Saint Jude Glass-Encased Vigil Candle, Fixed Questions and Answers

Unread post by mmcpower » Wed Jul 29, 2009 7:16 pm

I am new to burning novena candles and I just picked up a St Jude candle and was wondering if anyone can elaborate on whether or not the candle should be dressed with any herbs, oils, etc? Also I have been researching when I should light it and I have read either on Friday or Sunday, can anyone tell me when the best time would be? I do see that when my wish is granted I am to publish a thank you in the newspaper anything else I should to in gratitude?

Also one more question, what timeline should I give for the prayer to manifest?

Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Marie

Hi Marie,
Here's what little I know about Novena candles. For dressing your candle, you should use a couple different oils- St Jude oil, which LM sells- just do a search for it & you'll find it and a second oil that is related to what you're asking for. Make sure you're focusing on your request to St Jude while you're doing this. As for a good time to light it, I would pick an hour controlled by a planet appropriate to my wish, so for a money request, I would light it in either a Jupiter or Sun hour. When St Jude grants your request, it is appropriate to publish a thank you in the newspaper and if you can, make a small donation in his name to a charitable organization that matches well with your request. Also, give St Jude time- your prayer will be answered :-)
Best!

I've got a question on the way my St.Jude candle is burning...at first, the flame was very low (for almost all the first day) and I thought it was going to go out, and the glass at the top, on St. Jude's left side is a bit dark; now it is burning with a normal flame and the glass is clear, but the flame goes up and down and to left and to right, like if there's wind, but there is no wind...what does it mean? Should I do something?
Thanks.
Antonella.

There's a great book on the topic of working with saints called Magical Power of the Saints, it's available on the luckymojo website, about 1/4 of the way down the page here: http://www.luckymojo.com/mojocatbooks.html#682.

Some of the information in the book describes how to decipher the messages the candle gives through the way it burns. In the book, it states that generally, a lot of dark residue on the candle glass signifies a lot of negativity being removed from your prayer. Perhaps there was some negativity that needed to be removed from your prayer, and now it is gone and burning clear. The book also talks about how to read your flame's behavior, but I do not remember about that now and no longer have the book. I recommend you check that book out, it is full of information and is very helpful for understanding what's happening with your prayers.

There's a page on candle divination here http://www.luckymojo.com/candlemagicdivination.html. I have the same book LeBaptiste's referring to, and the information is the same as far as vigil candles. LM has a bit more information, including divination for offeratory and other free-standing candles.

Hi Im a firm believer in St. Jude and he has always come through for me, I dont know much about the meaning of the way the candle burns. The way I was taught was that if the flame was high and moving it was a great sign, if the candle burns small almost ready to burn out it wasnt too good and if the candle burns out completely then thats bad. Can someone give me an answer PLEASE!!!!!

Dear All,

Greetings. I am new to the forums - I found a post related to candles in petitions to St Jude through a search engine search but have lost the thread now I have registered, and the last answer to it was in December, so I thought I might as well open a new thread. My apologies if this is not the right thing to do...? :)

What colour of candle should I use to petition St Jude in a matter involving neighbours/former friends, their child and a serious dispute between us which I really would like to end? I thought of using a white candle (as red is for passion and romance, not really appropriate to my problem, and green is for financial matters of immediate urgency, which really has nothing to do with the petition I want to make), but I understand white really suits litigations and legal matters more than personal relationships.

I found somewhere in this site a novena using a pink candle, which according to many books is the colour for overcoming evil, love, morality, friendship, harmony, etc., which really suits my purpose in petitioning about this by now hopeless situation (I have tried everything, begnning by plain, face-to-face dialogue with the parties involved, through withdrawing completely and completely self-effacing to the point of not even daring to make a noise in my own house just not to interfere with my neighbours/former friends' lives, to exploring the possibility of moving which turned out to be not such a good idea for many reasons and even not really possible at this time, but nothing seems to have improved the animosity between us).

Does this sound right? Is pink what I am meant to use for this, or does anyone have any other suggestions as to what is appropriate?

Thank you in advance, and I look forward to hearing from someone with any idea about this!

God bless,
Seeker

White is a universal color and can be used for any purpose. St. Jude's colors are green, white, and red, but I don't know if he is the right saint to petition. My understanding is that he mainly helps with impossible cases, usually of a medical or emergency nature. Peaceful Home might be more appropriate in your case.

Saint Jude novena candle colours are traditionally either green or white in my experience. Ours at Lucky Mojo are green.

I lit my second St Jude candles last night to help my gym soul mate back (also petitioning st dymphna for the same reason). I let the candles remain as I went to sleep and all was good. When I woke up my St Jude candles holder (simple glas's case) we split clean at an angle with the wick faceing toward the broken pieces . The top is very sooty though. I'm worried here what this means. I'm working with a root worker who said working additional with these said would be ok. Should I email him to ask what this means or am I freaking out over nothing ?

Thank you

Hello all. If I call on St. Jude for a specific job what would be the appropriate prayer for this situation and what day should I start it on? Also what would be the thanks I give after my prayer is granted? I've seen make an ad in the newspaper. Would an online ad be just as good?

Hello, mi55understood,

The prayer is here:

An online ad is good and a donation to a charity or church in his name is also good.

Wishing you the very best

Take care

Our prepared 8" glass-encased vigil lights come with a dressing of oils and herbs and will burn for 5 - 7 days, depending on ambient temperature and other factors.

If you wish to set a traditional Novena of nine days, you will either have to start and stop the candle (which can result in a smoky glass), or purchase two candles to run continually over the 9-day period.

