Lucky Mojo Internet Technology Departmental News Updates a.k.a. Ernie's Friday Roundup!
We've been going great guns for some time now sprucing up the Lucky Mojo website. Hundreds of new products have been added. And, our most recent endeavor has been the addition of new images for our complete lines of Catholic related products... Oils, Sachet Powders, Incense Powders and Baths. Our aim is to keep our website the most extensive and informative of it's kind on the internet! With such a huge inventory of items, it's a challenge just to keep everything updated and clear... easy for our customers to use. Suggestions cheerfully accepted!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
I think this website is so intelligently designed and user friendly! Thank you for making it really easy to navigate. There are a few products that I would like to see more detail written about. For example, there are some product lines that include powders, oils, incense, bath salts that don't have a description. Being fairly inexperienced, those descriptions really help me when I'm making an order.
Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
If you're fleshing out Catholic products, may I suggest adding some photos for the Holy Medals and other jewelry? I purchased a St. Michael the Archangel ceramic oval pendant sight-unseen in my order a couple weeks ago, just hoping for the best, and it is really lovely . . . so it's a shame that people might be hesitant to order such things for the lack of a photo.
(I have worked in e-commerce for years, though, so I do understand if LM doesn't move enough of these for them to top the list of priorities.)

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Hey Fellow Conjurers, this has been an interesting week of new additions to our LM website. We're engaged in a long term project aimed at updating all our product info with new pictures and expanded informational links for all of our products.
Our recently completed "Mojocat" project made sure that all of our available products are actually listed on our website catalog. With the thousands of products that Lucky Mojo caries keeping the catalog current is no mean feat! Remember, if you have problems with our site, or notice areas of potential improvement, you can bring these issues to my attention by emailing me at ernie@luckymojo.com. I welcome your input and look forward to working with you to make your Lucky Mojo experience a better one!
Love to all,
Ernie

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Hey there fellow conjurers,
It's been another busy week here in the digital trenches at Lucky Mojo. New items are coming in all the time, and it's a full time job posting them to the site and making them available to our wonderful customers.
This week's additions include a book on Dowsing, "The Divining Hand," by Christopher Bird. This large volume is a study on this ancient art.
I first learned to use divining rods in 1972 at a school called The Institute for the Development of the Harmonious Human Being. My teacher was a Sufi master named Rashad Field, who was an initiate of the Mevlana Dervishes. I astonished myself by helping friends search for lost car keys in parking lots and for underground water line breaks. I found I had a great natural facility for this endeavor and it has remained a part of my spiritual arsenal ever since. I've since lost track of Mr. Field, and the Institute (which at the time was located in Crestline, California) is no more.
If you're curious about this venerable and ancient art, then you should check out this fine new volume!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Sweet! When I was visiting the sacred sites in the UK a few years ago our tour guide took out divining rods in order to help us find the ley lines (or energy lines) in the earth around these sacred sites. It was really fun to experiment with and see how the energy lines seems to flow with the stones as if they had been placed on these energy centers intentionally. When we got home from the trip we made our own set and started to test out the area around our home. It is really fun and interesting.

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
It's Friday the 13th and we're just waiting for Jason to get here! He promised he'd show and he said he'd bring Freddie with him this time.
Seriously, I just added some new products to our amulet line (while re-labeling some existing ones). These items are all part of our Turkish anti-evil eye amulet line. These lovely, colorful items are a wonderful addition to any altar and are excellent pocket charms. After all, we could all use a little more protection. Just go to our Amulet and Talisman section in our online catalogue, then click on the link to "Turkey" and you'll find them. We hope to add pictures of these items in the near future, but the product descriptions describe what they are like quite well.
Casting and warding off the "evil eye" are an intimate part of my upbringing. I'm of half Italian descent (on my mom's side... more on her later!) and the evil eye is an important part of Italian cultural heritage. My maternal grandmother used to say things like, "Life is a wheel, it all goes round and round." Despite being a devout catholic, she believed in reincarnation and followed many old traditions that are part of Italian Stregheria (witchcraft). My mom was also a very powerful practitioner who continually astounded me with demonstrations of her gift. I promise to tell some stories in a later post. Meanwhile, love to all of our friends in cyberspace!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
A big shout out to all our friends in hoodoo land! I've been consumed by my work on the website this week. Our Lucky Mojo web pages have a great new look thanks to some awesome work done by Lara Rivera. The Catholic and Hindu sections of our mainline products (oils, bath crystals, sachet powders and incense powders) have been seriously tuned up with new links and some new images making these sections far more informative and fun to browse. Our website is a fantastic constant "work in progress." Each week we strive to provide our customers with a more informative and user friendly website.

