Everything sounds fine except for the setting on fire in your singing bowl part. A singing bowl is a very finely-made item and could be damaged by fire, in my understanding.

I second what Miss Cat has said. I would really invite you to consider using a fire proof container to burn all the herbs for this work.

I personally feel compelled to do this type of work inside the body of a triangle of candles. I arrange three dark blue candles, dressed and carved appropriately, in a upward facing triangle, with the work inside of the candles. Sometimes I will connect the candles with Psychic Vision Sachet Powder, forming an actual triangle around the work. For me this greatly adds to the spellwork. Best of luck to you.

Interestingly enough, I was told not to burn the items. I tried lighting my match twice and each time it immediately went out and the third time the items themselves wouldn't light. I was then given the idea at that moment to make it instead a bath. So that is what I did and afterwards cleaned my bowl and work area where I keep my herbs, oils and ritual items with the bath water. It was a successful bath I think seeing that the scarab itself became warm in my hands and carried an almost living energy to it during the spell.

Next time I should remember that in a day trance I was told to name myself Mamaki (Dakini of Water) and shouldn't rely on old ways of thinking (usually with fire). I did this spell to increase my psychic ability the least I can do is listen better!!!

Thank you all for you input :)

That is great to hear! So interesting that doing/starting the work itself dictated you towards the bath. Very good work, indeed. Thank you for sharing and I hope to hear much more from you. Success!!!

Hello,

I am new to the forum and I could not find a topic similar to mine, so I am starting a new one.

I have some natural "gifts". My great grandmother was the healer (curandera) of her town. Her daughter in law, my grandma, had also other powers, she had contact with spirits and he had several premonitions; she never use anything for other people, but her for herself and her family. She had very distinctive marks or her hands. In my case, I started experiencing things since I was a preteen; however, some of those things were very unpleasant and I became afraid. Since then, I decided to put my powers in an "internal box". I really don't know how to explain thins, but I put them away, nobody taught me anything, I just did it in my own way, I guess it was instinct. ( I haven't talk to anyone about this).
After many many years, and after everything I have gone through in my life, I decided to embrace what I have but with a guidance. I am planning to take some of the workshops in May, specially the one about developing your personal formula.
Is there anything else that you recommend for me? I am very "rusty" right now, what I have is still there, I cannot explain it very well in here, but I want to open myself to it again, just to protect myself and the ones I love.

Thanks for having this wonderful forum

Blessings,

Gabriela10

Welcome to the forums, Gabriela!

In addition to Mama Micki's great suggestion of Mastery Key supplies, you might also consider the Psychic Vision line. The Psychic Vision Spell Kit in particular is a great way of working for psychic and spiritual development and mastery. Like many of the spell kits, it culminates with the creation of a mojo bag.

Best of luck!

Thanks again.

The psychic oil is really strong! I use this oil at night right before sleeping to find questions to answers, enhance my lucid dreaming, or contact spirits.

The first time I used this oil was while doing a reading, which I found out later by a friend was accurate. After the reading I went straight to work. During my lunch break, a man walking past my co-workers and I accidently dropped a quarter on the floor and kept on walking. For some strange reason I thought “this quarter was made in the year I was born” and I walked towards it to pick it up (I was at a distance where it was impossible to see the date). I had actually said that out loud too and my co-workers heard. Lo and behold, after I picked it up I was right. I freaked out my co-workers! Even stranger I had been looking for a quarter of my birth year with no luck the day before to use in a mojo bag.

Not really. I have design worksheets for each customized candle, mojo, etc. When I get good news from a client I reclassify these designs ("works") as standard formulas and use them for other clients where appropriate.

Greetings!

I absolutely keep a journal of everything I make, with the exception of things I have made that were not for me to have. Meaning, when I attended the first week of the LM apprenticeship, I did not record any of the recipes we made. I was honored to have the opportunity to make some of the items. Since I figure I will make a thing again sometime in the future, I would want to reproduce it as close to the original as possible.

So keep that journal!!
May you be blessed with Health, Wealth and Happiness,

The concept of keeping a magical diary goes back centuries, and among Wiccans and other Neo-Pagans,a receipt book of spells is often called a book of shadows.

