AIRR Tech Team Report 6/6/2023 16 Years of Hoodoo Heritage Festivals!



In honour of the 2023 Virtual Hoodoo Heritage Festival this coming Saturday and Sunday (there’s still time to buy your tickets!, folks!), the AIRR Tech Team took out our history books and completely re-made our web page on the 16 Years of Hoodoo Heritage Festivals, with swathes of new text and new images. Handfuls of authors and photographers have contributed to the page over the years, but today, Reverend James created new code-tables and imported long-forgotten text and Nagasiva Yronwode supplied retrospective graphics from old Festival photo archives. Papa Newt and Catherine Yronwode edited the new text, uploaded and placed images, and provided proofreading and site-wide linking. Finally, Nagasiva created the graphic announcement. This page was a long time coming -- and i want to thank nagasiva and James and Newt for all the hard work.

There is a simple answer -- we like what we do, and we have been doing what we like for many years.

Sixteen years of the Hoodoo Heritage Festival has accumulated a wonderful community of friends and colleagues, and a huge body of folk magical knowledge that is accessible to anyone with an interest in learning.

The sheer body of books published for the Hoodoo Heritage Festival is astounding. We modelled our thinking in this regard on the work of the American Society of Dowsers, whose more than 50 years of publishing has set a high bar for us.
