Donations for the Radio Studio Upgrade (#5682)

I was just asked in a private message from a student who did not want
to be named here why i don;t just raise the price of my lessons to
accomodate the cost of upgrading Dr. Kioni's radio studio and online
webcast precense.

Well, 'cause he's him and i am me, that's why.

I charge a dollar a lesson via email and 2 bucks a lesson via paper and
for that a student has access to me on this Yahoo group in perpetuity,
should he or she choose to join this elist. But i am not the person who
produces, hosts, or technically manages the radio show -- that is Dr.
Kioni.

Because the radio show was all Dr. K's idea and he does all the work
except for a bit of gabbing from the panelists (all of whom are great
gabbers anyway!). he is the one to reap the benefit of contributions to
the radio show fund and he gets to sell CDs of the shows if he wishes,
or charge for downloading them, or do whatever he pleases with them. So
far, he has refrained from charging for access to the radio shows and
thus he is asking for donations, just like a public radio station would
ask during pledge week. He is asking my students to voluntarily help
underwrite the cost of making the radio show available to ALL -- not
just to my students. I have sent a fairly decent contribution to Dr.
Kioni for the radio show fund -- won't you do the same?

And remember, the next LIVE show is this WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2005 at
10:00 PM Eastern time. Dara should be posting the dial-in number and
access code for those who wish to listen via the phone bridge and/or
take part in the call-in portion of the show -- and i will pass this
along as soon as i have it from her.
