Today I am smoking about 6 cigarettes a day, which is still bad when I want to really quit, but compared to the 2 packs a day that I was puffing away on, it's quite an improvement. I have been trying to quit now for about 6 months and I am slowly weaning myself from them. It's not easy being around others who smoke daily . Below is a chart of how my progress is going.
1st Month - I was only able to cut down on a couple a day.
2nd Month - I cut back more this month than I have since I began trying to quit. I completely cut down a half a pack.
3rd Month - I slacked this month and started smoking almost 2 packs again. I really felt bad about myself.
4th Month - I was able to cut down to a little over a pack a day again and it really made my mood improve as well.
5th & 6th Month - For the last 2 months I have only been smoking 6-7 a day.
My goal is to completely quit by Christmas 2011.

Welcome to the forum. I am not sure what your question is regarding African American folk magic, but congratulations on slowly tapering down your smoking.
Some folks find help for this type of quest for independence from addiction by using Cast Off Evil products, or a Cast Off Evil spell that includes an herb called Knotgrass.
See

for some ideas for anti-addiction spells using Cast Off Evil products.
To order Cast Off Evil spiritual supplies, see

and consider having one of our non-smoking candle deacons light a candle for you at Missionary Independent Spiritual Church as you quit.
Good luck!

Re: My Long Journey
Lamont: Get some Crown Of Success oil and pray/recite something in regards to your deep want to phase out your smoking habit. Rub some of the oil on your hands and every time you go for a cigarette you will get a whiff (smell) of the Crown Of Success and will remember your goal---essentially having to "get past" the remembrance of your wanting to quit. I did this and other similar things and have been cigarette free for a little over a year. I had been at a pack a day, myself.
I do wish you luck, Good Luck, and hope you find some solutions you can put into practice on these forums and this website!
