I have found that tranquility does wonders for stressful situations. You may want to begin with a cleansing followed by protection.

MoonBreath: I take baths and use oils for this, yes. I speak with the deities that I work with for additional protection and luck. We cleanse our home with oils and incense weekly, at the minimum. We use Florida Water, Chinese Wash, Camphor Squares, Mirrors, etc. Basically, if you can make this part of your daily practice then it gets taken care of "automatically" as you go about your work. I am extremely sensitive to my surroundings and have found that since i have developed a routine that includes many products and works, I have been much, much more "shielded" as of late.

Thanks for the replies JW and Joseph. I'll add mirrors ( facing outside ) and Tranquility products to my home cleansing to beef up protection.

Within the last couple of weeks I have not been sleeping and have been having major anxiety attacks. At first I thought maybe it was just the combination of school (Full time Cosmetology student), and work. Then I figured well I changed birth control its a hormonal thing. But I'm beginning to really wonder whats up. Within the last week I have discovered that it is not only I who am getting sleepless nights and anxiety, but my boyfriend as well. We have tried the normal things, drinking calming tea before bed, not eating so late at night, flipped the mattress heck I have even taken a couple days of school for mental health days thinking maybe I'm just to stressed. But neither of us has been sleeping and its beginning to really eat at me that something else is up. If anyone has any idea's of what I could do. I'm just getting into the Hoodoo research and reading but I haven't really delved that far in yet. I'm worried that we are both just going to snap if we don't get some good sleep soon.

Also my income is rather low end at the moment, with school I get minimal work. I have some basic herbs/candles but nothing super fancy except jasmine tea.

Thank you ahead of time, and if this has already been asked about feel free to simply redirect me to another thread.

Some other things you can try are limiting television viewing at night, especially television shows and movies depicting violence and disturbing images; cutting down on caffeine intake during the day, especially in the afternoon and evening; and using Tranquility products and lavender.

Bible passages that might help you:

It is pointless that you get up early and stay up late, eating the bread of hard labor, because God gives sleep to those he loves. Psalm 127:2 (CEB)

Stop worrying about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34 (CEB)

I think I remember a lucky mojo podcast where somebody recommended cut-and-clear products to help a hoarder separate from their things.

I also like the idea of cast-off-evil oil because I do think there is an addictive quality to hoarding.

(I'm a bit of a hoarder, and I get very overwhelmed when I start to try to take on the house. I'm quick to shut down and just tune out my environment. I'm not sure what the answer is, but I'm thinking crucible of courage might also help with the anxiety issues around getting rid of things.

Now I just need some "Do it Already!" oil. :)

Cast Off Evil would be a good type of product to work on this as well what has already been suggested above. One thing I would invite you to consider, GoodLuckNatalie, is to break down the "taking on the house" into smaller and manageable tasks that build on one another to the ideal outcome. :-)

Mama Micki has covered the practical side; now for one of the oldest tricks in the book: open a Bible to Psalm 91 and lay it under your bed. This is the psalm that says, "Though ten thousand fall at my right hand and ten thousand at my left, it shall not touch me."

Some people aren't comfortable with laying a Bible on the floor, so they put it beside their bed. I had a client do that and she told me that her persistent nightmares have all but disappeared.

Good luck and good magic,

Sure, you could do that. Another verse from Psalm 91 which makes it even more appropriate for sleep issues:

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor for the arrow that flieth by day.

NKWalker: Some great advice given by Miss Michaele and Mama Micki. Both of these ladies are great with quoting The Word.

Nana 664: look at Miss Michaeles advice about The Holy Bible next to the bed.

I was recently in the home of a local client. She had a beautiful family Bible. A family Bible is important in the South. It used to qualify for official "birth records". That's how important it is. Anyway, this client had notes, and extra informational pages "stuffed" into the (it must have been 70-100 years old) family Bible. I said to her, "Look at what you are doing to the seams of this beautiful Holy book".

There is a lot of information in The Forum about The Holy Bible and sleep. Just remember that The Word of God is real. The Bible is a living breathing representative.

I am so glad that we have Miss Cat and forum Mods like Miss Michaele (also a member of AIRR) and Mama Micki and many more who can quote The Word!

