Hello fellow forum-members,
having just registered, I'd like to introduce myself.
I am an academic historian of folk magic concentrating on the European early modern period (c. 1500-1700), as well as a magical practitioner, based in the UK. I've thoroughly enjoyed digging through this forum and the fascinating Hoodoo in Theory and Practice pages for a few years now, and recently felt it was time I began taking my involvement with Hoodoo more seriously, and seeking more interactions with and edification from the variety of experts and students on here.
I hope to work towards taking the Correspondence Course, although I am not in any hurry to rush my way through the rich, vast depths of traditional Hoodoo. Having experience of both sides of teaching and mentoring in academic institutions, I have a great deal of respect for pedagogical propriety and the importance of attentive and conscientious scholarship.
That said, I'm also very excited to be here!
All the best,
M.