It is always nice to see the many additions added monthly. It keeps me looking through the catalog and references pages often. I'm sure I can't be the only one who feels this way. Glad to see that the Catholic and Hindu sections are getting a spruce-up. Bravo!

Lucky Mojo Internet Technology Departmental News Updates a.k.a. Ernie's Friday Roundup!
Hey mojo-ers' Been hard at work adding new products and updating pictures and prices for our existing line. I wanted to take a moment to reply to thedabara and some other folks who've asked about more images for our products. Thedabara had expressed an interest in particular for more images of our catholic holy pendants. She bought one sight unseen and LOVED IT! Her feeling was that pictures on the website would prompt more folks to order these lovely items. I COULDN'T AGREE MORE! We are trying our best to get good images and more extensive product descriptions for all of our products. However, with over 6,000 products offered for sale here the task of obtaining and posting appropriate images is a daunting one. Rest assured, we are trying our best to get this task accomplished. Every day new products are being added and sometimes the packaging and appearance of existing products change. So be patient with us... we will try to provide you with the most convenient and best appearing website in our field! Love you all!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Well, the Lucky Mojo website is a constant work in progress. this week I've been fixing up our "Saint Simon/San Simon Maximon" entries in our catalogue.
San Simon is a bit of an anomaly. The image, and indeed the persona, that graces our products has little to do with the historical Saint Simon of the Catholic Church, and much more to do with "Maximon." Maximon is actually a pre-Columbian Mayan god of the underworld! If you're unfamiliar with Maximon, you should immediately go to our http://www.luckymojo.com/maximon.html information page and read the fascinating history of his evolution to his modern day form. It's another instance of local, ancient deities being "sort of" co-opted by the Church to broaden i's appeal to native populations.
I think what I love the most about my work here is the fascinating occult/esoteric history that I learn on a daily basis just from my contacts with Cat Yronwode. Everyone should take the time to check out the remarkable storehouse of information available on our site gratis! Till we chat again...

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
First off, please accept my apologies for missing a post last week! Needless to say, we've been quite busy. Plus, I'll be performing an entirely new set of tasks here at the shop. Seems I've been selected to deal with our extensive bookstore. That means I'll be doing the inventory-ing and organizing of our bookshelves here in our shop and making certain that all available titles are listed and easily order-able online. I'm a lover of books going back to my childhood and my infatuation with the children's room at the main branch of the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. Around the walls of the children's room were glass cases containing beautiful dioramas of scenes from Alice in Wonderland. The most wonderful and magical part of my time in that library actually took place NOT in the children's room, but in the audio-visual room in the basement. Besides showing films and slide shows, the room also served as a small lecture hall. In that hall, every Wednesday afternoon for a three month period, Mr and Mrs. Cronin told stories. The Cronins were the last of a long line of traditional Irish storytellers (pure oral tradition). I was one of a very few children allowed in these proceedings. Most of the attendees were graduate students from the local colleges and universities with their tape recorders and stenographic typewriters. I and the other kids who were allowed to attend were chosen because we were quiet and respectful as we listened with rapt attention to the remarkable tales of the old wise women and little people who populate the tales of Irish folk culture. This upbringing did a lot to prepare me for my work here at Lucky Mojo. The legends and lore of the "hidden" world have been part of my life from the very beginning... More later!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Hey fellow conjurers,
Hope everyone is doing well. Work continues apace on our continuing update of the Lucky Mojo website. I've spent some time updating our "Magical Scented Inks" pages. Bat's Blood, Dove's Blood and Dragon's Blood inks are nice additions to one's ceremonial practice. Check out the info pages for these inks to see if they're something that you think you could use in your practice.
I was first introduced to ceremonial magic in the early 1970's when I started reading the works of Aleister Crowley. I found a group of like minded souls and we began our adventures in Magick together. Needless to say, given the historical period, this was a somewhat self indulgent, carnal enterprise. Those familiar with Crowley's work will understand what I mean by that. He was a proponent of what he called "Sex Magick" and we were young and uninhibited, so you can well imagine what went on.
I hope that my recounting of my personal history in relation to magic and hoodoo is okay with all you forum go-ers. Let me know if you find this irrelevant or (perish the thought) offensive to you. I'd like my posts to be both helpful and entertaining.
Love to all,
E

