New, but enthusiastic!
Hi all,
Not sure where to start here... I am rediscovering my spirituality after a long break (of many years) from any kind of religious practice or spellwork. There were lots of different reasons for that... But I suppose I see myself more of a spiritual seeker than anything else these days. I used to consider myself Wiccan in my 20s, so I'm familiar with a variety of Western occult practices and the modern Pagan movement in general, but I no longer identify with any one particular path - I'm just feeling things out at the moment. And among other things, I've been investigating the folk magic traditions of my family and my ancestors.
In particular, I found myself returning to the Catholic mysticism my Nana introduced me to when I was a child, and in searching for information on petitioning saints and candle spellwork I stumbled upon Lucky Mojo... how "lucky" indeed! What an amazing resource - thank you so much to Mme. Yronwode and all the wonderful people who share their knowledge and wisdom here! I was new to Hoodoo, but I've become an avid student, steeping myself for a few months in the material found here (despite this being my first post). I'm looking forward to putting my first order in shortly (I've just been using what I have around me so far). I'm also considering taking the course, but I'd like to become more familiar with the basics and with LM's products first. I will say that I feel much more at home with Hoodoo than with any other magic tradition I've encountered so far.
Oh, maybe I'll add that I'm in Southwestern Ontario - not Toronto - and I'd love to connect with rootworkers or conjurers who are nearby...
Thanks for having me!
