Brian's Introduction

Unread post by brianbarracuda » Sat Jan 31, 2009 9:35 pm

Hello all,
My name is Brian. I am 24, and live in Southern California. I am a student in miss cat's conjure course and hope to graduate in the next few months. Like many here, I studied many forms of magic before coming to hoodoo. I first began learning about conjure while living in Charleston, SC, and have continued to learn conjure thanks to miss cat and luckymojo.com.
The greatest gift that conjure has brought to me has been the connection I feel to a dear friend of mine who passed away two years ago. The spirituality of hoodoo would really be good enough for me, all the other tricks are just icing on the cake :)
When I'm not conjuring I work, study (i'm a psych major), play guitar, read, write with my left hand, paint, hang out with friends and dance around my bedroom.
I'm a Gemini. Half of me can't wait to have an office job and the other half wants to just move to New York and tell fortunes.

Many thanks to cat and all the folks at lucky mojo.
thank you thank you thank you

Brian.

Namaste And Ehlo Brian!

I'd really love to hear more about your perceptions on Hoodoo and how you incorporate/work it in with your Psych Major, if that has played any issues for you or if it has been a blessing for you! I myself have considered taking on a Psych Major and going back to school but have yet to decide but love to hear of others experiences on how what they do or what they learn effects their mindset or even practice of hoodoo.

Blessings,

Michael

Actually, there is a lot of counseling in rootwork and I have gained a lot from studying psychology. I would say most of my psychic work is really counseling. In a lot of communities, rootworkers were the counselors of their communities.
