Ten points for anyone who knows where I got the quote of my Subject line! 
Greetings Everyone! My name is Kast (and yes, My Rising Sign is Aries).
I've always been interested in (and began to research) occult lore since my high school years and have been an actively practicing occultist for about 15 years now. While my initial practices were rooted (pun intended) in witchcraft/neo-paganism & folk magic, I began to eventually incorporate Ceremonial/Western Hermetics, Eastern Occultism & Shamanic Work. I also have a very strong pull toward the African Traditions (Haitian Vodou & Brazilian Kimbanda, in particular) although have not been initiated in such a Tradition yet.
My draw to the Tradition of Hoodoo/Root-Work/Conjure specifically is what I now see as a "returning to My Roots" on many levels (literally & metaphorically). Firstly, I didn't realize how much of my initial practices with folk magic/witchcraft were connected so closely to Hoodoo until taking a deeper look. Also, I recently got some bits of info about elements of Hoodoo use in my family (mainly from my paternal Grandfather who was originally from Little Rock, Arkansas). I now look forward to both myself & My Sister (I hope she'll be joining the Forums here soon too) re-activating a strong Hoodoo & Conjure Tradition in our family.
A huge Thanks to Cat & everyone at Lucky Mojo for making this all available and creating a Global Community that is keeping this Tradition thriving on such an expanded scale. On that note, I'm also planning to get properly trained to take my Hoodoo/Conjure study & practices to the next level by taking Miss Cat's Correspondence Course later this year (and finishing ALL my homework too!).
I hope to learn, grow & exchange with everyone. Blessings & Continued $$ΒΆΒΆ$$ to everyone here & Beyond!
