London Calling

Unread post by Madame Morose » Thu Apr 26, 2012 3:22 pm

I am a awarness-campaigner living and working in Central London. I also volunteer my time to causes such as Black and Latino GLBT-rights, Religious-tolerance and Religious/Spiritual transperacy and accountabillity. My private research areas cultural antrohpology concentrating on native Colombian spiritual-practices and modern occult social-phenomena. I practice hoodoo but still have plenty to learn. Im fairly good at oil, incense, soap and powder making, but only for personal and private use. Im looking forward to study and share.

Thank you for the lovely welcome!
So the question still remains how I learned the little I know about Hoodoo. Im of afro-colombian mixed decent born in Cali. I lived most of my life in Sweden and went to school, college and one year open university there. I moved to london 8 years ago. London have its unique blend of hoodoo and urban magick-systems with strong Carribean Nigerian and Pakestani influences. Candle oil incense and soapmaking is quite inexpensive and easy to learn from a variety of cultures here, the hand made tradition is alive and thriving. They will show you for free at the local market if you got patience. Its in a non magickal context but good skills none the less. My occult supplier of choice mainly caters to hoodoo practioners and they had one of Kathryne's books ! Its brilliant. And helped me put some of my previous knowledge in herbal lore in to practice and refine my conjure practices. And ofcourse re-stock my herb, root and resin shelves at home. I followed the guidlines on the lucky mojo site. At the moment im brushing up on my skills in making conjure-bags and will be focusing on that for a while.