I agree with Miss Michaele, certain forms of divination suit different people. I prefer scrying, tarot cards (mainly oracle at the moment) and to some extent pendulum (although it took me a long time to get used to it!) Runes don't call to me in a way and astrology and palms are all greek to me.. trial and error and trust your gut instinct as to what form you feel works best.. also don't give up at the first hurdle (like me and my pendulum) :)

I do divination work every single day to learn and improve my abilities. One of the most valuable things I have found is to keep a journal tied to my readings and record my initial impression and then go back later and document what really happened. I mostly work with cards. What I have discovered is that I am very gifted at the vision, but not so good at the initial interpretation. After the fact, my reading seems so obvious that I want to whack myself upside the head for not seeing it. I've been doing this since April/May 2012, and I'm beginning to get frustrated that I seem to be improving with my interpretation abilities far too slow. I find that I am much better at reading for others than I am at reading for myself. I have also found that I can't seem to read at all for some people.

I use LM master key, psychic vision, and clarity oils every time I do a reading, and I dust my cards and other divination items with master key sachet powder when I feel called to do so (usually on Wednesdays). I also drink dandelion tea regularly, as well as anise tea. Sometimes I chew on a little anise while doing a reading. I try to meditate for at least 5 minutes before doing any divination work.

The past couple of months, I have started remembering my dreams again (I seemed to have stopped dreaming while I was married, but I'm separated now and getting a divorce and have been out of contact with my ex since last April). Some of the dreams seem important, and I am recording them in my journal. I recently had one about a spider that I feel certain is an important message.

Right now for me my main and only tool of Divination is my Doreen Virtue Angel Tarot Cards Deck that I happen to come across by watching a YouTube video of a reader who does weekly readings. She uses a different Oracle or Tarot deck each week and this one just called out to me.

I try to do a reading each day with the cards, almost always on myself as there are not too many people around me that I could read for or read on, and my skills are improving slowly but surely. I think using the cards daily; repetition, being persistant, and having the intent on becoming a clear and perfect channel is what one need to have in mind to become successful at this, even if it takes a long time (in our third dimensional perspective of things) or seems as if things are not improving. A year from today you will be in a much clearer and enlightened position than you are at this moment. You will be able to look back and see your progress, no matter how big or small. All progress is good!

My best advice for anyone trying to pick up divination is to try out as many different kinds of it as they can until they find one that really fits. I started with Tarot like many people, and I'm pretty good at it, but I found Geomancy and fell in love. Now I read Geomancy (soo good and soo easy) Tarot, the I-Ching and I'm learning the bones.

Additionally, i recommend that you get one of the large books that covers, in miniature, most of the major systems used in the European traditions. None of these cover African, Levantine, Asian, or Native American divination systems, but they provide a basic overview of the Anglo-American methods. The best of these, in my opinion, is "The Complete Book of Fortune Telling."

I rely on that book almost every day, Miss Cat -- though, truth to tell, mostly the chapter on tea leaf reading. I use it to interpret the more puzzling shapes in candle wax and in my crystal balls.

Thank you all so much for the positive feedback!

I am continuing to get good results with Psychic Vision and other products from LM, and that has given me the confidence I needed to do more work on the behalf of others. Maybe the following testimonial belongs in another place, but I did a freezer spell for my sister with amazing results. She was being harassed/bullied by a co-worker and within days of doing the spell this person has hardly spoken to her. I followed the instructions on the freezer spell page on the Lucky Mojo site, using a lemon, and it totally worked. My skeptical sister is a believer now! It was so gratifying to be able to help her and I hope more opportunities will arise where I can help others in this way.

I am typical "airy Libra" who lives inside my head a lot of the time, and I think doing hands on spellwork with Lucky Mojo products is just what I needed to further my development. Thanks and blessings to all of you at LM!

Hello! I wanted to ask if there are any good meditation exercises before I start on candle work about someone. I get easily distracted a lot, but currently I have a white candle and Influence oil to make someone see the error of their ways but when I was burning the anointed candle I felt like something was wrong or something was there that told me to stop doing candle work because maybe I wasn't focusing too much. But I need focus help or some meditation help before I go do this again.
Thank you.

The Psalms are a great source for focusing the mind. For this kind of work I would reccommend Psalm 144.

Recite it alloud to yourself and try to really focus on the words. It is a Psalm of domination and conquering.

Is there a specific Pslam 144? Which lines or verses? Or the whole thing?

Try this.
Most people read the entire psalm, but some read parts and some mix psalms or parts of psalms with prayers spoken from the heart.

Hope this helps,

I am very new to rootwork, and though I am extremely interested in it, and have purchased supplies, I have a problem focusing when I am doing my work. I have always had a problem with focus, I have adult ADHD, and when I am trying to speak to my spiritual court, or focus on my goals when doing candle work, I just can't do it!

