Hello from Maryland!

Well, I say Maryland, because that's where I live now, but I'm a Kentucky girl by birth and still think of that as my home state. Though Maryland is nice too! We moved out here to be closer to my partner's parents in Baltimore.
I've been lurking around the forums and site for a long time--so much information! It's really been a pleasure to read. My great-grandmother was what my mother always called a witch, but from the stories I've heard it seems to me like she was more likely to be a root-worker instead. She sewed funeral clothes for the local community, did midwifing, once threw an incredible curse on some people that robbed and blinded her, and didn't take crap from anyone! Naturally, I've looked up to her since I was little, but she died long before I was born. I wish I'd had the chance to learn from her in person, but this site is the next best thing.
So hello, everybody! Looking forward to learning some new things and meeting some new folks.