Be Blessed!!!

I have placed a glass of fresh water by my bed each night and in the am flush it down the toilet that helped with night terrors. as for anxiety, cat has a spell in her book to help relieve mental stress with all spice see pg 27 inHoodoo herb and root magic. last I say as a person who has anxiety, what helped me was learning about it, what causes it, the negative thought processes of it and seeking medical profession. I was at a point where I had 2 hours of sleep a day and felt like a weight was on my chest, my arms tingled from it. You may not like medicine as many dont but at a point you have to realize that a hollistic approach medicine, life changes, thought process and some hoodoo can be the trick to your over all success and better mental health.

Try cleansing your home with Chinese Wash and incense. I was getting woke up at night all the time - felt like someone was touching my face. It was driving me nuts! I cleaned the house with some Chinese Wash and Pine-sol, said the psalms, used incense - then burned white candles and sealed the doors and windows for protection. After that, I slept much better and whatever was waking me up was gone. There are instructions on how to use Chinese Wash and house cleansing here on the site. Give that a try, along with the other suggestions. It really helped me.

I actually just read that part of [Matthew/i] yesterday and was about to recommend it.

For something you can get at Wal-mart, Chamomile tea helps one relax, as I can personally attest to. Lucky Mojo also sells Chamomile tea.

Another thing you can do is get a blue candle and dress it with Tranquility oil and pray to whatever deity you worship to help you. Or if you're secular you could write some kind of poetic spell that doesn't invoke a god or saint.

Hi NKWalker,

in addition to the excellent advice in the thread above, once you've checked your sleep hygiene and worked with The Word, you could also consider try the following:

1-draw a warm bath prior to bed and spike it with a strong blend of lavender and lemon balm (melissa) tea. these will act both magically and herbally to soothe tension and draw in sleep. After the bath, massage your feet.

2-make a sleep pillow stuffed with hops, lavender and poppy petals (optional, but the petals are great if you can get them). The herbs will also help to usher in sleep.

3-make yourself a toast with ghee (or butter) and honey and then sprinkle it with about 1/8th of a tsp. of nutmeg. Nutmeg is a sedative in herbal medecine and brings good luck in hoodoo (particularly with respect to gambling). The honey sweetens you toward sleep in the rootwork world whilst in ayurveda it's an anyupan (vehicle, delivery method) which sends the herbs into the system better.

4-if you can afford a few products, Tranquility and 7-11 Holy product lines can help.

5-if the insomnia persists, make sure that you see a medical professional to ensure that there isn't another physical cause for the problem.

Blessings and sleep to you.

Thank you all for the wonderful advice. I finally broke down and began taking a sleeping pill until I could get some items together to do a cleansing. Will certainly try laying the bible under my bed as well.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the problem is the negativity at my school, and there really isn't much that I can do about it as a whole. I go to school with approximately 200 girls (cosmetology) and maybe three boys. I think there just ends up being to much estrogen and to much snippyness.

I may also try to find something to carry around with me to maybe give myself a little bubble of calm so that while I'm at school I can just focus on the work and get things done instead of dealing with the big mess of emotions that run rampant through the school.

Thank you all again :) I appreciate the information, and help given!

Hello !!

I would like to know which is the appropriate oil to use in order to conquer fear to drive?

My daughter's friend is learning to drive in a very crowded city. where people are very aggressive and not respectful of the transit laws, she is terrified but in this city, driving is a must.

What can she do or how can I help her spiritually?

I would start with Safe Travel products, add Protection or Fiery Wall of Protection, and maybe Crown of Success to bless her mastery of this vital skill and Crucible of Courage to help her feel mentally up to the challenge. .

If she's learning in her or her family's own car, she can draw eyes on the headlights with Safe Travel oil. The inside of the car can be dusted with the powders, dressed with the oils, washed down or sprayed with dissolved bath salts, or smoked with the incenses.