Do you have any tips for a budding conjure woman? :)

I know this is an extremely mundane answer, but I have found that meditation, of any kind, has helped me tremendously with focusing and sharpening my attention, intent, and will.

You burn candles in sections or use 4" inch candles to make things easier on you. There are several nutrition supplements on the market that may help too.

I'm new as well, so this is totally a newbies take, but for myself I had to divorce my idea of what focusing was (stillness; visualization) from when I actually feel the ineffable spark. For me I gotta pace or sway or sometimes even dance. I need something in my hands to shake (like a condition oil) or roll around. Needless to say, long candle work is not for me because I gotta TOUCH. So, yeah, on top of the great advice above, here's my humble 2 pennies. :-)

Also remember that there is no "shame" in working up to larger candle work mixed with focus. Start small and learn from your experiences. You will get stronger and stronger.

I also have a question about being gifted for the work.

Awhile ago, I got a wonderful and accurate email reading from ConjureMan Ali regarding various things...one of them being my gifts and abilities (and yes, folks, the man is AWESOME!). I was told that I am gifted for the work, especially in love (which is actually an area of the work that I can't seem to get to work out my way, probably due to the possibility that there are too many of the "wrong" types of men around and the "right" types of men are nowhere to be "pulled" or attracted to me in the first place), and I am also able to help and empower women, as well as being able to sense energies and shifts in these energies. I also have the gift of knowing.

That being said, I was wondering if since the gift of conjure comes from God, (and I must admit that this question may sound a bit juvenile, at best, and if so, I apologize), does God choose who to bless these gifts upon? I ask because in trying to understand spiritual gifts, I wonder if any of us who are blessed with the gift of conjure were "chosen" or "picked", as I am aware that some of us who work within magical systems and spiritual traditions are gifted, and some of us are not gifted.

An example of this is that my cousin, a Wiccan, has cast many spells and ONLY ONE has ever manifested, and this is out of the many spells she has cast over the 10 or so years she has been practicing. I understand that Wiccan spells are different from conjure, so I am in no way implying that the two are the same. But I bring this point up because in the beginning of my magical journey, I had also started out Wiccan, and at that time, I was able to cast Wiccan spells most naturally while learning, whereas she was not. And now, working with conjure, I find that I am also gifted for conjure, but she is not. (Its like my gifts can "cross-over" from one magical system into another, since I've had success in both Wicca in the past and conjure in the present). But I'm brought back to my original question: does being gifted for the work (as it is known in hoodoo and conjure as a gift presented by God), mean that one was "chosen" to have it? Again, I ask because not everyone who practices a spiritual tradition or works within a magical system is successful or gifted for the work, and I was wondering if those of us who are gifted for the work, were then chosen (if appropriate to say) by God to have these gifts of spirit.

I apologize if this question offends anyone or sounds inappropriate, as these were not my intentions.

Spiritual skills and gifts are like those of a more mundane nature, such as cooking. Some people can make an elaborate dinner with no apparent effort; some can barely boil water, but can learn to make some simple meals. Most people can cleanse their houses and bodies, but many have trouble with more involved spiritual work.

I believe that God gives people gifts and abilities (1 Corinthians 12) and favors certain individuals such as David and Daniel in the Bible.

Thanks, Mama Micki,

Ok, so in the Bible, Daniel was a prophet, and so, he was apparently favored by God and blessed with this gift. With that, I think I understand what you're saying (please correct me if I am indeed incorrect). I think what you're saying is that those of us who are either able to work with conjure or other magical systems do possess the ability to learn a bit more and work with it successfully, but those of us who are gifted with such abilities such as "knowing" and other gifts of spirit were indeed favored by god to receive them?

Many flawed people in the Bible were favored by God, including Jacob, Moses, Rahab, Ruth, David, Peter, and Paul. Each had his or her gift, which God used for His purpose. His ways are not our ways.

Thanks, Mama Micki. I guess I can just see it as God blessing me and others with our gifts that he knew we would be able to utilize in this lifetime. Thanks, again.

Hi all,

First of all I would like to say thanks to luckymojo and everyone that takes the time to answer questions and to Miss Cat for creating this website!

Within the past year I only read posts from the forum and never really tried any of the spells. I also purchased a truckload of oils and spell kits which I never used because I wasn't quite confident enough.

