Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
You did not say what kind of candles.
If you were burning figural or free-standing candles, it would not be traditional to throw them in the trash.
You would dispose of the wax. If they are glass encased vigils, you would recycle the glass, not throw it in the trash (the putrescible garbage).
1) You would need a reading. I cannot judge based on the little you have shared here.
2) Try another kind of spell if candles are not working well for you.

Hi everyone,
When deploying a vinegar jar, does it have to be done at dawn?

No. Dawn is usually used for self-bathing. Other times relate to other events, ideas, concepts, or types of work. You COULD do it at dawn, but sunset or midnight on a dark moon seems more appropriate to me to dispose of the vinegar jar. And even that is not a "rule," it's just the way i might work.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Ok if I had vinegar jar with one person in it and I buried it at graveyard. Then I made another with that same person and a friend to break away their friendship. Does it matter how many you bury at a graveyard?
I will go to a different one. But I read burying it at someone who was mean would be a good place to bury it next too with a small board box as headstone?
I want to take a week break to cleanse and free mind or do I just let it sit in a dark place and shake it when I feel the need. Which will be better?

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello, Letsdoit2015,
It won't hurt if you bury more than one.
Yes, you can bury there.
If you just started another one and just want to take a week break, you can do that and then resume working the jar.
Wishing you the best

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Yesterday I disposed of the candle remains and photo stuck with 9 pins from my Kiss me now mojo ritual into the nearby river according to the instruction that came with the mojo, I asked the spirit of the river to take care of the remains and bring my target to me. I've just finished a moving candle spell and also need to dispose of the enemy candle's remain. Is it totally ok to throw it into the same river? I could walk to a different section to make sure it will flow away from where he lives.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello everyone.
I've read the laying tricks article and have done some searching in the forum, but I was wondering if someone could clarify for me:
When it's time for me to dispose of my vinegar jar I just started, I would like to do so at a crossroads. I was going to pour it out over my left shoulder. Should I bury the mason jar somewhere else and bring it home for the moment after pouring it out (or maybe bury it somewhere on the way)? can I take it home and cleanse it? I wouldn't want to smash the glass if at all avoidable... I live in a busy area and lots of people have dogs (and lots of those people probably couldn't afford proper care if their animal gets hurt, not to be disrespectful -- but it's a lower income/newly gentrified area of town). I just don't want to hurt any pups.

Hello, Catlady409 ,
I personally would prefer that you bury the jar. I don't like opening them.
Please read this webpage: www.luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello to all.
I would like to ask the forum moderation to indulge a rather complex question, if you please.
I have been wondering about the five spot pattern used in hoodoo. I had received the information that burning candles in a triangle was a manner of granting strength and confirming the work by the holy trinity. Would the five spot pattern then be a mean to strengthening the work by putting it under the influence of the spiritual force of the crossroads? And if it is so, would that be the so-called "black man of the crossroads"? Other than that, is the "black man" seen as the "owner" of the crossroads itself or merely as one of the spirits that may be called upon in the crossroads?

Hi,
I have some fairly large chunks of wax that I need to bury, but I only have small plant pots in which to bury them. Is it alright to break the wax in to smaller pieces to bury?
Thank you x

Hello, Angelkitty ,
I hate breaking them. Can't you bury by a tree?
What about burying it vertically?
Otherwise, then yes, break them in pieces.

