How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers

I'm in a wonderful relationship with the sweetest guy I'm going to spend the rest of my life with, and I'm planning on making a honey jar for the both of us to keep things sweet and smooth

I was wondering if it's fine to keep a honey jar for good- won't the honey spoil?

And also, I intend to burn a 4" red/pink altar candle on it every Friday, should I place it in a candle holder, or should I just "stick" it upright to the jar with some melted wax, then let the rest of the candle melt over the jar?

If it's the latter, what can I do to ensure that the wax doesn't run onto my table?

My boyfriend knows that I'm doing spells that have to do with him- (and he's happy to let me do so) is it okay for him to touch the honey jar?

Honey is a natural preservative. I've had my fiance and my honey jar for almost 6 years now. Some of the honey will crystalize, but otherwise it's fine.

I just stick the candles straight onto the jar. Put foil underneath it if you're concerned, or better yet buy a nice saucer to put the honey jar on that will be it's "home". It will catch stray wax.

Why wouldn't it be ok for him to touch the jar? It's for both of you, so if both are you are participating in the spell so much the better.

I would just collaborate on one petition - that way the jar is working for one particular goal, rather than for two which may be slightly different, thereby splitting the energy.

There are taboos about other people touching (or sometimes even seeing) mojo hands, and other things that are meant to be worked for you and you alone. But it's not an across-the-board thing - it's specific to certain works. Just like collecting personal concerns need only be sneaky if you're going to be working on someone without them knowing it, otherwise just asking for it is perfectly fine.

I began a honey jar for an old sweetie with whom we lost contact until a few months ago. First I did the lodestone spell with a bride and groom candle. Simultaneously I burned candles on honey jar with a dressed love candle and a dressed high john the conqueror candle.

The bride and groom candle burned brilliantly. Nate's side burned faster than my side and a small amount of wax ran onto my side of the candle. Overall it burned extremely clean.

Now, initally the candles I burned on the honey jar left some residue/unburned wax. From what I recall, the flame burned pretty average, although the more candles I burn, the higher the flame. Now since last Weds, ALL of my candles (except Wednesday's which left VERY little), burned with NO residue. I mean NOTHING. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Wednesday's candle burned so well, that is burned through the residue of the previous candles, leaving its own AND their wicks behind. The wicks weren't even coated in wax!!!

I took those wicks and sprinkled them on top of the lodestones.

My 7 day candles have all burned extremely clean as well. I notice that the flames of the novenas seem to always dance in the absence of wind. I keep many of them in my closet on separate altars (for different works) with the door shut. Is that a sign or due to the influence of the heat inside the glass?

I am letting things take their course...SLOWLY. Nate and I flirt from a distance, but there is definitely that chemistry still there. We are both coming off very bad relationships, so are hesitant about getting into something so soon, but I feel this could really be something.

RIght now, he is just enjoying his time with the ladies...I am enjoying my time as a new mommy...

I am thinking about doing a separation spell to get them out of the picture, remove his craving for them/rebounding to refocus his energy towards me....any suggestions?

In addition, I have been burning a St. Martha the Dominator candle to assist me with Slinky (My Son's Father...I wrote about in "A Funky Vinegar Jar Spell") and Nate, the old HS sweetie/new flame.

The candles you are burning seem well adapted to the work you are doing.

I think that a Separation vigil light would be better than a Break-Up vigil light for the separation purpose you suggest, as it is gentler and less volatile.

In addition to Saint Martha the Dominator for help with your ex, you might also consider the following vigil lights: Pay Me (for child support) and COmpelling (to make him keep any court0ordered promises of support or custory arrangements).

