I'm a writer, so I'm going by storyteller here. It seems like a smart and helpful group here, so I'm hoping you might get me on the right track as I've got a situation on my hands and I need some advice on how to best handle it.

Long story short, I've got either a spirit haunting my bedroom or a big vibrating ball of bad mood. It's gotten so that I can't sleep in my bed with husband, which is not making me very happy at all. I've done some banishing borrowing from Ceremonial Magic - the LBPR, a banishing hexagram ritual, and done an uncrossing more than once and done cleansing spells almost daily. I've used black cat wash on the walls and I've got some reversal wash that I've been having evaporate (it's really, really dry in there.) I've even tried having a few conversations, friendly, firm and threatening, and it's not going anywhere. While posting garlic and sprinkling aesfoetida dents the influence, it doesn't remove it.

I had two practitioners come in, both men - one thought it was all in my head, and the other called in a female friend, who sensed what I did without being prompted, so we figured out whatever it is only goes after females and thus is only really sensed by females. I don't think it's an incubus; it definitely doesn't want to do anything carnal to me, and it wants me out, which is not flying since I was there first.

What a friend suggested is that I create a spirit trap using a gourd. I have the gourds, and I guess the choice is either killing it or pinning it in place and then putting it somewhere.
I'm looking for more information on how to do this, and if someone has done this, your comments would be appreciated. Right now I'm concerned with the basics:

How do I get it to go into the gourd in the first place?
Do I need to cut the top off the gourd, so there's a sort of lid I can close?
Do I just leave the knife in the gourd forever?
How do I dispose of the gourd? Do I dispose of the gourd?

I don't know if anyone else has done this kind of work, I'm thinking there's a reasonable chance here.

I hope that you are able to find the help you seek. It might be helpful to private message members you feel may be willing to share info on this, or to make it known that you welcome replies via PM.
While I'm not knowledgeable of the specific info you seek, I felt compelled to advise you to use rosemary and Fiery Wall of Protection on your person when in the room and to prompt you to ask yourself, is there the possibility this is attached in some way to your husband? Not as in fault, but... connected?

Hmm, an interesting experience. The LBRP is actually not intended to be a banishing ritual. I know, I know, but its the Lesser *Banishing* Ritual of the Pentagram, but the ritual that most people know is both incomplete and used incorrectly. The Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram is an elemental spell not designed to deal with cthonic spirits. People who claim they use either to clear out spirits are mistaken or unintentionally acheiving the result. I shall halt myself from going into the mechanics of High Magick and its secrets before I get carried away.

A few points. First, a spirit trap is created in a similar method as a spirit bottle. The latter is intended to get a familiar spirit to aid you in your daily work, while the second is intended to trap and control negative spirits and harmful energies. (Can also be used against a person traveling in spirit-form. Works well). There are a few different ways of creating a spirit trap including runic, but we'll stick with conjure and LM products since this is their forum. Light a white candle anointed with FWP oil, 711 Holy Oil will also work well. Get any container, a gourd works really well. Fill this with Salt, sprinkle with Hyssop and add Mullein, I'd anoint it with Van Van oil while praying to have the gourd to have the power to hold a spirit in it. On the top of the gourd on the inside place a print out or hand draw Seal of Solomon to hold the spirit in. Toss in some Witch Grass and and Knotweed to bind it in the gourd. Then place this on your floor and burn some Run Devil incense with Mullein. Command the spirit to enter the gourd trap in the name of God and keep commanding until you feel the presence enter the gourd, you'll actually feel a difference. Place the top on the gourd, seal with white candle wax and toss in a river over your left shoulder. You can also try and put it to rest by burying at a graveyard. Purify your house by burning Blessing incense and Sage. Ask the Sage to clear out your house and drive all residue away. Wash down your house with Chinese Floor Wash and anoint your windows and doors with Firey Wall of Protection.

Thanks so much for the input from both of you! I've wondered about the LBPR - there is a book that explains what it's for, and I'm finding it banishes psychic blocks more than anything else, and the LBRH is more for physical issues (so I can walk and chew gum, apparently.) I did wind up consulting a shaman, and it's been deemed unnecessary for me to trap anything at this time, although there is still clearly work that must be done.

That said, there is some metaphysical stuff happening to me as byproduct of aging, according to the shaman I consulted, so firey wall of protection and keeping ConjureMan's instructions onhand both sound like a good ideas. I don't use DEET when a bit of citronella does the trick, but if I can't live my life, I will step it up (speaking metaphorically here.)
