Hello from Minnesota

Greetings and Happy New Year,
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I have been quietly making my way through the forums during the past two weeks and have been delighted at the sense of community and sharing of wisdom that takes place here.
My name is Christian and I hail from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have a background in anthropology where I studied indigenous spiritual practices and ethnobotany and then transitioned to medical anthropology. This brought me to studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and continuing graduate studiess in this field. I am currently a licensed acupuncturist, and have spent the last six years in practice at a Minneapolis hospital with an integrative medicine program where I worked primarily with end stage cancer patients. I recently made a professional transition into higher education and am currently a dean of clinical education at a local university with graduate programs in Oriental Medicine.
I was raised with a deep appreciation for folk magic. My grandmother and great-grandparents came here from southern Germany and with them their traditions of herbalism, folk-magic and healing. My grandmother passed this wisdom and practices on to me as she raised me. As an adult I continued studying indigenous healing and magical systems of Central Europe, North America and South America and Western Ceremonial Magic. I have some exposure to hoodoo and am excited to learn more and intend to persue the LM hoodoo course over time.
I look forward to getting to know more about you all and am excited to be able to participate in these discussions and learnings. Please feel free to message me and say "hi."
Be Well and Cheers!
