I owe to the two people who wished harm on my animals, I may heal better.
Again the issue with that is that on the one hand I know that healing brings clarity.
On the other hand one school of thought advocates waiting til you are calm and until those targets have forgotten what they or you have done before sending curses their way.
Another school of thought says strike while the iron is hot.
Meaning to me to go after them while the anger is writhing within.
So here i am looking for how to handle this.
I have ideas of some things I want to try.
I do not know that they are tried and true, because they are what the spirit told me.
I want results.
And little to no room for error.
I just have not figured how much pain I need to get up out of me for these very bad people.

Hello Patrah,
I'm so sorry you lost your pet
I can't imagine how I would deal with that happening to my furry friend.
If there are people who wished harm upon your pet, I think you have every right to reverse all that evil back onto them and then curse the hell out of them, while keeping protection up on yourself.
You can read more about Reversing work here: http://www.luckymojo.com/reversing.html
And curses here: http://www.luckymojo.com/spells.html#black
If they physically hurt your pet, CALL THE POLICE. That is a crime. Then take the magical course of action.
As for healing after the death of your pet, be gentle with yourself. Your grieving process will end when you're ready for it to end. Don't pressure yourself to move on if you're not ready. Feel your sadness, and move on when you think it's time.
Take care.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
I will be looking for products to help with this when finances settle which is one reason why I need to finish that business to move on to better things.
I am not malicious by nature and when I am malicious it is because someone has done me very wrong.
I caught the one group chasing my dog with sticks, after they let her out.
It was the same week as the Asian dog killing festival.
When I addressed it, the girlfriend of one of the men said the dog was coming in their house downstairs from me.
I told her that it would be easier for them to shut the door rather than getting two drunk men with sticks to chase her out of her own yard.
Then the one man said he would kill my dog.
I assured the man he did not want to die like that and I meant it.
I should of told him to kill himself if he knew what was good for him.
The good that came out of it was I had been stuck trying to move for 5 years, and got out of there within two weeks.
The other person, a frienemy posed as my friend all of the three times I inadvertently got back in touch.
My bad.
I always said though that even though I knew she was angry and spiteful much of the time and tried to aim it to me, if I ever had to give up animals, I would give them to her because of her love for them.
Now I know she values nothing, which will make cursing her difficult.
I will figure it out.
In reversing though I would never wish harm on her pets, but rather let her know that I will take her pets because surely when I am done, she will have no ability to care for anyone or anything and I have no desire to harm her animals.
My son believes I will reap what I sow.
I am fighting for my peace of mind.
She also wished him and all my family dead.
When my friend the vet who is her vet too, heard what I read she wrote, she deleted it because he must of to,d her that her words could be considered a death threat.
So,she is a fraud.
My son and others say let her deal with her God and her indiscretions.
I assure you and him that she could care less about some godly intervention.
A friend said pray for her she is doomed.
I said if she is doomed I will not waste my prayers, but rather do her the dirt, and pray for my own forgiveness before and after.
So I will heal slowly because I want to remain here.
I went to my room to sleep for the first time and could smell my dog though it had been almost two months since she was in my room.
I had a headache and did not sleep.
So I remain sleeping in the car like I did camping out with her the last month with me.
So I got chalk, daisy stickers, toilet paper, a turtle bank and some roots and blood from my dead dog which I will add dragons blood to and make ink and some other stuff.
One of the men's dog had gotten out weeks before I petted it and shared my dogs food with it.
In return he helped the other man chase my dog.
That dog took on a lot of my problems and made them her own.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
The love of my life, Tesla the Siamese cat passed a while back (I have lost recollection of the days, a lot of details are a blur), she is and remains the love of my life and I am willing to do anything to make her soul and spirit return to me. I have found a pregnant mother who is very similar to my beloved Tesla, and she is about to give birth in around a week.
What can I do, can someone please please help her find her way into a little girl in the mommy I have found?
I would be forever grateful. I live in Malmö, Sweden and need your help.
Thank you so much

