Who knew I'd find Hoodoo at this point in life?

Unread post by Dancing Goat » Thu Jul 26, 2012 12:42 pm

I've recently been reading about Hoodoo and find it quite fascinating. I look forward to sharing with others with similar interests. I originally was reading along the lines of green magic but then got caught up in Hoodoo. I am located in SE Virginia.

What do you mean by "at this point in life"?

I know what you mean about getting caught up in hoodoo. I originally intended to study rootworking as just one of many potential magical paths, but I have recently decided that hoodoo covers all the bases for me.

Like you, I have been interested in many different paths since I was a young girl. What I meant by "at this point in life" was I am no longer a "young" girl. Will be 58 on my next birthday.

Ha, I suspected as much. I will be 59 in November. I did practice magic as a teenager, in a very stupid and dangerous and unfocussed way. I got back into magic about 2 years ago, and quickly gravitated to rootwork and to Lucky Mojo in particular. I have not regretted it.

It's never too late to find your path. I have studied magic and religion since I could read, but only started practicing hoodoo about three years ago. I'm turning 54 in August.

Other than the HHRM book that I have on order, can anyone suggest any other books they feel are "must reads" for hoodoo? I have a few that I downloaded to my Kindle but I don't know whether they are considered as authentic, for lack of a better word.

I'm posting because I wanted to say, "Hello!" and also want to see the response to your question! This way I think I'll get notified. (I'm new to the forum so still getting the hang of it.)

I'm glad you found something you resonated with!! It's such a great feeling :)
