Why HELLO!!

Unread post by freecloud » Tue Nov 06, 2012 5:56 am

Greetings and salutations one and all. I'm Free in the land of happy little Clouds!

So happy to find this site. I have been a silent 'lurker' for several weeks now, gleaning information, making sure I dont ask questions that already have answers.... even tho that would require an AWFUL LOT of reading!

I'm a bit of a newbie, but not so much. For years I've just had natural instincts. For fear of getting a lawsuit from diz knee, "The Force is Fierce with this one". I feel things personally, not 'publically'--usually its situational. However, I'm really gifted with the basic herbs and spices. Whether it's knowing what herbs are good for healing (actual medicinal properties) or what herbs are good for casting.

I'll have questions from time to time--I believe the only 'stupid' question is the one left unanswered. Oh, and I remember reading 31 years ago "He who asks a question is a fool for 5 minutes. He who asks not is a fool for eternity." Ponderous, man. Real ponderous.

Do you see what I'm saying? (name that tune, and you'll understand me perfectly!)

Love and light!!
I remind you of the man...

Thank you for your kindnesses!

And much thanks for the list of links :D

I've been reading and perusing for about a week now, and a lot of questions that were remotely similar, I was able to extrapolate a few answers ;) Space is so vast....

Today in all actuality marks week number 5 of me reading this site.

I must say.

I've lost track of time each day! Brain is like a sponge, just absorbing...Have to take reading breaks of warm rice packs on my neck and shoulders just from sitting in the same position from hours at a time 8-)

A hearty thanks to all!

I've been doing lots of reading. SO much so, that when I went to the Lamps section, something triggered in the back of my brain from my childhood :o

My maternal grandmother.. was into hoodoo prior to the advent of LM!!!!

The trigger? I was reading some back issues of newsletters. There were some lamps there, in particular there was a 12 inch kerosene that was listed, underneath something to the effect of 'love lamp' or 'money lamp'...

That is when all of the memories started pouring into my brains!! I remember the lucky candles she used to have!! I remember the kerosense lamp she had with, in particular, a strange scented greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen oil, that she used to burn on certain days in her room, and I never understood why--she had electricity and lights on--she used to have all kinds of neat trinkets and stuff on top of her dresser! There's so much that I started to remember about her... sadly she left this mortal coil in 2003, but she was always my favorite. I dont recall her refering to 'hoodoo'--but I did hear her talk about putting the root on someone :!:

Like I said, there's a lot of things that come natural to me. I suppose its burned into the DNA or skipped a generation or something. Heck, my mother and my aunts all thought my grandmother was ~~crazy~~

Perhaps, if anything, I would view hoodoo in and of itself as driving. And how we get to our destination depends on how much experience we have with getting there. Kinda like going from Louisiana to California, most would take the 10. Ohio to points west... take 90. Those are the obvious routes. However, for more intricate places, one actually requires a map and best route, and not, as someone aptly put it (yes, I read *EVERYTHING* lol!!) "throw a bunch of stuff at it". I suppose that would equivalate to a bout of theoretical 'magickal tourettes' ;)

At any rate I hope to learn more... and I'm still reading!! I've given thoughts lately on things I have done and things I've noticed or come to realize from practicing without guidance over the course of years, and just from reading the site over the past two months. I've had moments of clarity that have made me giggle in the middle of the night while reading a few things and I just sit and go "no way!!", especially about sachets, and you'll see that in the uses forum. *That* particular item had me in virtual stitches!

Well, off I go into another exciting foray. I'm looking forward to both of my big orders from LM.