If she's learning in a car owned by a driving school, she can bathe with these products and carry a Safe Travel mojo.
Hope this helps,

Oh! Well, in that case, start wearing Boss Fix and Influence to work. Take a little spray bottle full -- you know, those "purse-sized" cologne spray bottles -- and put a few drops of those oils in with some Peace Water. Spray them in the bathroom, the supply closet, wherever EVERYBODY has to go.
I may also try to find something to carry around with me to maybe give myself a little bubble of calm
How about a mojo bag of basil, rose, bay leaf, and black snake root, fed with Tranquility oil?
so that while I'm at school I can just focus on the work and get things done
Crown of Success oil too, then.

Hope this helps,

I'm new to posting, so here's the story. My ex-husband apparently received a package in the mail for his girlfriends kids. That has something illegal according to US Post Office. I just has a Postal Inspector come and talk to me, showing me a picture of this envelope. My problem, I have severe anxiety, diagnosed from a MD. I can't stop thinking about this, I have lucid dreams about this case and totally unrelated scenarios. I wake up and I don't even know if it was a dream or if it was real. I will sit there at work and my dream will flash in my head and I don't know what's happening. Did that happen,or was it a dream? I know I have done terrible things in my past, which I have spending years trying to forgive myself and move on with my life. I so scared that when taking the polygraph, that my dreams will interfere and I won't know what's real. Is this like a false Karma from my past wrong doings, which were not even close to something like this. I'm scared my ex is trying to set me up, which wouldn't be the first time. He and his ex-mistress tried to before our divorce court date. He has boxes of personal belongings that have hair, glasses with finger prints and so much more. Please help with oils, baths, prayers, spells, anything that will help me resolve my sins from the past and help me through this and just make this go away. :?

country_girl,

You say you've been diagnosed, but are you receiving treatment for your anxiety? While you can do spiritual work to augment medical treatment, it isn't a replacement for that treatment.

If you feel like the weight of things from your past is a burden to you, now, you could certainly undertake a round of 13-herb baths, and maybe a good, thorough spiritual house cleaning. You could take a look at Lucky Mojo's Uncrossing spell kit, which has the components to take those steps.

http://www.luckymojo.com/spell-uncrossing.html

You can also post a free prayer request at the Crystal Silence League, and let the kind people there send you their prayers:

http://crystalsilenceleague.org/prayerrequests.html

It bears repeating that these steps are not a replacement for medical care. Do not neglect your health.

Best wishes, and Good Luck.

Yes, I've been treating my anxiety for over five years, with therapy and pharmaceutical. It is helping, along with praying to become a stronger woman. But this has just escalated that feeling of everything that can go wrong, will. I've been lighting purple candles for power for myself. I can be more powerful, and not allow the thoughts to take over.

What are the best herbs for healing grief and anger and COOL down the anger? Can Lemon leaf be used to cleanse and clear past anger issues?
Also besides master of the woods to give this person the strength and courage to deal with the healing process and face the issues that need to be dealt with?

Hello Little Star:

Love your forum name by the way! That is the Indian name of my first neice and she is just my favorite girl!
Anyhoo, to get to your question. Althea is considered a great "soother" also Lavender comes to mind as does self-heal
But as for the strengthening work you are thinking on...I feel that those are kind of "opposing energies" and you should choose only one of them to work on this situation. Do you want to strengthen them so that they are able to overcome, or do you want to ease and soothe their pain so that they can overcome...do you see what I am saying? there is the idea of working "hot and cold" but that is usually for love situations when you are working to bring one person to you as well as send the other away. I am sensing intuitively that for this particular situation you should choose one way that you want to accomplish this goal and then concentrate on that. Hope this helps!

There are a variety of herbs designed for health and healing. I have listed a few here for her reading.

Althaea Leaf and Root
Self Heal
Comfrey Root
Lemon Mint
Peony Root

I recommend that you purchase a copy of cat's book Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic that includes 500 herbs, roots, minerals, and rare zoological curios. An excellent read!

I have a guy friend who is going through a separation . He's been married about 20 years to his wife and they have kids together.

I am interested in possibly getting closer to him. We have already been intimate but I told him that I would step back to not make things more complicated.

He has shared that his wife has a lover even though she has tried to hide it from him, but he has figured it all out. He currently resides with a good friend of his . I have been over to their place. All his things are there. I can tell he still has feelings for her but it seems that she has moved on. I have even had the priviledge to meet her.

