Greetings All:

I am new to this forum and have applied as a part of the instructions to attaining an apprenticeship with the Hoodoo course. My name is Rev. Brian Layng (a.k.a. Rev. Amortus). I am an Interfaith Minister and the Bishop of Canada for an Interfaith Church. I have studied a wide variety of faiths over the course of the last 30 years; though my own practice is in Conjure.

I have worked with the Catholic Church, studied Franciscan Spirituality, with the Anglican and United Church, a Non-denominational. I am a Devotee and a Child of Santisima Muerte. She has been around me my whole life and all of my studies have guided me to a better understanding and better working relationship with her. I have attained my initiation in traditional Witchcraft and my third-degree High Priesthood in Wicca. I have studied Ceremonial Wicca and Celtic Druidism. I have learned about Asatru and Heathenry. I have studied Buddhism and Shamanism (Native and Celtic). I have earned my Reiki Master/Teacher in 7 systems including Usuie Ryoho and Usui Teate, Celtic and others. I am learning more about the Gnostic perspective and the Essene perspective as I go. But my devotion is ever to Santisima Muerte (who is my Spiritual Mother and who I refer to as "Mother") and my personal practice is in Conjure!

I am wanting to learn more and more about the practice and take it more public for my area and for my Church...and this requires proof of education in that field of study (Conjure/Hoodoo) as well as proof of training and education in other fields, before I can fully register and attain my goals; which are to establish my own Church and open my own store with my fiance. I have one other goal that is nearing completion but am not ready to mention publicly until I have all of the information and all of the proper procedures in places for Copyrights and all of that. It is nice to meet all of you and I look forward to learning and growing with each of you!
