Hello Fellow Truth Seekers! ;)

Hello all,
Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself! I feel that in a forum such as this, it would only be appropriate to relay how my spiritual nature has evolved throughout my young 25 years that I have existed on this Earth plane. I first ventured outside of my monotheistic spiritual upbringing around the age of 12, researching Wicca and making spells with my friends in the early morning hours of my kitchen. My mom walked in on us late one night and pretty much put the kibosh on all of our creative self-expression, coining our involvement in such spiritual matters as "evil".
When I headed off to college at 17, I started delving head first into researching divination, astrology and various occult teachings. Even grabbed some books on Hoodoo and Pagan prayer. I was curious about Satanism, and asked during a reading if it was a path I should start to actively pursue. The reply I received from Satan was that if it was something that I really wanted to do, that was great, but I needed to "hurry up and make up my damn mind about it already". Needless to say as a typical teenage girl who didn't like being told what to do, this strong, impatient and overly-pushy call to action rubbed me completely the wrong way. No one was the boss of me EXCEPT me! I immediately turned my back and became decidedly agnostic, and felt that there was no rational measurement for us as humans to "prove" that religious material of any kind had any sort of merit (such naiveté). So, I just started studying anything and everything that I could get my hands on: Taoism, Kabbalism, Vedic traditions, interpreting birth charts, Aleister Crowley, Anton LaVey (who I discovered was a fraud, and only further validated my decision to walk away from his approach), Hermetics, Alchemy, the Kyballion, Gnostics.. The list goes on. I stumbled across some information explaining how the balance of anima/animus in your personality type can play a significant role in determining whether or not a particular religion is best suited to your energetic balance. All of a sudden, things started making sense. My traditional Southern Baptist Christian upbringing was too suppressive of my dominant artistic feminine nature. I decided that I would adopt the various teachings that did resonate with me into my own spiritual practice. I found myself growing increasingly attracted to herbalism, crystals and natural holistic plant medicine. Today, Witchcraft is the main focus of my spiritual practice, incorporated with strong ties to Native American folk magick, shamanism, and conjure. I have an immense appreciation for all spiritual walks of life, and feel that there is a great deal of knowledge and insight that can be harnessed by those who are willing to listen to it. I look forward to getting to know all of you who are on your own quest for spiritual truth, and I wish you luck along your journey!