Let me just say .She seems ill to him. As if she cannot stand her husband but yet she doesn't want him to be with anyone else.

I was going to get them back together for the childrens sake but it's obvious these two are going to do nothing but keep separating they have done it before but it seems that this is more serious this time. This is the longest they've been separated about 11 months now ...

any suggestion on how to get her to get closer to her lover and let her husband go and visa versa for him to come to me ... I want him to come and let me nurture him first then the love can grow in the meanwhile dont want things to go fast between him and I . He's not really needing a rebound girl yet but a friend... I'm willing to be that friend now..lover later.

thanks in advance for suggestions.

Use Cut and Clear on her and pray that she will let him go. As for him there is plenty of Love Oils here to use as well as honey jar varietys.

Would it make sense to use Cut and Clear for a similar purpose within a moving candle spell for a break up?

I'm wanting to heal my broken heart. But I was wanting to light a zodiac candle for myself too.
The many colors of Taurus??
The Master Book of Candle Burning by Henri Gamache says my color is red, but the fixed candle for Taurus is brown. Can I use either,or both?

Well I did a cut and clear for her to move on . Seems like the normal thing to do as for as her moving on .

I had a reading done on the situation as well. She is playing games with him. Wants to have her lover but doesn't really want him to move on. That is understandable. I remember when I "hated" my ex of 7years. It's hard to move on and not have any anger for some women.

Hopefully it will help . I cried during the work because I know the pain.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi again lol...

Well this is the same guy I have done the Cut & Clear for the wife to move on. (They have been separated and was supposed to start a business together but now I'm hearing that she is spending the start up money on a trip. Wow.)

I had a looong talk with him and he seemed to be down after sharing with me the full details ( I did a Compelling Spell to get him to open up more lol..he's a Scorpio & we know how secretive they can be). ..anywhoo..the wife has claimed the kids and isn't using the money as well as he'd hoped. He currently has no job but he find ways to make money . Sleeps on the floor at a friends house and is currently looking forward to getting to work at the company where his wife works to help increase his finances for him & his kids. (He loves them to death that is all he talks about).

I would very much like to help him which was my intention before getting physically involved and I have stepped back (as a friend) to clearly see the picture

BUT he's very independent and I'm not trying to step on his toes or make him feel like less of a man. I have plans to help nuture him back to health..he's lost to much weight in the past couple of months. He's chugging energy drinks and smoking weed (Cast Off Evil should helps since is not a REALLY bad habit of his ). Burning calories and stressing a lot. I told him he's going through anxiety and he needs to slow down. I have anxiety myself so I know the outcome. He's depressed.

Yesterday he expressed to me that his is broken and feel like he cant give himself to me (he's not mine anyways they aren't divorced) he talks about hanging out with me all the time calls me several times a day and we have looong chats ..upbeat ...always talking about future plans how things would be if he had money and a car. Ugh.

I want to help him find activities to do. Healthy, motivational, possitive activites. We've discussed working out several times but I think he needs to be nurished then bulk up later lol.

He tells me I can come over anytime but since he lives with a guy friend of ours I have to be considerate of the situation of coming to someone else house even though he's paying room and board. I also think that he wants me to come over so that he can see if I'm really serious/interested in him but in reality I'm letting him be him. Not trying to be clingy or pushy at all. He even admits he's all over the place, physically and mentally. He wants to slow down but he doesn't know what it is. I had the same issues last year and I'm just now slowing down lol...it helps with anxiety to keep moving.

We get along great and he and I being business partners would be a possibility he is very much on the same page as me . We have talked about doing a lot of activities together . He wants a job also. But if he's smoking that going to hinder him getting one because of the urine test ...

We both love and is interested in doing music. Something along those lines to keep him occupied and motivated is what he really wants...and I am interested in the same thing. We share the same friends with the same interest but its hard to trust people these days with your time and effort to get anything done but i can tell he's just as passionate about this as I am.

What do you suggest to do to help him calm down or possibly rest for a while he really needs it . He hope in next two months he will move out of the friend's house and have a job.

I am willing to do some Road Opener he has a lot of blockage. I think most of it is insecurity in the long run ...