Hello torbjornjoh,
Welcome to the Lucky Mojo forum. If you want to, you're welcome to introduce yourself under the introductions thread.
I'm so sorry about your cat. I'm a cat lover, and I understand how devastating it is to lose a furry friend.
If you want to keep the spirit of your cat close, you could create a small altar to honor her spirit, but of course I can't guarantee that her spirit will enter another cat. We just can't control things like that. But you can light a candle for her dressed with Blessing oil on the altar, next to a picture of her and a small amount of her favorite food, and pray that she will be at peace.
http://www.luckymojo.com/blessing.html
You can also use some Healing products for yourself, to heal your heart:

Take care, I hope you feel better.
P.S. I see that you're new to the forum, but you should know that posting new topics is against forum rules. Next time you have a question, please find the thread that best fits with what you're asking (you can use the search box at the top right of the screen), and post your question at the end of it by clicking "post reply." Thanks!

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Hello sister jean,
thank you for the welcome, I am just so filled with sorrow that I do not function very well. I still love her so.
I have a candle burning for her every night with a little representation of her (a cat figurine), and her favorite toys hanging in a star in the window, with lanterns that are lit around the clock. I pray so for her to return through mommy farrah.
Sorry for posting like that, I am just trying to find help for her to return to me.
Thank you

Hello, torbjornjoh ,
I am so very sorry for your loss.
I lost my female dog 3 years ago and my male 2 year ago. I am still not over it. I still cry all the time. I have 3 dogs at home but the 2 that I lost? They were my soul mates.
BUT I would NEVER attempt to call their Spirits back into another body. Their Spirits need to progress. In fact, I don't even ask that they come and visit me. I gave them wonderful homes and they were self-actualized. So, it's God's will that their Spirit progress.
There's and old saying: "If you love him/her, let them go. If he/she were meant to be, then he/she will return"
I know that your soul hurts. I know exactly how you feel. But, trust me, time will heal the wounds and this upcoming kitten will bring you a different joy.
Praying for your peace of mind.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Hello,
I am not sure if this question belongs here... but this seemed to be the best place to post it.
I have recently acquired two rabbit fur pelts. These were not pets, and I do not know anything about the history of the animals or their life.
Both spoke to me and I felt a very deep connection. I felt a bit conflicted because I do not advocate animal cruelty, but I also see the immense power in working with natural curios. I believe that these came my way for a reason and I would like to honor the life and spirit of these beautiful animals.
How do you suggest blessing, honoring and thanking the spirit of these animals for their fur?
When I first received them I held them, touched them reverently, and said a prayer of thanks to their spirits. I considered feeding them with some incense as an offering. But any other suggestions or specific instructions are welcomed.
Thank you!
Shaheen

Hello, Shaheen,
You can light candles for them, give them fresh water, and maybe put out whatever rabbits eat ( like lettuce, carrots, etc).
That is so very lovely that you are honoring them.
I might also add that you pray that their Spirits are free and happy. Tell them how you feel about them
take care

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Friends, I know there are many animal lovers on this forum and I thank you for it. I am a lifelong animal advocate and loving mother to my beloved pets.
I lost my beautiful five year old cat last week suddenly and unexpectedly due to an infection, and I am devastated. He died while at the vet's office receiving treatment overnight (we did not know the extent of his illness), and I am haunted by knowing his last hours were not with me.
I brought his body home and blessed it with rose petals, prayed over him. I took him to be cremated with a mass card of St. Francis. I have his ashes at home with me now. Do you have suggestions for an altar where I can honor him and speak to him? I will keep praying to St. Francis. I told him every day how much he was cherished, but I devastated that I was not with him and did not know he was so sick until it was too late. Can he hear me prayers now, do you think? We also have another cat left behind who is grieving the loss of his beloved brother.
I will be so grateful for any suggestions to help us find healing from a loss that is so tragic for us. <3

