I found LM back in 2006, and did try to use some of the information generously supplied by Cat to create some items. (a mojo bag for husband, related to a court case... as well as some "poppets" also related to that case) Well, it's all starting to finish up, and yes, in his favor, so I am ecstatic about that. As well as very very grateful for Cat's sites, especially the online book.
I came back recently because I am looking for some serious stuff for a job.... and decided to buy the products from Cat rather than try to make them myself this time. I do have several samples of graveyard dirt I bought from our cemetary, but felt that attempting to make my own Goofer dust would be not as effective as buying it from an experienced rootworker. While I was buying at LM, I got a little out of hand, found myself buying lots of items, including Cat's book and am beside myself with giddiness waiting for them to arrive.

So, I have been reading about and practicing magic since '96 or so, though I must admit to a lifelong interest in the occult and divination...I am a huge tarot history freak, and love almost everything related to tarot. Started out very into the "Goddess" movement, which is and was hugely popular in the Bay Area where I was living back then, and have found myself more and more drawn to Ancestor veneration, African Vodun, Haitian Vodou, as well as African American Hoodoo and Root work... but really, folk magic of any type draws me much more than any type of Wicca or ceremonial stuff.... I love to read about it, I love to collect information and stories about it, and especially love the crafting aspect of it, the arts of it, so to speak and feel like I have always been naturally drawn to it. In fact, many years ago, while still trying to be a good witch (ie adhere to the "rede" which basically tied my hands to do much of anything), I created and enacted a poppet spell, which was so against all that I knew, but I absolutely knew I had to do it that way, and hey, it worked better than any of the spells I had ever done at that point... and it all came from my own mind, as I was woefully uneducated at that time in these practices. Over the years, after having gotten my hands on some great and informative books on the related subjects, I found to my surprise that I had somehow intuitively created that work along some very traditional lines... I still have no idea how I managed to do so, but to me it just felt natural and made perfect sense.
I hope to be able to share with you here, and get to know some of you, and if you have read this entire post, I thank you for your time and patience! (I usually never make posts this big! But I thought I should give some background info about what brought me here etc) I am originally from New England, and am trying to not stick out like a sore thumb in northern California.
