Mary #721 (G) aka LiteraryLioness Intro

Unread post by Literarylioness » Tue Feb 10, 2009 4:55 pm

I am a graduate of cat's rootwork course. My rank and file number is #721 (G). I graduated in 2006. I am now spending my Friday's with cat at the Lucky Mojo Shop and having a blast! Cat is the best and so is her shop. Everything she touches is magic and top of the line all the way.

I have been involved in rootwork since I was 23. My first mentor was a rootworker/Houngan Gullah who I miss to this day, but he visits me quite often. I have been psychic all my life and dream true. I have been a psychic reader since I was 13 and have taught many Tarot classes. I have an affinity with the dead and they have been visiting me for years and are some of my closest friends. I am also a Mambo (Manbo) Asson in Haitian Vodou. My worker name is Mambo Mary.

I actually started out with Western astrology when I was seven. My mother had astrology books all over the house and I lapped them up. I would go to class each day and tell my fellow second graders their sun signs and pertinent info. I learned Eastern/Chinese astrology when I was 12 and use a system that incorporates Western and Eastern astrology. When I was in film, I lived in Hong Kong and studied with Eastern astrologers in my time off from work. I am a LeoDog like Madonna and Bill Clinton.

In another life, I use to make a living directing theatre and film production. I once dreamed of being the next Sydney Pollack and to head my own film company, but Hollywood soured me on filmmaking and after 25 I fell into the travel industry. I bounced around various travel writing gigs and ...traveled. I was always a writer and am still very creative and passionate about writing, especially fiction.

I am now working on my Ph.D in literature, so I can rot future brains with my mythical ideas and mountains of trivial information. Occasionally, I will be paid to write reviews for up and coming artists and cultural endeavors. I am an art and culture nut who loves to get lost in museums and listen to classical music. One of my dreams is to get locked in the Uffizi, in Florence, overnight and just bask in the art. Like that's ever going to happen!

Aside from rootwork, astrology, and psychic readings, I am active with other literary groups and am working on completing a novella for publication. I have two in the bag and only need one more for the publisher. With what free time I have left, I love to cook, especially deserts and baking. I went to culinary school and have a baking and pastry arts certificate, because I wanted to open my own bakery at one time. Needless to say, I no longer dream of waking at 3 am to be adored for my wedding cake masterpieces. I don't mind an "oh my God that is amazing!" every once in a while though. Cooking is a performance art for me  Did I mention I was a Leo? I am also a culture nut and love to spend days in museums and listening to classical music.

I am sure everyone knows me from the yahoo forums, because one of my hobbies is giving advance and I am quite vocal on the yahoo groups. I hope to share my big brain and many years of magical experience with those in need. I am also sure I will pick-up a few tricks along the way.

See ya around!