Hi,
What can I do about mojo bags or any other magical items that can't be seen and when I travel out of the country and come back in immigration customs looks at all the items. My question is for mojo bags since they can't be seen. So this mean I would have to buy a new mojo bag every time I leave the united states and come back? Thank you.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello all---I am confused somewhat about disposal of ritual remains (wax, petition papers, glass, etc)---
First -- I am opposed to taking a bag of anything and throwing it out in the street (crossroads), or throwing trash in a river anywhere (basically polluting) or throwing things out that an animal or kids could eat or get hurt stepping on.
Second -- I also would not desecrate anyone's loved one grave by smashing something on a headstone or burying something in a graveyard. I believe we humans need to take much better care of our mother earth than we are currently and this just doesn't feel right to me.
I am doing a ritual to get my nasty hateful trailer trash neighbor to leave me and my property alone.
It would absolutely not be possible to bury anything in my nasty neighbors yard without him or someone in his family seeing me do it, which would just stir up another big pot of harassment for yet another summer. I cannot/will not throw something over in his yard for the same reasons. I am trying to get him to leave me alone, not give him another reason to harass me.
When I have wax, petition papers, etc to dispose of can I wrap all up in a trash bag tightly and throw it in my trash can to be buried at the local landfill by our trash service and/or recycle glass votive candles??
I am only finding answer that refer to burying, throwing in water, throwing in a crossroads, etc.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for any help.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
lkc001 --
The recycling of glass tubes from vigil candles has been covered here many, many times, and that is a non-starter. We all recycle glass. I have no idea where you got the idea we do not do so. If you want more information on the topic of recycling glass, please read this thread from the beginning or please read my book "The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic" or please read my free public web site on the subject (the section starting "Most folks just put the candle glasses into the regular recycling ..."):
http://www.luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html
However, even after you get that squared away, you are still left with your ideas about "desecrating graves" that indicate to me that your cultural and personal beliefs are such that the practice of hoodoo may not be a natural "fit" or match for you.
You ask about throwing spell remnants in the trash.
Okay, well, on the very first page of this thread, back in April, 2009 (five years ago as i write this now), i wrote, "The reason we do not put ritual remains in a dumpster is because, depending on the job, those items may be heavily invested with spiritual power."
And that is the basis of how we work and it has not changed.
Now, you could burn it all, you know, and that is also discussed there in that same post.
Next, when we bury something in a graveyard, we are not "desecrating graves" and we don't just randomly choose a grave as a disposal site. We are calling upon the spirits of the helpful dead to work against our enemies or to hold them down for us.
I suggest that you seriously consider whether hoodoo is a practice you wish to follow. It may simply be too far off your cultural or personal track. There is no shame in this. It is GOOD to recognize what one will and will not do. Speaking for myself, i will not join any Afro-Diasporic religion because i refuse to sacrifice living animals to deities or spirits. I don't say that it is wrong for others; i just know it is not right for me. So, if working with the spirits of the dead is not "right" for you, and you consider that a "desecration," then perhaps a different form of magic would be best for you.
Good luck.

Hello, divergent2017 ,
I wouldn't travel with them.
Or else, hide them inside your luggage. Put safety pins around them. Then, if the safety pins have been moved, then you know the mojo has been seen or touched.
Also, you could put them inside your underwear.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello,
I’ve read the forum but still have questions regarding what to do with spell remnants. Over the course of a few months I performed a couple four candle rituals that were drawing to me in nature. I wrapped the remnants of all four in separate white cloths and tied them with string. I placed them in a Ziploc bag and keep them in a plastic container. I did this because I am a little confused on the laying of tricks portion and not sure how to proceed. Should I bury them in my yard? I live in an apartment building and I am concerned about them being dug up. Or should a throw them in a crossroads? I live in a major city so the majority of crossroads are high traffic intersections. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance for any and all help.

Hello neophyte79,
Some people will bury attractive and positive work Ina potted plant they keep in there apartment. Of course if you do a lot of work this is not sustainable but is a good solution for someone who doesn't do a ton of work.
You might also go to a park or forest somewhere and find a good strong sturdy tree, develop a relationship with that tree and ask it to look over the works that you bury there or place in its branches.
Hope this is helpful
Peace~

Hello Nathen,
Thank you very much for the suggestions. The help is greatly appreciated. I have one last question. Is it bad that I keep them in a Ziploc bag for a months now and is it too late to put them in the earth now? Thank you again.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Sup Guys,
Gotta few questions that need answering:
1. I am renting, so all the work i'm doing has been piling up in my storage, it's about time I bury them in something- Vegas and our landscaping- we dont have actual dirt like parks & places of that nature, plus If I bury my work at a park, I can get a violation for that & go to jail since it's an issue. I also live with my mother & a roommate. If I buy these plants, and put my work in them- that would mean the magic is still alive correct?
2. Can I put more than one of my spiritual remains in a potted plant? (i.e. Money Drawing, Lavender Love, Psychic Vision etc) or do I get individual plants?
3. If the plant dies...-(cause eventually every living thing dies), does that mean the magic wears off or does it mean I throw the plant away? What would I do with the dead plant?

3. If the plant dies...-(cause eventually every living thing dies), does that mean the magic wears off or does it mean I throw the plant away? What would I do with the dead plant?- The whole idea is that if the plant grows, so will the spell. So, I would definitely repeat the spell if the plant dies. And that dead plant would have to be disposed of properly: www.luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html

Thank you very much Miss Aida. I'll do just that.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hi,
I am staying at a friend's house in another city and wanted to ask how the best way might be to dispose of love ritual remains, as I do obviously want to keep them close or fix their influence. What would be the best way if this isn't my hometown?
Thanks.