Hi KrystalK,

Road Opening will definitely help over the long run, but until he's calmed down a bit, do keep in mind that it's the kind of work that can usher in a whirlwind: it isn't called ''block-buster'' work for nothing. Thus keeping it all tempered with King Solomon Wisdom, Tranquility, Healing and Clarity can help a lot. You probably want to do some of the Healing, Clarity and Tranquility work prior to opening those roads. Baths are particularly helpful in this type of situation. If your friend won't use bath salts that you've repackaged for him, then you could also bathe a doll baby in his name. A good combo to mix up for him could look like this:
-1 part Healing Bath Crystals
-1 part Tranquility Bath Crystals
-1/2 part Clarity Bath Crystals
-1/2 part King Solomon Wisdom Bath Crystals
-1/2 part Nature Bath Crystals (not only sexual vitality is improved, this formula is also helpful for improving physical vigour and health)
-1/8 part Cast Off Evil Bath Crystals
-1/8 part Cut and Clear Bath Crystals
Combine all the crystals, mix well while calling for help for your friend and praying. Package in a nice jar or bottle and give it to him as a ''de-stressing'' bath blend. Tell him to relax at least 20 minutes in the bath while reading a good book - you could even get him a good book on music or music business along with the crystals.

Later on, in conjunction with the Road Opening proper, some John the Conqueror and Crucible of Courage can help bring it the qualities needed to see change through to its end.

Blessings and success in your work with your friend.

I have been having some problems with nervousness/anxiety, especially when at work or out at the store, and I'm wondering if an amulet would help and if so, how should I go about finding one?
My question is essentially two-fold:
1:Can I make one or use a piece of jewelry I have? Or do I have to buy one?
2:If I make one myself, how should I bless it?

I have a jasper necklace with purple, pink, and green jasper that I was thinking of using, if that helps.
Do you guys have any particular rituals you use when blessing/making amulets and protection jewelry?

Question: are there specific workings for depressions? It's about severe ones with (ancestral) family lines that have depression in them too. The worst symptoms are suppressed by anti depressives which is a soothing blanket and not a real cure. There are no major additional personal or mental issues. Thanks

Wendy Rose,

Serious depression, especially with genetic / ancestral lineage, is a medical problem as well as a spiritual one. We cannot diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medical treatments, but for those who are interested in adding spiritual work to their medical approach to depression, we do have a web page on "Blessing" which includes a "Blessing Spell for a Depressed Person." It is part of my free online book "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice." Read it here:

Thank you so much! I cannot do much about medical conditions but should be able to at least a little ease in the situation. Since it is not a very simple situation I am hesitant to just start without looking for good information and experiences.

Hi,

This is my first time posting, so if I'm doing this wrong, be gentle.

I had an affair with a married man, I'll call him man#1. It got to the point where I wanted more than he could offer, so I walked away. I wanted to end the affair, and there is no animosity. Even though we seemed to be a perfect match, he wasn't willing to leave his wife and I wasn't willing to just be the other woman.

I have since met a wonderful man (man#2) that I'm crazy about, but I can't get man#1 out of my mind. I dream of him. His name comes to my mind and lips.

I did a honey jar on man#1, and it did work. He was very sweet to me, just wasn't going to do what I wanted.

What can I do to get him out of my head? I want man#2, he is good to me (with no spell work!), but I keep thinking and dreaming about man#1.

Help!

Apollo Dark

In addition to Apollo Dark's suggestion, you may also want to consider the black walnut spell. You'll find more about that in the two following links: black-walnut-bath-questions-and-answers-t3819.html & http://www.herb-magic.com/walnut-whole.html

BIG UPDATE:

*It is now CONFIRMED. Wife is PREGO by the other guy.

* My friend who I did a FMB /Love me spell on did come to me . , however...thing were going to fast and my intention for the love spell was not clear of mind. when I did it to keep him from hurting while moving on from his wife to be more into me. I do love him deeply. In some way the work made me fall for him hard aslo. So I have recently undone the effects of this work.