You can also have these candles "backed up" by having us set the same lights for you on the Missionary Independent Spiritual Church altars as we ship to you. Here's how:

I've been burning taper candles on my honey jar. I figured the longer the candle, the stronger the spell. SAt least once, each time I burn a candle, the flame leaps up to about 8 inches (possibly higher) and stays burning that high for at least 10 minutes. Yesterday, it did that for half an hour. It was amazing. Yesterday's was the weirdest. The flame was burning normally, then I turned around and saw it doing the 8 inch thing. I am being conservative here. It could have been 10 inches high. Then the top of the flame started shooting out light black smoke in a funnel shape, like a tornado shape. I stayed with it for the half an hour, and then it went back to normal size. As I said, this extraordinarily high flame happens a lot. I've burned taper candles decoratively before, but never seen anything like this. What does this mean?

If it happens consistently with every candle it may be a problem with the candle and not a sign.

That is a good sign. I often get signs when typing a name or speaking of it. For instance, earlier tonight i was answering a post titled "Althaea" -- about using the herb or the root of the plant, or both -- and my daughter phoned, just as i hit the "submit" button. Her name is Althaea! She's pretty psychic.

wow thats a great gift your daughter has cat, thanks for your opinion, I was thinking about doing a st martha spell too instead of an intranquil using the luckymojo service does the candle burning report have to be mailed by post or can you send it by email? I would prefer a gifted member of staff did this spell for me.

As we approach the full moon on October 4th, 2009, I am wondering if I should keep working on a current honey jar for love.
Do I continue to do the Monday, Wednesday and Friday rituals during the soon coming waning moon or should I stop and wait
for the new/waxing moon cycle again to continue the work. Please advice me. Also I am running a small business that need
some help these days in attracting customers. Could I do a honey jar for this as well? It's just a thought that just popped into
my head as I write this. I love the advice out here, I've learned a lot! All advice is welcome, I love to learn. Thank you.

I work jars no matter what the moon phase.

You could do a jar for your business, but you might be better off doing a money-drawing or steady work bottle spell (since you seem to like the bottles). Then if you get any leads or possible big clients, you could honey jar them to keep them sweet on your business.

Questions:

I use a rather large honey jar - large enough to burn a penis candle on the lid. When I started it I followed Ms Cat's instructions on the page on honey jar - ate three spoons of honey as I said 'XXX will be sweet to me as honey is sweet to me', then put everything in.

I don't know about Black Cohosh root - I wouldn't put it in.

I think that there is something made different with the candles that you have. I don't think that it means anything try switching candles and see if it still happens. I just got my honey jar and I am burning the 4" candles on them and so far so good all good burns very little candle wax left behind.

I just followed the directions. However after you eat the spoon fools put the lodestones in first because I put mine in last and one of them rattles against the lid. I should have put it in first, so the honey would have kept it submerged.

Timing in hoodoo is in general not given the same amount of importance that it is in most new aged moments. Do work when it needs doing.

When first setting a spell, I personally usually use the correct lunar timing, as well as planetary and planetary hour ...if I'm able. However, if work needs to be done, it can be done and will still work if you can't get all your timing right.

And some spells are ongoing, and for those I just work them continuously, even if I waited to start them initially under ideal timing.

Hoodoo is nothing if not practical - so if you want to use timing and can, then awesome. Otherwise, don't worry about it!

Ok I need some input please - I have been burning my honey jar for about a month or so and last night when I burned my candle, it burned all the way clean and cleaned off all of the previous candle residue, except for some burnt pieces of wick and herbs. I do still have the candle wax going down the jar and a puddle at the bottom of the jar, but the top is completely clear. Anyone give me their opinion, if it's a good sign??

I prepared my honey jar on Friday because of my living situation I could not turn on a candle. However, the next day I did. I am lighting a candle when there no one around. Well, today he call after not hearing from him for eight days. He kept it real short and all he wanted to know if I was going to meet up with him at the end of Oct. (I have to prove to him that I am not ) I will continue to light a candle on my honey jar and hope for more. I wants us to be like we were a few months ago. I miss him terribly.

