Hello! I am new to hoodoo, and came to it down a very windy road. It's taken me a couple of years of reading different books and following my interests through psychic phenomena and intuition, to spirits, to planetary magic, to ceremonial magic, and then ultimately here. Initially I would start exploring the magical side of life and then get cold feet, mostly because of a conservative Christian upbringing. A few things worked well for me along the way, namely the interaction with the planets, but not much else. I like hoodoo because of the structure you all give it. And hoodoo makes sense to me, maybe even more so because of my southern Christian background. Using the Psalms feels good to me. Knowing it has a rich history also feels good to me.

Anyways, that's probably more information than you care to know lol

I am currently working on a couple of altars: an ancestor altar and a financial altar. I've been gathering old pictures for the ancestor altar and have been doing some family tree exploring. For the Financial Altar I have incorporated Jupiter and have ordered some Money Drawing oil, Money Stay With Me oil, and a couple of Lodestones. I'm taking my time with them both and am really enjoying making them.