Hello TygerTyger,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, that is so sad. That's lovely that you are doing so much to honor him and I think what you have planned sounds wonderful. If you want to create an altar, just make it a simple, contemplative space with candles and a glass of water, a place where you can pray for him. I wish you peace and serenity during this tough time.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
I have a question about honoring the memory of a kitty who has passed on. Her name was Parvati, and she slept in my arms every night, and years later, I still miss her. I cannot describe her spirit-- she really was a once in a lifetime kitty.
When she died, I had her cremated, and found a nice place to bury her ashes. The place that processed her ashes also gave me her paw prints in plaster.
Well, yesterday, I found the plaster piece and I don't know why this has happened, but it has pretty much disintegrated. I swept the dust and pieces into an envelope and they now rest on my altar. I don't want to throw them away because her paws once touched this plaster, and... well it doesn't feel right. I would like to do something that will contain these pieces in a more permanent and meaningful way-- maybe a reliquary? Something that will honor her spirit and the life we had together but that won't crumble away? I can't just throw them away.
Thank you in advance for any inspired ideas.

Hello Madame Jupitero,
You could put the pieces into a memorial container and keep that on your altar. There are other ideas in the posts above yours, so read through them and adapt to suit your needs and wishes.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

I'm curious if there is anyone at Airr that has an affinity /specialty with contacting deceased pets ...pet mediumship if you will.
My fur baby recently passed over and I'm trying to sort through it all ! I read through this link...and am inspired to further work with Saint Francis of Assisi . Looking for someone who can assist in pet contact in the psychic realms..
Thank you so much

Hello Sapmoss,
I would contact the AIRR members directly and ask them. We don't have "working with pets" as an individual category within the listings, so you would have to manually search the members by asking them individually.
Here is the link:

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Firstly, deepest gratitude for everyone's contributions to this thread. They are really helpful! St. Francis has been helpful for us to work with also.
My girlfriend and I recently lost our beloved cat of 11 years. He was more than a cat but a close companion and friend to us both. We are doing candle work with St. Francis and Healing oils to help with our grief, as well as praying that he is at peace.
My main question though, is what is the best way to handle his memorial and ashes? We have had him cremated. Is it best to scatter his ashes or bury them? And should it be near our home, or better to lay him to rest in another place we believe hh would like and find beautiful? Or should we keep any/all of his ashes in our home? We live on an apartment and cannot really bury him in our yard, and might eventually move.
Also, is it better for him to move on from us, or to invite him to stay in our home as a spirit? I assume it is better for him to move on and be at peace?
I am not as concerned with using his ashes for workings, but just focused on giving him peace and helping his spirit.

Hello Alex Regenerate,
I am sorry you are mourning the loss of your beloved pet. They do become part of the family, and I know from experience how deeply the loss can be felt. I'm sure he appreciates the wonderful life you helped him live.
What you do with his ashes is a personal choice and has nothing to do with hoodoo. Where you put his ashes is another personal choice. Search your heart and consult with your girlfriend and you will find the best solution for you both, and one that will make your cat's spirit happy.
As for whether to invite his spirit to stay or move on, personally I would choose the latter but that is another decision you would have to make for yourself.
I wish you the best with whatever choices you make.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
I'm grateful for this thread, and I could use some guidance. My beautiful adopted cat passed on Saturday. I am drowning in waves of grief. It feels like having a really bad stomach virus, but in my heart and soul. It's physical pain, nausea, burning, bewilderment, and it comes from somewhere so deep down in sudden floods and swells. But then, I get this warm, sunny feeling, like he is still here with me and immediately the grief abates and eases. I have tried so hard not to let my earthly troubles influence him, and I want to give him the choice whether to stay or cross over. His history: he appeared to me in 2011 as a stray, just after I bought an old house to fix up. He's been the heart of this place- it did not feel like a home until he arrived, and he has always been very engaged and interested in everything going on. He was always in the middle of the home improvements, he went with me from room to room, and we spent so many happy nights together just watching low brow TV shows, eating treats, cuddling, and being together. Every sunbeam had to be slept in. Every chicken or roast cooking, he'd be there sitting in front of the oven, waiting. Ever since he passed, I keep having those moments of warmth and happiness, as if he's choosing to be here and does not want to cross over. If that it so, I do not want to chase him away. I want to send him the message that this is still his home for as long as he would like it to be, and I love him eternally, but I want whatever will make him happy. What kinds of products can I use to make him feel welcomed and loved, but free?