Always practice fire safety when setting vigil lights. If you must keep them lit when you are away or asleep, be sure that no pets or children can get into the room with them, that they are not near curtains or flammable cloth or paper, and that you have a smoke alarm in your house. Placing lit vigils in the bathtub is quite common, but you must not have a shower curtain if you use this method. Setting them into a fireplace is ideal, as there is a ready-made chimney for them.

I am living in a very run down motel that I just used more than half my money for for a week. $330 per week. I cleansed with what I had best I could. Washed floor with mixture of himalyan epsolm salt and florida water as well as some oils (prayed over).

I then setup an ancestor altar along with a 7 day white candle for my ancestors and then in front of that a Saint Jude 7 day candle. I purchased both candles from the dollar store. This is a very cheap St. Jude candle (not sure if that makes a difference) and I had previously bored holes in it and put oil and put more oil in addition to that. I have never burned one of these dollar store 7 day candles before (not sure if they are all the same but it's not the same maker as previous 7 day candles). Anyways, I am concerned because the St. Jude candle is getting very black at the top, and has black smoke coming out of it non stop. But it got really dark in the past few hours (just at the top). The white candle it also black at t he top but not near as dark and isn't a raging flame like the St. Jude (and doesn't have black smoke coming out of it).

I need a better job which I went and applied for today (a few) and likely have an interview on Wed. I also need a place to live that is affordable and close to area I am job hunting now. Current job is will barely cover this motel.

So a few questions:

1) With that information, what do you think it means? What should I do (if anything)?

2) Do you think I should put the St. Jude candle out? I have always let them burn but the soot is so rampant and flame so intense I worry.

Hi Againstthegrain144,

We cannot do capnomancy on the forum, you can book time at the Association of Independent Readers and Root Workers. https://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/ ... ootworkers
We also cannot speak about the quality of items not purchased from Lucky Mojo.

We can give advice.
-Yes, put this candle out, either it's burning oil or dust that is impacting your results. It will set off the fire alarm and get you thrown out.

-You want to stop anyone from talking bad about you, write your name paper with "Anyone talking Shit about me" and put that in a baggy or small water bottle with Alum and hot sauce, pray over it "Anyone who speaks shit about me, may their mouth dry up, and burn, may their eyes sting, and tongue swell up in their mouth", add a small amount of water and freeze.

- You need to take a bath with a cup of vinegar, make sure you get your head, then pray Psalms 23 https://readersandrootworkers.org/wiki/Psalms_23
- When you go to the business to apply have some Cinnamon Sugar in your pocket and sprinkle it when you walk.

Best of luck,
Mr. Christopher

I am slightly confused and have a few more questions and an update if you don't mind,

Name paper:
What makes you recommend that I do a name paper with someone talking shit about me, or why did you say that ? How does that affect a working like St. Jude? Alum means aluminum foil?
I have some corked bottles I can use for this.

Vinegar bath:
The bath, is that necessary because the candle burnt black smoke and has black soot at the top? Any particular type of vinegar? I do not have a plug for the tub here so it would just be a bath where I dump it over my head.

General:
Should I burn another 7 day candle afterwards?
I have some 6" candles of different colors. If I had time to get your products mailed tro me I would but I only have 5 days left here and I can't get stuff mailed to me.

Everyday life action:
I was supposed to get a call this morning from one of the managers at a place I went into yesterday, to setup an interview, but he didn't call. So if the results were affected I want to fix it (if possible) and get on the right track. I am going to try calling them and asking for him in a bit.

Current state:
As for the St. Jude candle, it is no longer burning black smoke and the flame is burning more normal, it's just jet black at the top. With that said, would you still recommend I put it out?

Looking forward to having a place to call my own and being able to try your products. Thank you for your guidance so far.

Thought I should add, I called the business and I have an interview on Friday. I have to acquire some cinnamon for these interviews, I have one tomorrow as well. Do I need to obtain whole pieces of cinnamon that I break up or does it not make a difference?

againstthegrain144 ,

1. Alum is a mineral that is used to silence people or opposition. This can be helpful when applying for jobs, to silence anyone who opposes you or a former boss speaking ill of you. Aluminum foil is used to wrap the outside of jars (sometimes) and placed on altars when burning candles to safely collect wax without dripping on expensive items.

2. A spiritual bath is used when one (yourself) needs cleansing, a good example of why you need to is because the candle is burning dark, this indicates a hold up, a block, even possibly someone working against you. Is a bath necessary? Cleansing is an important part of hoodoo in removing crossed or negative conditions and brining good conditions into our lives. White Vinegar would work for this, you can also use a cap of ammonia in water to cleanse, or make a strong cup of coffee and wash downward in that, coffee is known to remove curses.

3. After cleansing you may redo the work, watch the candle for signs in the wax and how it burns.

4. It is always best to do physical acts that support the work, such as asking for a job, then getting out and applying, calling the managers and following up. This is an area many people do not work on when doing hoodoo and it is important, it supports the work.

5. The candle you are burning is not a Lucky Mojo candle, we do not know 1. the quality of it, 2. how you dressed it. If it is burning safely while you are petitioning him, and the black cleared up, this means you have resistance but with effort and energy ( cleansing, calling the people, keep applying) you will have success.

6. Cinnamon can be any shape for the work, you can wear it on your body for success in money matters. I would personally, write out the name of the person you are interviewing with, turn it to the right and cover it with your petition statement of what you want. Add a sprinkle of cinnamon, add this to your right shoe. Go to the interview and tap your foot with the paper in it to influence the manager.

This forum topic is on St. Jude and his product line. We went a bit off topic for you on the last two post to help guide you in how to read a candle, do spiritual remediation based on the candles signs, and how to work other hoodoo tricks along with petitioning the Saint.