To make this as short as possible, I have found quite a couple spells in the forum which I have used and I am very proud to say I have had 100% success with so far. Those include breaking up people with a brown paper and smearing feces on, (they broke up withing a month or less), anointing a come to me candle for an ex to come see me (which he called about a week after and confirmed his trip to see me in a week time), and my last spell I did was a week ago I started a honey jar and did a skull candle on my ex, started on Monday and by Thursday we were in talks to see each other, and I had no biological items from him, only a name paper and picture.

I know those are not enough reasons to want to become a Rootworker but apart from that I also dream things that happen, and I've always had an interest in Rootwork just wasn't sure where to start. My question is, does anyone have any advice on what my next step should be if I wanted to become a Rootworker?

It sounds like you can do some of the work, which is a good start. Doing work for people you know is another good way to stretch out and test what you're capable of.

I'd recommend you get a reading on the subject, as well. You could either book a session with a member pf AIRR, or call into the Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour. A lot of people (including me) got their push towards going pro with a reading on the show.

The signup for next week's show is here:

Good Luck.

affie, Doctor Hob gave you relevant advice. I would also consider taking cat's course (http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocourse.html) and go from there.

*smacks head* I absolutely agree, and can't believe I didn't mention it. You should very seriously consider taking the course.

A psychic told me i haven't tapped into my psychic abilities yet. This is not the first time i have heard this from a reader. How can i do so?

I am aware that some people are more gifted than others and it doesn't happen overnight. Any suggestions?

If you want to start doing some divination, one of the easiest ways is by starting with a Pendulum. Lucky Mojo sells pendulums and you can find them here:

http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatdivinat ... #pendulums

You can read about pendulum work here:

pendulum-questions-and-answers-t755.html

Working with a pendulum offers instant gratification - you don't have to memorize or study, you can just jump in and work with your intuition right away! From there, you can delve into more complex forms of divination.. Divination/psychic work/being a reader is a beautiful path and one that I have never lost interest in, even after 38 years of study (beginning when I was 10!) I have never felt like there wasn't more to learn and explore! Best of luck on your joyful journey!
With love and light -

In addition to Madame Pamita's excellent advice, you can also work with the Psychic Vision spell kit to kick-start things into gear. The kit comes with everything you need to do the work: http://www.luckymojo.com/spell-psychic-vision.html and a mojo hand that can help you develop your gifts in an on-going manner.

Dreams are a natural pathway into your subconcious mind as is automatic writing. Working with morning pages (a few, usually three, pages of stream of consciousness writing upon waking up in the morning) and/or a dream journal can help begin to unblock things by allowing a daily space for intuition to emerge.

You can also work with Master Key to improve any magical skills, including divination.

Thank you ladies! I'm kind of afraid to start seeing things but if God gave me the gift, why not use it. ;)

You're greatly appreciated...

I shall pour out My spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions, and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit. Joel 2:28,29 and Acts 2:17,18

I was taught many years ago to keep a record of my spells, prayers, and even pressed leaves from herbs I have gatehered. I have filled three such books, and when I look back through them, I am reminded of my life in magick.

I love using a Book of Shadows. When I first started working with magic I used a black binder and regular binder paper. I decorated and it made it all my own, but over the years I've purchased pre-made journals. I get journals, or a Book of Shadows, or a grimoire, or whatever you want to call it; that I find beautiful. I keep my notes and the formulas that I have used, but I also write about my emotional state when doing a working. When I look back through my notes I can see how my emotional state may have impacted my workings.

Question... I've been using the psychic oil to dress myself and lately I've been seeing past events of my life more clearer now. What I mean about "clearer" is that I have better understanding of what went on. Do you think that's just me getting older and having more sense or maybe from using the psychic oil?

I plan on burning a psychic candle on me next using the oil.

Hi Gods Child,
It may be both. Keep working on developing your skill and in time you'll be able to discern which insights are coming from Spirit. I started with the Triple Strength Psychic Vision Mojo and found it to be tremendously helpful. I've had it for years and work with it all the time...in fact it's in my pocket right now!

I appreciate that this thread has started, and will be checking back in regularly for the suggestions and advice from the experienced and esteemed folks here. I recently have been telling my own mentors, colleagues, and readers here in town about my pull to get back into intuitive and psychic work, and nearly all of them hit me with a version of "well it's about time!"... more reason to have good mentors and teachers -- they often can see what talents, and weaknesses, you have that you can't... and know how to encourage you or give you a good shake when you're not feeling sure.

I have a stack of LMCC publications on my list to order, in the spirit of giving new methods a try. I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks, all!
