Must We (and How Can We) Keep Rootwork Secret or Invisible?
Re: Must We (and How Can We) Keep Rootwork Secret or Invisible?
Thank you, Miss Aida. That very instructive indeed. Oh, it wasn't my post. I put on a question regarding a commentary by Miss Michaele to a previous post on this trend. The very last one by her, in which she repplies to Rosacanceriana.
Thank you again, ma'am.

But still, ma'am, if I may say so, this possibility of binding the spirit intrigues me. We have something that resembles that here in Brazil, but I would really like to know what hoodoo has to say about it.
Could you please redirect me to a trend more related to this topic? I would love to hear people's imputs on this matter. Might even provide for some valiable insights on this whole situation.
Of course that for practical ends I do understand it is more convenient to try to reach and sweeten the spirits, and any attempt on binding them would most likely be fruitless for the time being. But gaining understanding of how these things work is always welcome.
I might also consider some conjure consultation with other AIRR members in order to become more acquainted with their perspective on this matter. Quite interesting.

Re: Must We (and How Can We) Keep Rootwork Secret or Invisible?
I firmly believe in keeping quiet about being both a spellworker and any workings that I do, especially to other workers in case their energies interfere with what I'm doing.
In the past I've spoken about specific workings with another worker and have seen poor results which I attribute to them subconsciously connecting with my work...not nastily interfering on purpose, because she's like a sister to me.
So these days I do the work, keep quiet throughout and then talk about the results when I feel it's completed.

Thank you St. Martha, St. Michael, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael for your help and blessings.

Dear Miss Aida,
On second thought, ma'am, I think I might be falling into the same faux pas you warned me about during our last discussion of the black man of the crossroads, as you might recall it, which was approaching things that are not fitting to be discussed here. I apologise.
But as a last remark on this matter...if one can't separate the spirit from the person - I assume. We can't, right? -, bind it or as a last resource even reasoning with it is out of the table, how about weaking the targeted person's intuition in a manner that they cannot obtain these spiritual communications, even by the more subtle means? Does this make any sense, at all? I'm thinking poppy seeds in a skull candle, or a dollie filled with the poppy element, having it's eyes and ears bound, perhaps.
Does this sound reasonable?
Thank you again for taking the time in answering me, Miss Aida. You're always so thoughtful.

Re: Must We (and How Can We) Keep Rootwork Secret or Invisible?
Hi asturias,
What you describe with working s skull candle or doll baby with poppy seeds is a traditional way of causing confusion to your target. The purpose of that confusion can differ in every case, so if you want to confuse them in their approach to spiritual help for themselves, in order to weaken them, then that would be your petition.
It is always a good idea (and in keeping with the hoodoo tradition) to appeal to spirit for help rather than attempt any coercive approach such as binding. I think Miss Aida addressed this subject perfectly, so we can put an end to that discussion here.

Well, then that's that. Here endeth the discussion, if there are no accounts of people binding spirits or getting meddling spirits out of the way within the hoodoo tradition, or no known instructions on how to accomplish so.

So a spirit trap may be used to distract a spirit who is protecting someone I am aiming my spells at? Interesting. I amways thought they were meant to be used as protection against spirits.
Thank you, Miss Aida.

Hello friends!
When hiding the candles, can I separate the candles from the plate and herbs?
If we are performing a moving candle spell and there are herbs on the plate, can I unset everything and set them back together the next time I light the candles?

Hello, root ,
That is not recommended practice.
Can't you just take everything and place it all somewhere where it can't be found?

I can't hide it at home, have to hide it in my car, that's why I was wondering if I could unset everything... Or maybe I should just try a single candle.
Thanks a lot miss Aida!!

Re: Must We (and How Can We) Keep Rootwork Secret or Invisible?
I recently got Reconciliation incense powder and Marriage oil plus a loose incense burner delivered to my flat (I live in the U.K.) I share my flat with my boyfriend and our buzzer went this morning. He asked what I got from the delivery man, so I showed him the little incense burner only, NOT the LM Reconciliation incense and the Marriage oil. I simply said that I like to burn lovely smelling loose incense which I buy in from the U.S. Should this be ok as long as he doesn't see my other couple of products? I'm planning to work the Marriage oil and Reconciliation on him soon. Thank you!

My altar was found this morning by my ex who still lives in the house. He didnt disrupt too much, but I packed it all up and put it in my trunk so that he wouldnt mess with it anymore. I had a picture box, honey jar, a hot foot jar and vinegar jar...what do I do?!
Re: Must We (and How Can We) Keep Rootwork Secret or Invisible?
Hello, nena1974 ,
Oh, boy.
If he knows what it is, all of it could be disrupted.
My advice to you is to continue the work BUT f there's stagnancy, then deploy those and start new ones.
www.luckymojo.com/layingtricks.html
But, based on what you have been telling us, my suspicion is that he knows you're doing work on him. It could be another reason that everything happened the way that it did
If this is the case, then you would have to start all over again
PLEASE try to be more careful of where you place your work
Take care

I buried the hotfoot and vinegar jars last night. The honey jar I have in my trunk. I have had the altar in the same place for 7 years, not once has he come close to finding it. But in one of his frenzies last night he decised to go into that part of the storage room.

Hello nena1974,
I think that was a good idea to deploy the hot foot and vinegar jars. Sorry about your ex finding your altar and messing with it
Do you have your own bedroom? I bet you could keep your work hidden there, given that he respects your privacy at least in your room.
Good luck!

Thanks sister Jean. He has not mentioned it since that morning and I said "I am catholic and you need to respect my beliefs" my hope is he just forgets about it. In the meantime I do have to find a way to hide my work, I have my own bedroom but I dont trust that he completely respects my privacy right now

Hello nena1974,
I think that's a good idea, but if he doesn't respect your privacy, that is a whole 'nother issue. I've been stuck living with an ex before, so I know how it happens, but it might be time to start doing some work so you can get your own place and your privacy. Just my two cents.

Re: Must We (and How Can We) Keep Rootwork Secret or Invisible?
Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding my candle for the Triple Strength Come To Me Mojo Hand which I have been working on.
The situation is that when I was relighting my candle earlier today, I carelessly dropped the lighter and somehow could not be able to retrieve it. Not being able to find any spare matches or lighter get me quite nervous and I ended up taking the candle to the kitchen to light it up with the stove fire. My brother was in the living room when I passed by...I know burning candles is supposed to be done in secret but I have no choice at that moment.
So after I have finished the ritual (done in my room with myself only), I asked my brother if he saw anything and he said he just saw me holding a lit candle. He did not know about the rootwork and he didnt asked anything further about it. ( I know him well and he is never a nosy person so I trust that he didnt paid much attention nor interest at all).
But I am worrying that now with the candle being seen by my brother, will it affect my spell or is my spell completely ruined? I seriously hope not...I swear I will never allow this to happen... Thanks for your kind help

Re: Must We (and How Can We) Keep Rootwork Secret or Invisible?
Hi eye_candies,
No worries, hon! Candles do not have to be burned in secret at all. It's not any kind of rule, but rather some folks prefer to keep their candle spells secret because they have people in their life who wouldn't approve or would make their lives difficult. In fact, a nice sneaky trick is to fix a candle, then give it to your target to light in their own home as a gift.
Mojo bags are generally meant to be kept out of sight, but that's mainly because if another person touches your mojo, it will kill it. But as for candles, you are a-okay.
I hope that helps! Take a deep breath--all is well.
