Greetings from the Pacific Northwest.

Unread post by LeBaptiste » Fri Jul 17, 2009 9:35 pm

I am glad to see the forum is up and lively. I'm a long-time practitioner returning to my own after a what seems like a rather lengthy hiatus. I'm here to help, offer advice and learn what I can from the individuals here.

I've got a lot of opinions on how things ought to be done and will express them in the best possible ways when presented the opportunity. I've accumulated a good deal of knowledge, but I won't push it on anyone. I understand that everyone has their own ways and that's what makes this thing we call hoodoo so powerful in our personal lives.

One of the biggest hurdles I've had to overcome in this way is that, since everyone is entitled to their own way, with the exception of very rare occasions, it's best to not meddle with other people. It's hard to be unselfish and to have faith through your work that you'll be taken care of and it's hard to not try to do too much. I try to follow one of many simple rules, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". But then again, there are times when a little dose of justice is in place...and sometimes you're the one that has to do it.

I'm an alligator man. I've always been, since before I was born. My mother saw them in her dreams, dressed in suits...said they'd come to claim a child. I've seen them in my dreams my whole life. When I was young I even tried to climb into the alligator pit at the zoo, because I thought one of them was telling me to. It may have been, or it may not. But I've always felt a kinship with them and share a power with them.

I've got some old time remedies my great grandmother practiced, some older time recipes I've gleaned from listening closely, some new things I've picked up, and a decent knowledge of herbs and plants I'm just dying to expand. So without further adieu...

I'm always glad to hear from someone who lives not far from me. ( I live in WA.) Welcome!

Very good.

I hope you're enjoying this amazing sunshine we're getting right now. Seems like such a rarity.
