Hello from all over America!

Unread post by mimigil » Tue Jul 03, 2012 1:19 am

Hi everyone,
I'm Mimi. I've been listening to the radio show for a while and finally decided to join the forum. I won't bore you with a long autobiographical recitation. I'm in my 40's, drive a semi for a living, am an avid crocheter, in fact I'm pretty avid about most of the textile arts. I'm ordained clergy with The North Carolina Church of Wicca( NCPCOW), married and happy. We spend our free time bbetween Charlotte NC and Reno NV, where my father in law lives. I'm hoping to make plenty of friends here and learn a bunch.
Nice to meet everyone in advance.

Hi mimigil,

Welcome to the Forum! I'm also an avid craftswoman and encourage you to look at combining conjure and the textile arts: they work beautifully together.

Bright Blessings.

Thanks everyone!
You know, aura, thankis for bringing that up. I've been working craft into my Craft for years. I started sewing before I could walk, practically, and went to school for dressmaking and design. I make ritual clothes for members of NCPCOW and such. Poppets, love mats, prayer shawls, bags and all kinds of goodies! I've had lots of success, but think I could really improve. I'm so looking forward to learning more about this aspect of hoodoo.
I'm half Italian and I remember the little old ladies in my neibourhood talking about sewing stuff into the "love mat" for making babies. But that's all I remember. Nobody showed me anything, so I've been sort of making things up as I go.

It's hard to sew otr, but I do needle craft all over the place. I'm currently working on 12 afghans as an offering to Ma Donna and prayer shawls for the church charity.

Let me stop now before I blab too much. I get really enthusiastic about this kind of thing!
