I am an anthropologist (Masters), landscape historian (MLA), folklorist, writer, and artist in Montana who is also a graduate of cat yronwode's Lucky Mojo course. I am an old guy, going to be 50 this year, though something of an "old boy". Married and good with that. I am mostly interested in the pursuit of truth, wherever I may find it.
I have been to Africa, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and all over the mainland USA. Never to Europe though. In my own spiritual life, I was raised as both a Roman Catholic and in my animistic tribal traditions, which usually mesh okay (or don't conflict to my way of thinking), and when they don't mesh I use my own conscience and reason and trust in God. I guess I have an internal compass that I follow more than anything else. Truth is the main thing. I am also a social scientist and look at situations from many points of view. Besides science, Catholicism, and NA traditions, as well as hoodoo and other American folk magic, I delve into the traditions of my European lines as well: English, Irish, Scot, Welsh, French, Spanish, German, and Dutch. It looks like we have some Jewish and African way back there but not confirmed. The more you learn about yourself, the more you realize we are all connected, as the Indians say.
I am mostly interested in the magic of Place (including feng shui), and I also do some paranormal studies, connecting to folklore.
Now I am currently trying to connect the dots in all my interests, abilities, and experiences, in order to be able to make a living in these tough times, now and as I get ever more white-haired

Be strong,
Lance Foster
