Hello from Atlanta Georgia!

Hi everyone! I'm new and have been discovering Hoodoo every since the age of 12, which was 5 years ago. Actually, I first discovered Hoodoo through Miss Cat's website at that age- a moment which thrust me into my love for root-work( sorry to sound so brown-nosy, but it's true!) Because of such, I was overjoyed when I discovered this forum...a truly magnificent place of community and knowledge!
Other than that, I am dedicated to hopefully using my love of spell work to help others one day and aside from being a more experienced root-worker, be an initiated Houngan Aswoge in the Vodou tradition, and start my own Sosyete ( though none of that is for this site, I understand, I'm just sharing my goals.:) I can't wait to become enlightened even more in the Hoodoo ! I am very interested lastly to train under a root worker, but due to my age and location, I don't know if that's possible yet. But that's for a different topic place:)

--Papalegba,

Welcome to the forum. If you've been roaming the Lucky Mojo websites for a while, you probably know about the wealth of information available. There's a lot to learn from a lot of good people, here.

In case you missed it, you can find Miss cat's free online book, Hoodoo in Theory in Practice here:

Miss cat also offers a correspondence course in hoodoo, which you might look into. You can find some information about it here:

In response to your addendum post; you are correct. This is a site about traditional American hoodoo, and the information and advice you receive here will be in regards to that tradition. However, any number of us who post here are involved in other traditions as well, including the African Traditional Religions, so I wouldn't worry too much about mentioning Vodoun, as long as you don't try to hijack the content in that direction ;).
