Hi Everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself. I live in Utah and have a very deep interest in Conjure, Rootwork, Hoodoo. I used to have a friend who owned a shop and used to help him in the shop a lot. I learned a lot from him and this is where I developed a keen interest in Rootwork.

I'm a student of all things occult and am an initiate of a coven practicing Traditional Witchcraft. That's Non-wiccan/non-neo-pagan for those unfamiliar with the term. I also have an extensive background in Hinduism as an initiate in an authentic line of Tantra Kaula Shaktas in the Vama Marga.

My goal is to learn as much as possible from everyone here and give whatever input I can. I also want to go through the Hoodoo Course offered by Cat and understand she wants to get to know prospective students first.

Welcome to the forum metanoia! You can start your learning by reading cat's online book, Hoodoo in Theory and Practice: An Introduction to African-American Rootwork (http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodoo.html) and purchase cat's book Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic found here (http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodooherbmagic.html). Both are great reads and you will learn a lot. Keep learning...it is a lifelong endeavor.

You will probably see many items that seem very familiar and others that are brand new! Enjoy!

Thanks everyone,

I used to work at a friend's shop a few years ago and learned a lot about the type of Folk magic he did as a Santero and Palero. I've purchased Cat's "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic" (Materia Magica) book and just got it yesterday. I've also stated reading "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice: An Introduction to African-American Rootwork" online. I'm excited to learn from you all. If anyone knows of any other good resources please pass them on. I'm like a sponge that can't reach it's limit.

Thanks for the tip on the Terms & Conditions.

I actually bought Cat's book from Lucky Mojo rather than on Amazon so I could start that relationship. Also why I joined the forum. Not to mention all the learning opportunities here.

Peace