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Greetings fellow conjurers! It's been an exciting week here at Luck Mojo. The range of my responsibilities has greatly expanded... I mentioned in my last post about my new duties in the Lucky Mojo Occult Bookshop. Well, an entirely new task has been handed me. I'm now the moderator/administrator of our new FACEBOOK FRIDAYS GIVEAWAYS! Each Friday we will be offering prizes from our product line to our customers who are also our Facebook friends. Please take a look at this week's offering, a special Friday the 13th giveaway that we will be awarding to 13 lucky friends! Just go to our Lucky Mojo Facebook page and enter with a simple comment! We're always trying to make Lucky Mojo a more fun, interesting and informative place to visit, either online or in person.
On a side note, I'm working on my memoirs concerning the trajectory of my life as a hippie/mystic/conjurer. Stay tuned to my Friday update for more on that.
Love to all,
Ernie

Hey fellow conjurers!
This week has been a busy one... I've been learning how to deal with Facebook (NOT familiar territory for me!), and have successfully posted the New Facebook Friday contest onto both the Lucky Mojo Facebook page and in our Forum (right here in another post). One of the reasons I love my job here is that this "old dog" is learning many new tricks. I'm grateful for the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skill set while having a great time with my friends here in the shop. There are many fascinating aspects to being here at Lucky Mojo, and conjure and magic are just a part (albeit a very important part) of my work.

Love to all in our conjure community!!!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Greetings fellow conjurers!
This Friday update concerns BOOKS! having been an avid reader my entire life. My mom read aloud to me from my earliest recollections, inspiring a lifetime of literary interest. It was only natural, then, that I should be put in charge of Lucky Mojo's Occult Bookshop. Right now, I'm focusing on organizing all the works that are published by Lucky Mojo and our affiliates like The Missionary Independent Spiritual Church. These include titles by Cat Yronwode, Nagasiva Yronwode, Deacon Millet and others. My work will gradually expand to include all of the fascinating titles available from Lucky Mojo.
In the meantime, i'm still deeply involved in Facebook Friday's, which, if you haven't already, you should immediately check out...
Facebook Fridays!: December 27, 2013
This weeks offerings focus on our Cut and Clear products... just in time to set the table for an exciting new year!
Till we chat again, I remain your humble servant