My Next Steps is to still be his friend but to help our love grow slowly . Things were just going to fast. Since undoing this last work of LOVE ME/FMB he has started to think that I want my ex back and that I dont really want to be around him. We have been trying to find a car together and we are already starting a business with each other. And we get along wonderfully in that department (music production, singing). He is very talented and loves to help and I love to assist him :).

The thing is I had so much other healing work to do for him before things got real serious. I have been there as a friend but I wanted to help other issues he was going through ..(weight, healing, job, he walks everywhere to get to work, see his kids ,etc) since then he has gotten a job and he is moving on fast. However I want his love for me to feel a little more genuine now. I just dont feel right with him loving me more or with work being done only on him.

I would love to perform something that will possibly help our love grow and also for me to be included along with the work. I dont want this to be a one sided event :) I want to share the love but without binding just help our love grow...etc...

suggests would be nice

Extra Details: * we have been looking for a car together. with a new car I will then be able to get a job . we also would love to do some traveling that is all we talk about not far but just in the outskirts of the city. He says he doesnt feel comfortable with being in the same are with his wife being with this guy and
* the affair has been going on with wife & other guy for over a year he just finally got his closure
* people know about him and me and he has no problem with letting them know or see him here or kiss me in public.
* he knows that I am into "works" and he wants me to teach him which is odd because i never really told him I do things of this sort but he has a strong pull for learning about works and spells that he blatantly gave me permission to heal him and help him banish his cigarette habbit lol (it was cute how he did it he just asked outta no where the doctors have recently told him he need to stop smoking . He doen't smoke much but he is scared. He was told he needs to stop smoking he has some lung damage).

I've got an interesting situation.
Target is suffering from depression and has shut out the world and is basically a hermit. Stays to oneself, doesn't talk to anyone etc.
The mother has been a real torment whilst growing up.

This is what I'm planning:

For the target:
A simple honey jar with some loving herbs for self. Pink candles dressed with love me(for self), healing, St. Dymphna oils.
Possibly a white doll baby to speak pleasant thoughts to

For the mother:
Doll baby or candle with alum in the mouth?
Honey jar to sweeten mother to target?
Both?

I'm kind of unclear as to what can be done with the mother. Perhaps remove any darkness around her?

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

That would be the goal.
At present the target is "hermitized"
There needs to be some kind of momentum to encourage seeking out counseling/medication/ etc.

Please use the proper pronoun, ie. he, she, him, her.

I recommend Cast Off Evil, Healing, Blessing, Rose of Crucifixion.

St. Dymphna is a good start for matters of mental health -- but when actual medical care is needed too, I like to work with Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez at the same time. They work well together.
Your target needs some Solomon's Seal root, Self-Heal or Allspice in his honey jar. Maybe all three, so he can make wiser decisions in a calmer state of mind.
(If you work a series of skull candles, you can anoint the eyes and ears with Clarity or King Solomon Wisdom oils and powders! You can also build a sugar-box instead of a honey jar -- choose a large, flat box, so the skull candle can sit on top!)
About the mother: I wouldn't sweeten an abusive person to her victim -- not until they repent. Alum in a dollbaby's mouth is good, but I'd also hogtie her and put her in a bag (or box -- or mirror box!) filled with boldo.
Best of luck,

First things first lets clarify the target as a she, thank you Mama Micki.
I believe I have some Cast off Evil, and Healing oil. Perhaps I should order some Rose of Crucifixion.
Maybe I can massage these into a white skull.

Miss Michaele,
Beautiful!
I will petition Dr.Hernandez to encourage her to seek professional help.
I was guided to get some more herbs for the Honey jar and Solomon' Seal Root, Self-Heal and Allspice did come up. Thank you for the confirmation.
Other herbs I found in cat's book are:
Coltsfoot
Cocoa
Hops
Rosemary
Smart Weed
Thyme
Violet
along with Frankincense and Benzoin
Would the above 3 be sufficient, or all of the above?

.
Intuition led me to stuff the skull with a photo, name on back 9 times, shred of clothing, deer's tongue, tobacco black, and aspand to help her talk, find self or reach her, uplift.
I then carved her name on the back and "clarity" on the forehead.
I anointed it with vanvan, St.Dymphna, Healing, and St. Michael oil
It burns very gently for about 3 hours every night, speaking uplifting calming words to it, or letting the angels do their work.

