Hi From Canada

Hi - I'm Aura, a resident of regional Québec in Canada. As I wrote in thanks to miss cat earlier this week, at age 31 I've been practicing shiatsu massage, yoga and herbal healing for over 10 years now (recreationally one could say :P).

After early forays into neo-pagan/wiccan ''witchery', I've never considered my Catholicism mutually exclusive of my practicing magic.

Before I was ready to undertake any serious spell-work, or even think of undertaking magic seriously, I realize now that the younger version of myself (early 20s) was in serious need of heavy personal house-cleaning. (Mucho mucho therapy  ) Now it's with joy and eagerness that I have been rekindling my previous interests.

I happened on the hoodoo community while looking for a way to help a friend who has developed a fear of travel since a particularly bumpy landing in our company plane (I work on a mine site in the Arctic and the only way into or out of the site is by plane). I came upon instructions for a safe travel mojo which perfectly fit for the condition (with the small addition of a couple of extra herbs specific to the hyperventilation he experiences during travel).

As a result, I'm looking to make friends in the community and increase/share knowledge as I happily return to the wonderful world of magic. The hoodoo practice with its pragmatism, history and tactility feel natural and right. I'm interested in people's experience of the conjure in their daily lives and curious as to how others apply the practice; and for what.