I bought Intranquil spirit kit about a month ago. It seem I am lacking the NERVES to do the spell. After reading a lot of the post here, I am a little bit afraid of it. Should I be afraid ? I truly beleive now that my honey JAR did not had to anything with him calling me. I mean he kept our conversation less then a minute. I know that I did things backward. I should done the intranquil spell first then the honey jar. I need advice PLEASE

Hi salmyrcrr,

Please give more details on what is the problem between you and your (presumably) boyfriend..

And it really doesn't make much of a difference if you did the intranquil spirit spell or honey jar first, so don't worry. There's no need to be afraid of it, but it IS one of the more coercive spells that I would use as a last resort, along with other spells such as Love Me Or Die. The intranquil spirit spell, in essence, makes his heart heavy, and makes him suffer emotionally and pine away until he comes back to you.

I can't really tell from your post, but if the only spell you've done to make your (presumably) boyfriend return is the honey jar, you should try some other gentler/sweeter spells before resorting to the intranquil spirit, such as an attracting spell or the love me/marriage/stay with me/follow me boy etc line of products. (I don't know much of your situation, so I just gave you a rough, generalized list of love-related products)

Spells are more effective if you don't "overthink" them- so if you intend to do any more, pour your whole heart and focus your intent on doing them, then try your best to leave them alone, don't keep fixating on whether it would work or not or whether you did XYZ correctly.

And why do you not believe that it wasn't your honey jar that brought him to call you?

I don't mean to be rude, but frankly, that's not a good attitude to take towards spellwork- if you believe that it WON'T work, and if it did, assign some other reason or excuse as to why it happened, your future spells may not be too successful, and your current ones might stop working altogether.

Think of it like this- spells feed off the worker's intent and belief. If I gave a love spellkit to a non-believer, even if he had added in all ingredients correctly and made a perfect petition, the spell wouldn't work, since he wouldn't believe that it does.

It would of been six months today that we would of been together, if we would of never parted. However, life sometime does not give you what you want. He went from being a loving boyfriend to a total jerk ! Sadly by then I have fallen for him pretty bad and he knew it. Some men not all take advantage of women that fall to hard for them. Anyways, so here I am. Wanted him back in my life. He all I think about. We have kept communication because I had a pregnancy scare. He do not believe me when I tell him that I am not pregnant. He want to meet up with me so that I can have a pregnancy test done in front of him.
I know I must have more faith on my work. I am just afraid that I am obessing to much on this man and I do not know if it worth it. I will continue my honey jar and maybe do the intranquil spirit spell. I gotten so many different view on the spell that frankly it have frighten me. I believe in my heart that the spell is perfect. I have a lot of physic intuition but do not know how to used it. For example, the other day where I work I thought on how it would be like to have these big speakers with music playing. Can you beleive that a few days those thoughts came to life. This happen to me a lot, I have a thought and it happen. However, I am not reading my physic intuition correcly.

You need to take some time out and work on yourself. Don't be an emotional mess trying desperately to hold on to him. Be a srong woman who deserves love, whether that be his or someone else's. Don't work from a position of desperation. Work froma position of strength. I think you'll find that whatever you decide you want, you'll have more success with your work that way.

Ok so hes not talking to me anymore, I'm really confused because at first he made it sound like he wanted to make peace with me but out of no where he told me he regret hitting me up because according to himi haven't changed which confused me because we only communicated via AIM(instant messenger) yes maybe I made a mistake by telling him to block me after he said that. Now I don't know what to do. Should I keep going with what I had planned as stated on a few post before? Or should I light another come to me vigil candle? Should I try the intranquil spell kit? I would stop and take stock of whether you actually still want this guy in your life, or if you'd just be better off cutting your ties and moving on.
You can just do this the old fashion way, or you could use Clarity products so help YOU see straight in this emotional situation. You can use Cut and Clear to move on.

If you still decide to pursue him, then I would get a reading before doing anymore work on that guy.

But sometimes it's really better for you if you just cut ties to a man that is obviously unwilling, even after being worked on. There's almost guaranteed to be a man out there that won't give you all this trouble.

