First Greeting of 2025 from bgenzoli

Unread post by bgenzoli » Thu Jan 02, 2025 11:49 am

Hey Ya'll,

My name is Bill, but I also go by the name Gwydion Pendragon. I've been a fan of Lucky Mojo for well over 20 years, probably closer to 30, at the risk of dating myself. I started following Lucky Mojo back in the 90s, so I figured I might as well join the forum. Glad to be here, and looking to take part of helping the young ones find easier paths to the same information we had to struggle with.

My background is FamTrad. I was raised Pagan, so it's all I've ever really known from birth. Grandma and Father were raised as such and it was passed down to us kids. This was back when there weren't as many books, and the guides that you did have were all relatively new. We wrote our notes on those old black and white Correspondence Books, and we shared what worked (and what didn't) by going over to each other's houses, bringing food, and talkin' shop. My first set of bones I had, was when I was 6. First set of tarot, about 9 or 10. First scrying mirror (well, ball, actually - my dad made it and fired it in my grandma's kiln), I was around 5. I never really thought any of it was weird (until I got older - and was naively open about it in school), at which point, I sort of learned to keep all of it a little closer held to my vest. I'm a student by nature and always looking to learn someone else's idea or slant on information. When you stop learnin', ya might as well die, like my grandma used to say.

I think teaching is the same way. If you're too old to teach what you know, in my opinion you're wasting everything you've learned because you're not passing that on to the next generation. My ancestors are watching me. I don't dare waste what they've given me, so I teach any chance I get.

That's a little bit about me. Glad to be here, and glad to be a part of it all.
Gwydion.

Welcome to the forum, bgenzoli (Bill Gwydion Pendragon) --

I am so glad you have chosen to join the forum. Your experiences, traditions, and knowledge are very welcome here. I noyiced that you already contributed to the thread about how peple with asthsma can use smokeless forms of incense to clear or cleanse a location -- great stuff, and well presented. Thank you.

And i agree also that if we do not teach, our knowledge dies with us. This forum is a testimony to the generous sharing by experienced practitioners in order to help many seekers. The Lucky Mojo Forum is indeed the contemporary equivalent of "going over to each other's houses, bringing food, and talkin' shop."

Our emphasis is on practical spell-casting, particularly within the African-American hoodoo tradition, but we also post links to places like the Association of Independent Readers and Rootworkers (AIRR), where there are pages on world-wide spirituality and the folkloric customs and religious practices of many cultures, including Paganism, both archaic and contemporary.

See https://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/ ... _Tradition

Thanks again for being here -- your contributions will be of help to this and following generations.