So Fox,
My recommendation that my mentor Aida mentioned to me- was buy a house plant, and bury it in there. Keep it alive as well. I would put it out on the front porch or keep it in your bedroom next to a window sill.
Hope that sorta helps.

I was wondering if it would be alright for me to bury the remains of the penis candle with the red Adam candle with the petition paper with the foil that the candles were placed on in my back yard?
Thank You.

Thank you.

Hello Lovemydogs,
This is one of those things that you will see vary from worker to worker. I like to burn my petitions in incense or in a fire in general but that honestly speaks more to my Ojibway traditions but fits in well with hoodoo also as I understand it so yes you can do it the way you are saying. You could also just bury the petition whole along (i.e. with burning it) with everything else.
Peace~

Hello
Goodmorning
Please I need attention.I was wondering if I should just throw the remaining bath on a cross road without facing the east.
Secondly,I want to know how to discharge the remaining candle wax on a crossed road.should I rap it on any colour of plastic bag or just discharge without rapping it with plastic bag?.

Hello, yuma ,
This is done toward the east. This is what you ought to do.
I would wrap up the remains in a cloth as opposed to a plastic bag.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello everyone.
I feel extremely stupid !
All this time I have been doing my spells when I get a chance and I normally just wrap the wax remains from candles I've used and placed them away in my wardrobe or a draw due to the fear of family members messing around with it or I just forget due to stress that I've been going through.
I am guessing this would have stopped my spell work from manifesting to its full potential if at all ?
But I am finally deploying my work properly,
I am such a numpty !

Hello RoseStar21,
It does sound like this would undermine your work. Glad you are now able to have a more cohesive approach! If you absolutely can not do work where you are then you can always hire a professional to do work for you! (www.readersandrootworkers.org)
Peace~

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
I plan to burry the break up spell in my ex boyfriends girls' residential area near her front door at night. He stays in her place most of the time. Here's my fear...
They both get off of work at 12am. It's a 10 minute drive to her house. But They usually stay up till 3am and she goes outside to the balcony to smoke, which faces her front door entrance, and she's only on the third floor.
What is the best time to go and bury the bottle and remains on her property in this situation when no people are around which is usually late at night?
I figured the only chance I get is maybe 4 or 5am. Would that be best?
Also, can I whisper the curses as I lay out the hot foot powder on her and goofer dust so she can't hear me at night?
And I plan to use a black glove to work with the goofer dust, should I bury the glove in the cemetery after I leave or throw it out?
Thanks

DaniWOnderland,
Regarding timing: We cannot give advice about when would be the best time to work unseen. We are manufacturors of supplies, running a forum for our customers. If you want to do this work, you have to be wise, brave, clever, and tough enough to do it on your own. Choose your time and do your best.
Yes, you can whisper curses as you lay the powder.
As far as disposal of the glove, you may do as you like with the glove, either way -- burial in a cemetary or discarding somewhere it will not be found, such as at a crossroads, in a hollow tree, etc.

What is the purpose/significance of tossing some of your bath water over your shoulder at a crossroads, when doing the uncrossing kit??

I am ordering stop gossiping spell kit soon. I read that when finished with the kit one should bury in their backyard. I live in a townhome without a backyard. Where else can I bury the remains? Thanks

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello Sheisfierce,
Used a potted plant
Put your ritual remains in the bottom, then put in potting soil and a plant over top of it, water like you would any plant. You could place the plant by your back door.
Hope that helps!

Thanks sisterjean,
However I have no back door to the outside only a garage with very limited space between my garage and the neighbor's garage behind my home. And we all usually use the back side for our comings and goings. Hope my description makes sense. Thanks again

Hello Sheisfierce,
Well if you absolutely don't have enough space in the general vicinity of your back door to place a potted plant, you might just have to bury the remains behind your building. I think burying it there would still be in keeping with the spirit of the traditional act of burying it in your backyard.

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
I am going to do cat's revenge spell starting Saturday. The one where you smash up a candle or a black figurine. I don't mind bearing things in the graveyard because I know I'm not desecrating any graves however there is more than one person I'd like to seek revenge on. After I am done can I put them all in one Deep whole. Or should each hole be separate?
Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello, Hawthorne ,
So glad that you're OK with the graveyard. I LOVE working in the graveyard!!
If the revenge is for the same thing and you are doing 2 people, then you can use one hole. Just make sure that you tell the Spirit who these people are and the justification
Wishing you Great success!!
Take care

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
I have been taking my used incense to two paths that cross in front of my house and did so with my Van Van incense tonight, I guessed that the correct procedure as read in the forum for disposal is at a crossroads with incense as well? And I scattered it onto the grass rather than bury it, as I could be seen so had no privacy. Am I doing this the right way or must I change my disposal methods? Thank you

Hello Nony65,
Everything you're doing sounds just fine. You don't have to bury everything you dispose of at a crossroads, and incense is just another type of spell remnant.