I cannot blame him for not trusting me. We only know each other in a short time.

Today was his Birthday, and I text him with a Happy birthday, I thought I will get nothing back from him but he did text back with thank you.. I have 100% faith that my honey jar spell is working, now I think is time to move on to a more heavier spell..

This discussion brings up a question I have.

I started a honey jar recently to fix a situation at work. The candles burned clean and even, but at the end of each candle burn a small amount of wax leaked out of the open sides of the base of the star candle holder (came with the boss fix honey jar spell kit) just before the wick burned itself out (which took a while surprisingly and made the metal holder quite warm.).

After 3 days I now have a little bit of wax that has run down the side of the jar and as it is very cold in my home (autumn's here!), it made a couple of tears. They were not on the candle ever in this case. When are tears considered divinatory? Additionally it looks like wax residue is a common outcome from doing a honey jar spell based on what Bri & HD posted, but I thought I'd get others opinions who have done honey jars. On a psychic level no bells are going off.

Ive been working my honey jar for 3 months now and my ex and I have been making progress, maybe Im a weak person as I cant handle the fact that he is still with his girlfriend, Ive done a vinegar jar for them too. But I cant handle the emotion anymore of them still being together as the honey jar does effect me to some extent too. I told him that I dont want him to contact me anymore simply because I feel that if he truely loves me he will find his own way back to me. I have decided to not work on my honey jar for a while, but as it is still there will it still work? I want him to carry on having feelings for me but I dont want to carry on working it for now, maybe I will come back to it at a later point. I don't want to do a cut and clear because I do truely believe that he is meant to be with me he just needs to realise this.

Help Im so confused

I would do some Clarity work and maybe some King Solomon Wisdom work after that on yourself to be able to really look at the situation clearly and make a decision from there.

From personal experience, the honey jar absolutely has the capability to keep working even if you stop actively working it. But your feelings will remain just as bound up in it as his do. As long as you keep your stuff locked up together in that honey with his, your energies will be mixed up. So if YOU actually want to move on and stop feeling connected to the situation, you need to release that honey jar to get away clean.

Get a reading on the situation with an AIRR worker to see if he will actually leave his girlfriend - because if he won't there's no point in you wasting time and energy on it. You're better to just get clear. Honestly in my opinion, if after 3 months your vinegar jar AND your honey jar aren't achieving your aims, you really should look seriously at moving on.

If you truly believed he's meant to be with you and he needs to realize it, the best thing to do is to cut him off, both in your heart and in life.

I've had this experience twice, and many fellow posters do too in love work. A few weeks after I made up my mind to not be with that person and disposed of everything - honey jar, mojo, his personal concerns, etc. - the guy would start calling. This happened when the person was particularly 'thick' - maybe he's with someone else (that I wasn't aware of at the time) or he's just self-absorbed. It took that disconnection for them to feel the shock, and to look into what they really felt. In one case the guy called for several months despite my radio silence. I still did have feelings for him; it's just my wish to be with him was dead. Eventually, I did see him again.

Same for Cut & Clear, except you'd be actively doing something to kill the connection. The person will come back if he still has a true attachment to you.

That said, some reconciliation cases take longer than three months to resolve, one way or another, esp. if it involves other people (third party, interference from family). But if there's no real movement that indicates the guy is coming back to you - he's falling out with his gf pretty badly, or he's coming over to see you - then your prospects look quite iffy. A good reading will be essential.

There's another thread on honey jar in which some poster said it continued to work on her ex. but not really on her anymore, after she put it aside and forgot about it. I also had this experience - I was totally over a guy even though I forgot to throw the jar away. So I think it depends.

Let me tell you something about the Cut & Clear, if this guy is meant to be with you, the Cut & Clear will actually reaffirm it.

I did 3 Cut & Clears on my present boyfriend. I was bound and determined to wash him out of my life, but our whatever we have kept us coming back together. I believe we are a lot stronger for our bumpy beginning.