I LOVE the idea of using the skull on top of a sugar jar! Should I put the petition in the sugar jar?
The Skull was just started so, it hasn't melted everywhere yet. Is it better to complete this work as is and start a new skull candle next week on a sugar jar?

Regarding the mother:
LM seems to be out of Dolls at present. I wonder if I took a black devil candle and carved the "<target's name>'s Mother" on the back (I may have a photo), hollowed out the mouth and filled it with alum would be a good idea.
Can't really hog tie a candle though.
I will call LM to see if they have any dolls at present. Would a black one stuffed with batting be ok, or the one full of herbs?

Being such a "lady-heart" I haven't done this kind of thing. So this will be a first.

Thank you for the wonderful suggestions!

orion wrote:Other herbs I found in cat's book are:

I would mix it with Blessing incense, as described in the book.
Cocoa
Again, only one spell is listed: a bath with cocoa hulls. I don't know where you could get them.
Hops
Is she troubled with nightmares? Well, it might be good for insurance, so to speak.
Rosemary
An excellent choice, I believe, for a woman who needs to gain mental strength and take charge of her life. And since we're speaking of courage, don't forget Yarrow and Borage:
Smart Weed
...To reinforce the Solomon's Seal; not bad.
Thyme
Mostly used to keep income stable and to ease worries about money. If this is part of her trouble, yes, include it.
Violet
This, according to HHRM, is a love herb, although I see it is on the "Mental Health and Well-Being" list at the back of the book. I'm not absolutely sure you need it, with all the other great stuff you have going on.
along with Frankincense and Benzoin
Definitely burn these as incense. The use of incense resins in a honey jar or sugar box just sounds odd to me.
Would the above 3 [the herbs named by Miss Michaele] be sufficient, or all of the above?
You can do plenty with the three herbs I named.

Your work with the skull candle sounds wonderful!
I LOVE the idea of using the skull on top of a sugar jar! Should I put the petition in the sugar jar?
Put a NEW petition in the sugar jar. it can be the same as the one you put in (under?) the candle, or include things you have thought of since.
The Skull was just started so, it hasn't melted everywhere yet. Is it better to complete this work as is and start a new skull candle next week on a sugar jar?
If you see this before there are any wax drippings, put the sugar box under the skull candle that's now burning. Otherwise, start the sugar box under the next skull candle.
Regarding the mother:
LM seems to be out of Dolls at present. I wonder if I took a black devil candle and carved the "[target's name]'s Mother" on the back (I may have a photo), hollowed out the mouth and filled it with alum would be a good idea.
Yes, a great idea -- and traditional, too.
Can't really hog tie a candle though.
No, but you can still TIE IT UP. And gag it once you've put alum in the mouth. And blindfold it so she doesn't notice all your work.
I will call LM to see if they have any dolls at present. Would a black one stuffed with batting be ok, or the one full of herbs?
You can do effective work either way. As you do more rootwork, you'll develop your own style.
Being such a "lady-heart" I haven't done this kind of thing. So this will be a first.
Yeah, me too -- but I'm beginning to think "lady-heart" can include "Don't release the hounds until you hear women and children crying."

Best of luck,

Thank you Miss Michaele,

You put a real smile on my face.

There are no drippings from the skull candle as of yet. So I will go today to find a nice jar for sugar.

One question about skull candle work.
I find that the skulls burn very slowly.
Ordinarily does one talk to the skull for 3-4 hours a night, or simply talk to it light it and pinch it out after it has been running for 3-4 hours?

The size of the candle does lend itself to be about 20+ hours, although I've never really burned one to see how long it would take.

I'll order the recommended herbs today and add them as soon as they arrive.

Side note: Isn't it interesting the Borage oil is high in Omega 3s, lack of which is a contributing factor to depression. Excellent idea!

Thanks for the in depth insight.

I talk to candles while I'm lighting them and then let them burn (half an hour a night for tapers, an hour or more for skull candles, and straight through for the five-day vigil lights). And sometimes I come back to say a little more if I think of something useful. And to observe signs, of course.

I didn't know that! How cool! :D