In front of my house there is a very beautiful and Green Square...
At this sqquare there is a garbage can that no one uses, it is always empty... can I throw my love spells remains in that can as it is very near my home?

So you want to throw love spell remains in the trash?
Please tell me that it's because you've changed your mind about the work and that you want to throw it away because it's no longer needed...

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Hello, root,
When you throw things in the garbage, it is symbolic that the spell is garbage.
So, please don't do that.
Here are ways of disposal/deployment:

Thanks a lot for your help, I decided to bury it in a vase with a plant, and I prayed that as the plant grows, so may our love grow too
Thanks!

Hello vstevens36,
I merged your post with this thread; please don't start new topics.
When you do a spell, the way you dispose of the spell remnants is very important. You hardly ever throw anything away; by doing so you're telling the spirits that you think your spell is garbage, and why would you do that when you want it to be successful? I'd suggest studying this page to learn more:

Re: Disposal of Ritual Remains Questions and Answers
Let me start by saying that I belong to a gym, I consult with my doctor, I'm going to a weight loss clinic, I take vitamins, and I'm taking prescription weight loss pills. I've been struggling with my weight and health for over a year now. I've suffered from depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and an extremely low energy level. I've also suffered from repeatedly getting very sick (flus, colds, irritable bowel syndrome symptoms, random rashes...). It seems like my metabolism and immune system are giving up on me. I'm only 31 years old. After seeing doctors and therapists to treat all of these things, I started to get paranoid and think that someone was out to get me.
I've already lit a white/black reversing candle on a mirror and very angrily threw those remains in a crossroads toward the west. The wax remains from the black/white reversing candle formed a ton of "tears" that appeared (to me) to form a scythe going into pools of wax that reminded me of blood. I'm hoping that this represents the scythe stabbing my enemy (whomever it may be) and the tears that they will experience when their curse is returned back to them. I am currently in the middle of an uncrossing candle spell as well.
With all that said, I purchased a blessing weight loss, triple strength mojo hand. I have been praying with candles dedicated to doctors and angels, asking for their assistance with my weight loss and health goals. I also added an Archangel Raphael fixed glass candle to my alter, in addition to some items from around my home that represent health and weight loss. I prayed over everything, lit incense, and added oils to everything every day.
I experienced some set-backs during this entire process. During the first two to three days, my candles were burning slowly, but cleanly. I was excited because that meant slow, but successful, progress! Everything went downhill from there. My archangel Raphael candle flame went out twice, nearly giving me a heart attack. So, I fixed the candle with a second wick and set up a back-up candle, dressed everything with oil, and prayed. It looked like I was successful and there would be an upward turn in my luck. But then, two days later, the second wick had floated to the bottom of the candle and formed a "double-wick" inside the glass candle. My clean-burning candle suddenly turned entirely black inside of an hour, giving me a second heart attack. I was determined not to give up, and I didn't want an Archangel to turn his beautiful back on me. I admit that I was in tears. So, I put the candle out, cut down the wick, and cleaned out the inside of the candle. (I'm not sure if there are any rules against that, but I didn't care.) I also pulled the second wick out of the candle. I relit the candle with prayer, oil, and another back-up candle. In the end, the rest of the wax burned cleanly, with the rest of the sparkles resting beautifully at the bottom. Good grief.
I am planning on continuing to pray over my mojo bag with small chime candles and blessing oils.
My question is this:
Do I dispose of the ritual remains or should I fix their influence? I think I want to fix the influence of the blessings from the doctors and angels. I'm just not sure if I should inter them in a five spot pattern or if I should bury them in my yard. My reasoning is that I don't want to throw away the influence of the blessings that I've asked and prayed so ardently for. (I understand that other people want to throw away their fat and bad health, and might want to dispose of their ritual remains in a crossroads, or burn them, or throw them in water.) I think I want to keep the blessings and the curios that represent my weight loss and healthy way journey close to me in some way. I'm also not sure if I should inter them in a five spot under my scale (to represent weight loss), or in my bedroom, or in my whole house. I would appreciate any assistance and advice on this matter.
Thanks!