Thanks everyone for all of your advice! I am feeling much better about the situation, I have seen positive results from the honey and vinegar jar as he has made an effort to see me and he has told me that he wants me to remain in his life as a friend, he fell out with his girlfriend because of this, however they are still together which is quite upsetting. I am going to perform a break up vigil candle and see how that goes then I will definitely look into the cut and clear. Thanks alot Mary I did not know that the spell could work in that way, I see it as the only way forward as I want full control of my life back.

Dear fellow Hoodoo doers,

I did a sweetening spell, and after a few weeks of candle burning, I just noticed that the name paper INSIDE the jar somehow got torn!

Nope, didn't open the jar or shake it. Jar's made of glass, and I can see through the maple syrup that the name paper has got a SPLIT on it. Bit of herb (clove) sticking out...

Any meanings or signs about this? I'm more surprised than freaked actually, but still. Maybe when I did the namepaper I tore it without noticing because I was in too deep of a meditative state at the time.

Nevertheless, anybody knows what does it mean? Any advice?

If you did it yourself subconsicously or if it happened by any other means, I would think that somemone did NOT want this to happen.
Either by being protected from what you were aiming to do or by direct means of action and worked against you.

I would take out the paper and redo it adding quite a bit of lemon grass and Road Opener or Van-Van oil.

All right, I'd need a new jar then...

Going to re-use personal concerns... Person might be resisting, probably because fellow has a very strong will and disciplined mind! Time to buy Van Van oil... Any tips for me to make sure that nothing else goes wrong? (I like a good challenge like this! No point in hoodoo-ing a target that's too easy.)

I have noticed that there has been wax residue on my honey jar but mainly towards the left. The left has way more residue than the right. Does it have any significance? What does it mean? .......Thanks

Is the top an even surface or does it have dents in it? Also if the flame is being moved by a draft or a just moving that can affect things as well. Does that have a significance? I would say no. I understand that candle burning is exciting when you are doing it for the first time, but not everything is a sign. Sometimes it is...what it is.

I agree with NotDorianGrey, and hiighpriestess. First of all you need to get a reading done to see if it is even worth trying to bring him back. I mean really sounds like there is some other underlying reason why he left you in the first place. I mean I dont know if I would want to be with a man that walks out on me if I were pregnant or not. But to each their own. He might actually think you tried to get pregnant on purpose.

I say get some divination done, and see if this is even worth pursuing though. Right now you are an emotional wreck, so not to sound pretentious but every little thing is going to remind you of him, and sometimes we want to believe something so badly when we are an emotional wreck.

As for what others have been saying about the IS and whatever else...everyone's situation is different, and the results will vary. Also, realize that the IS is sort of a last resort, and it is a means of torture to bring that person back to you. If you want the person to love you, then you need to do something else. I mean I would keep on the IS, and move on to something like a come to me spell or a skull candle. This way you can get him to call you or communciate with you more. To me a simple thank you is okay results, but not enough for me to say the sweet jar is a total success. But at least he was reluctant to give you that. He could have simply ignored you. So keep going, and perhaps do a skull candle to get him to think about you. It could be a slightly less forceful way to get him to contact you. If you would like a skull candle spell, message me, and I can give you one that I have put together.

I'm also of the opinion that it isn't a good idea to act from a place of emotional desperation, so I really advocate doing some work on yourself. Whether this is clarity, strengthening, making yourself more desireable or whatever you feel you need to do; take the time to build yourself into someone strong and confident enough to win this man back, and to be worthy of him if you succeed.

Take it in parts. You do not need to do EVERYTHING at once. It is best to concentrate on one or two steps at a time and it works than do 5 things in a round about cheap way, and it not work.

Well, although it ain't my place being a newbie to hoodoo and all, I am going to tell you,

Be brave! I respect what you want, and in my non-magical experience, you've got to be fearless if you want to get something you want. Even in magic, being scared means you've got doubt, and it can affect your spell.

Come on! You can do it! (Just be prepared for what comes after though...)
