Hello, and welcome to the Lucky Mojo Forum.
There are some similarities between Cuban folk magic that has an African basis and African American hoodoo -- but hoodoo contains many admixtures that Cuban folk magic would not have, particularly Cherokee and other Native American herbal traditions and English-Irish folk magical customs. The overlap between the two is primarily in the components that are African and also Jewish, insofar as Jewish magic remained a force in Spain while Spain was colonizing the Americas.
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Sicilian, and other Mediterranean Catholic practices had only a small role to play in the development of hoodoo. However, i am sure you will find enough similarities here to intrigue you, if you wish to learn -- and you will certainly find some practical ideas for spell-casting if your only interest is to resume a love relationship with your ex.
There is a lot more to conjure than returning lost loves, and i suggest that before you start casting spells right and left, you consult with a good reader who can divine the probable success of your work and also guide you toward the kind of work you might performs.
Since you are Cuban, i would receommend that you go to the Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers (AIRR) site and look up Dr. E. or Lou Florez. Both of them practice African American style hoodoo, but both of them also come from Cuban backgrounds and can work in a style more close to your family's traditions. Find them by going to the AIRR site at

and clickinjg on their names in the left-hand column of names.
Good luck to you!