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Organizing the Book Department is HUGE.
We haven't had an actual Book Wrangler on board since Gwen left, and things were starting to get confusing.
Putting the storage areas into order is step number one -- and after that comes revising the inventory, followed by stocking the shelves, making muck-needed purchases, and updating the web site ... and by then it will be time to start the cycle all over again!
Love ya, Ernie!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Greetings Fellow Conjurers!
Time to update everyone on my week's activities. Two days ago, we began our spiritual cleansing of the shop. This involves a full-scale physical cleanup combined with a spiritual blessing/cleansing. We set the stage for a bright new year when we do this. I recommend this for everyone who maintains an altar/spiritual space in their work. Nothing like the fresh clean smell of Chinese Wash to brighten up a work space!
Friday's are also the day that I put "Facebook Fridays" up for another week's giveaways. This week we're featuring "Money Drawing" products. The first prize is a lovely Money Drawing Honey Jar Spell Kit, a really lovely item. And, the second prize is an equally wonderful Money Drawing Mojo Hand! We round out the giveaways with a fixed vigil candle and one each of our Money Drawing oil, Bath Crystals, Sachet Powders and Incense Powders. Get yourself on over to our Facebook Page and sign up!
Meanwhile, my work on the Lucky Mojo Occult Bookstore proceeds apace. I'm slowly getting it all organized. This weeks challenge includes our Catholic and Hindu Holy Cards, which I've discovered are part of the bookstore!
These are very lovely items and I look forward to familiarizing myself with the entire line.

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
A sad event occurred in our Lucky Mojo community this week. We saw the very untimely passing of Dr. E. We're all quite upset by this. Dr. E. was a young man (late thirties) yet succumbed to a heart attack. We ask that everyone in our community send their prayers and thoughts to his family and friends. There's also a memorial fund at this link. http://www.gofundme.com/69hym8. Any and all contributions gratefully accepted.
Meanwhile, my work reorganizing the Lucky Mojo bookstore is proceeding apace. Soon, all titles will be available for easy ordering!
Love to all... Bookshop Ernie!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
The Lucky Mojo Forum is the best place on the internet to get straight, honest answers about the theory ad practice of hoodoo, instructions in down-home rootwork for various conditions, and prompt replies from both the public and our trained moderators on how to use Lucky Mojo hand-made spiritual supplies. After five years and more than 133,000 posts, we have updated and upgraded the forum software.
The Forum doesn't look very different except that the background green is be a bit brighter. However, the functionality is greatly improved.
You can now jump directly to the most recent post in a thread.
You can now subscribe to threads.
The forum's search capacity (admittedly always pretty feeble) has been enhanced.
Session ID numbers that complicated the URLs of threads or posts have been eliminated.
The site runs more quickly.
Thanks to nagasiva yronwode and Nathan Lee Caldwell for all the hard work.

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
We are rolling like a thunder storm here. The merge project has reached its first goal -- no more than 60 topics (one page) per condition forum. (The product forums have more than 60 per sub-forum because there are more than 60 products per category). And we are now reaching past 143,000 total posts --- amazing!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
Well, it looks like the Lucky Mojo forum has been manicured pretty well
Evidently, there were close to 10,000 topics and we are now down to around 3,900. It was a very TEDIUS and time consuming project.
Thank you to Joseph Magnuson for your tremendous amount of help with this project
And a special thank you to Miss cat (who did most of the work)
Rightfully so, Miss cat and I have earned the nickname: "The Merging Monsters".
And a very very BIG thank you to our forum family members who were considerate enough to avoid starting unnecessary new topics. This is really appreciated. And a BIG help to all of us.
Congratulations to the forum!

We are upgrading the Lucky Mojo Forum today to include new features and it may be down as long as 5 hours, between 12:30pm and 5:30pm Pacific Time, so if you notice that we're offline for that period of time you'll understand why! Thanks for your patience!

Re: News From the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Shop
About a year ago t started lurking at this forum to see if I could get help with a bad love situation. Reading other people's stories has almost been like group therapy for me. I decided not to cast any spells, and to walk away from the person who was cheating on me. I then used a very basic spell (personal stuff in a chocolate cupcake) to fascinate a new guy, and it worked "just like magic." He doesn't seem to need any further "work," but I got his hairs, in case. I decided to drop by and say "thanks" to everyone whose questions and answers helped me, even if I never spoke up and asked a question myself.

Hello, Forum Family Members,
I am aware of the 120 posts that are spam.
Have tried to get rid of them but I am having resistance. And I believe Miss cat and nagasiva are sleeping.
So, we will work on this tomorrow
I am so sorry for the inconvenience