Hello snorklecat,
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved cat. It really is amazing how close the bond can be with our furry little companions, and how deep our grief when they pass.
Your cat probably already knows that he is free to stay on the other side, but is visiting you to let you know he is never far from you. If you would like to encourage deeper communication with him, consider working with Spirit Guide products, such as the oil dressed on a candle burned on his photograph. This may help him to become a helpful and reassuring spiritual guardian to you as you move forward in life.
Spirit Guide: https://www.luckymojo.com/oil-spirit-guide.html
I use this often when working with my spirit guides, and it may help you as well.
Good luck.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Hi, all!
There is a person who is lying to and on me, harming me, and just generally trying to swing public opinion of me because I did not let them abuse me. I removed them from my life but they are still harassing me. I am trying to do a baneful working on them, but I want to know if using my (black) cat's former ashes on them would be appropriate. I also have some of my black cat's hair. She passed suddenly last year, but was fairly old. I am afraid that I will either ruin the working or insult my cat by using her ashes. Does anyone have any info or help with this?

Hi Sailorgoon,
You can use your cat's ashes if she protected you and was loyal to you. Black cat bones are also associated with invisibility. Lucky Mojo Curio Co also sells Stop Gossip supplies and Fiery Wall of Protection Kits.
Here are some links to better help you:

Thank you so much! I'm specifically doing a vinegar jar—so I wanted to make sure containing my cat's ashes in there, along with other vengeful herbs, would not disrupt the jar.

Hi Sailorgoon,
A vinegar or sour jar to distroy someones life. If you were using ashes of your cat, I would used them for protection, to hide me. If your cat really hated the person and hiss them it could add some umph. You should focus on the end goal. Do you want them shut up, go away, do you want their life soured, or do you want to protect yourself from slander?
Best of luck,
Mr. Christopher

Do you want them shut up, go away, do you want their life soured, or do you want to protect yourself from slander?
Best of luck,
Mr. Christopher

