I'm just dropping by to say, "Hi!" I live in central Virginia, near the Blue Ridge Mountains. DH and I live in the country. I have traded the Jersey cows and chickens of my younger, homesteading days for wild deer and hummingbirds. I'm interested in herb lore so I have ordered HH&RM after reading so many positive testimonials here on the forum. I have been soaking up information from the LM web site. Catherine's autobiographical piece, in particular, struck a chord with me, perhaps because we're the same age and lived through the same interesting period of history. I thought yesterday's (6/26) radio show was uplifting, comforting and very wise advice. I love the jugband waltz theme music! I was happy to find the early blues lyrics on the web site, too. --J.

It sounds like you have a lovely set-up out there! I have family in South-Western Virginia, also near the Blue Ridge Mountains, still living in the same area my ancestors homesteaded when they emigrated from Western Ireland. It is a personal goal of mine to get out there one of these days and do some serious exploring in the region, but the opportunity has not yet presented itself. Someday soon, I hope.
