Hi!

I am a male, 28 yrs. old living in the northeast. Folk magic has always been part of my upbringing by my portuguese family, especially the women. When I was 7, I remember my mother holding up a dollar bill to the sky and praying in portuguese "New moon, new Moon, make my money grow", then placing the bill in a white envelope and hiding it under the mattress.

I remember the rue bushes planted around our property, especially the front gates to the house. My grandmother told me it was to repel bad people from our house and putting the evil eye on us. I also remember her telling me never to pick the rue or mint in our yard after dark for some reason.

As I grew older, witchcraft and magic have been my main interest. I've always had an affinity with hoodoo, even though I didn't know what it was at the time. I frequented a new-age shop in my neighboorhood and started collecting books and pamphlets on magic, purchasing herbs and oils. Over the years my spiritual and magical beliefs have changed but I still feel that hoodoo is the strongest thing about me. It is the magic that I feel close to.

I have always found a home when reading through the Lucky Mojo pages. I don't know what I would do without it!