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Hello Everyone-
I haven't been on here for about two years. I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this. Two years ago, I did a Venus love spell to catch the attention of a neighbor. It was a spell that I found on a different site that is a spiritual supply store for hoodoo/rootwork. I was a novice and follow instructions as best I could. I freestyled a bit and used hot honey instead of regular honey. I want to reiterate that I was a novice with good intentions, and I meant no disrespect. Venus gives no grace. She gave me BV so severe that I had to do two rounds of antibiotics. The guy I was interested in immediately lost interest in me and started chasing another woman. He went from flirty to repulsed by me.
A couple months later, Venus spoke to me. If anyone has heard her speak, she has a calm whispery baby voice. She told me she gave me BV because of the hot honey. Something about auric indigestion. I was SO nice and deferential to her. I was respectful to her. She kept going with the punishment. Men were uninterested in me. This had previously not been an issue. It was unfortunate; however, I did have a beautiful companion - my dog who was my best friend and soul mate. She was the kind of dog that everyone loved. She made everyone around her feel special and seen. She was a talker and had a lot to say to her human friends. She had a ton of dog friends as well. She was loved by me and so many others.
Fast forward, after 1.5 yrs of downright abuse and torture from Venus I was fed up and called her a “C U Next Tuesday." If you don't get it, take the first letter of each word and put it together. Immediately after this, I started to have a flair up that was consistent with an auto immune disease. Venus didn’t stop there though. She knew that the one thing I loved the most was my sweet dog. My rescue that I got in college. She was no spring chicken, but her recent bloodwork was great and this gave me a recent baseline for her health. Her breed has a very long lifespan. About 4 weeks after I called Venus the c-word, my sweet girl started having good and bad days. She was deteriorating and having strange episodes. 6 weeks after the comment, she became gravely ill. The vet took x-rays and found had cancer everywhere (metastatic cancer.) Some may say that cancer in dogs cannot spread that quickly. It can. There's a cancer that is found in dogs that is called hemangiosarcoma and it moves very fast. Unrelated to the cancer was damage to multiple organs. They were failing and she had an infection. She was hospitalized at the vet and received supportive care. She bounced back and was her normal self for a couple of days. 1 week after the hospitalization, her symptoms came roaring back. The vet did an ultrasound of her gut and saw a large black mass that wasn’t there a week prior. The vets told me that this was the end of the road and that euthanasia was the right thing to do.
Fast forward. *Trigger Warning* My dog had the catheter in, so the euthanasia drugs could be injected. I was saying my goodbyes. My sweet girl was clinging to me. I could feel her heart rate surging as if her heart was being attacked. I knew that Venus was present and torturing her as I was about to put her to sleep. It wasn’t enough for Venus to give her cancer and make her organs fail. She had to ruin my last moments with my best friend and soul mate. The vet comes in and my dog is laying down, in pain. She is ready to cross the rainbow bridge. The vet is about to inject the sedative and my dog stands up. My dog glares at me in disgust and it was not her. I could tell by her eyes that it was not her; it was Venus. The vet injects the sedative and my dog collapses on the floor. Then the final drug. Venus killed my dog.
This happened about 6 weeks ago. I am in excruciating pain. I wake up expecting to see my sweet girl and she’s not there. When I get home from work, I’m excited to see my dog then I realize that she’s gone. I have flashbacks of what happened. What Venus did was animal cruelty. My dog was an innocent, living creature. Venus caused long term suffering of an innocent creature to punish me. Venus stripped my dog of her dignity. I want to warn everyone. She is not your friend. She doesn’t care about you and she is not “fair.” She is mercurial and cruel. If you insult her (after she torments you) and she decides to attack your pets, God *will not* bail you out. Jesus WILL NOT bail you out. I prayed to Saint Francis and Saint Roch to no avail. I became a Catholic earlier this year which has been short lived because they didn’t save my sweet girl or stop the misfortune and attacks. My prayers went unanswered. Every single one of them.
I am not afraid of Venus. She has no leverage now that my best friend is gone. The misfortune continued after the passing of my dog. Car trouble that was extremely expensive to fix followed by my phone crapping out, conflict with my family (removing my support system), mysterious illness, and now my business is tanking in a terrible job market. I tried to get another dog, but couldn't bond. I'm worried that she'll kill the next one. I don’t have anything left to lose and I have no future.

Re: Death of a Pet - Grief, Burial, Ashes, Spiritual Work, Altar
Dear PatronumNikki,
I am very sorry to hear of the death of your dog. Take some time to reach out to her in spirit and ask her to lead you to a new pet, if such is to be. Ask her to show you a sign.
The case of BV from using a love spell made with "hot honey" (honey with inflammatory hot pepper in it) makes sense. I have heard of similar things before.
I want to speak on behalf of Venus. I have worked with her and other Pagan deities. Venus is not inherently evil. In fact, she is called "beneific" by astrologers and was widely worshiped by the ancient Romans. She is luxury-loving, sensual, and bountiful, but her name, which means "charm" or "love-charm," also shares the root of the words "venerate" (she likes to be venerated) and "venom" (because love-charms can kill).
The gods and goddesses will never bless those who curse them. Going through life hating a deity is not a good idea. I have known people who have gotten on the wrong side of various deities, including Freya, Eleggua, Kali, and Saturn. The results have been harsh at times. When you called Venus that disrespectful name, you got on her wrong side. It may be too late, or the damage may have gone too far for you to even want to make peace with her, but you could try. Her flowers are roses and myrtle. A simple vase of roses and an apology for misusing her name may convince her to stop cutting you down, and perhaps a promise to honor and respect her from now on will bring back your luck and joy.

PatronumNikki,
I would also add that Venus's colours are green and soft pink, her metal is copper and her stones include malachite, rose quartz, emerald, and watermelon tourmaline. She also likes coral. Floral honey is also a good offering for her. Seeking an allyship with her might be better in the long run than hating on her.
