Hello everyone!
My name is Paweł, Im from Poland.I hope to learn about Voodoo Hoodoo from you as much :)
My english is not good, but I'll try communication :)
I have a question to you... I'm beginner in Hoodoo I get only one book "The Voodoo Hoodoo spellbook by Denise Alvarado" There are important topic about psalms... A lot psalms is about Jesus Christ. I have a problem with it because I dont belive in jesus and I dont like christianity religion. I dont know what to do with these "psalms" apparently are very imporant... May I can change name Jesus to my Slavolic god like Perun(Thor) or Swarożyc(Odyn) It's good idea?
In Poland we dont have informations about Voodoo Hoodoo all is banned... If You have any free information about practice please leave here any link.
You guessed what I wrote? :)

Regards!

Hi Pawel! Although Christians recognize the Psalms as sacred writings, they are part of the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament). They were written by King David and other Jewish writers before the birth of Jesus. Some may have been based on Egyptian hymns. You do not have to use them if you don't want to.

Hoodoo and Voodoo are not the same. Hoodoo is a system of folk magic that originated with African-American Christians. Voodoo is a religion that is primarily practiced in Haiti. Some practitioners, especially in New Orleans, practice both.

Hi Pawel and Welcome to the Forum!

To continue your learning, Miss Cat has made available a free on-line book on Hoodoo in Theory and Practice here: http://www.luckymojo.com/hoodoo.html It can help define what hoodoo is and isn't and guide your future studies.

With regards to the Christian aspect of rootwork you're referring to and the use of hoodoo without the Christian component, consider reading through the following Forum threads which have some interesting food for thought: hoodoo-&-religion-voodoo-wicca-santeria ... 10231.html & secular-supplies-&-spells-vs-religious- ... t2860.html
