Jupiter Vigil Candle Questions and Answers

Unread post by Michael B » Wed Feb 23, 2011 3:49 am

A couple of days ago, I received my order from LM (thanks !).

One of the items is a glass encased, fixed, Jupiter Candle which I got primarily for the purpose of "connecting better" to Jupiter while consecrating my silver and tin Jupiter Pentacle Talismans (2nd & 4th).... Anyway, I'm wondering if I should trim the wick before I light it ? I'm no expert, but it looks somewhat on the "long" side to me, and I have half a memory of something like 1/4 inch to be the correct length. I plan to let the candle burn continuously.. if that is even a factor.

Thoughts ?

Thanks !!

Michael

Hi Michael! Yes, do cut the wick and save that extra wick. The reason being if the candle goes out for any reason and wont light, you make a hole next to that burnt out wick and put in the extra wick and light it to continue the work. :)

I cut the wick so that it is flush with the lip/lid of the candle. Great idea with the Jupiter candle for that work....inspired!
Good luck,

Perfect - that's just what I was looking for. And thanks for the tip regarding the wick trimmings, I'll be keeping it handy (hopefully, I won't be needing it though) !!

Love and and Wealth candle spell question...

Unread post by VenusInScorp » Fri Jan 17, 2014 9:56 pm

Hi All,

A quick back story before my question...

Yesterday I lit a Jupiter Vigil candle and wrote a petition along the lines of receiving luck in the areas of wealth. I also lit a white 4" candle with Cleo May oil with the intentions of attracting a man with money, I also rolled my dressed candle in some left over incense powders. The white candle burned clean the whole way through no remains, everything was great. I feel strongly that the universe worked in my favor quite quickly, as I received TWO phone calls last night from 2 very wealthy men that I hadn't spoken to or even thought about in several months. They both invited me to meet them in their respective cities in February!

The Jupiter candle is still going fine, no issues there.

I forgot to mention above, I incorporated attraction, blessing and wealthy way incense to my work last night....

Today I lit a Venus candle with a petition asking for love and wealth and listing the criteria that I want in a man. In addition I lit another 4' white candle and dressed it with Cleo May, Chuparosa and Jezebel Oil. I also rolled the dressed candle in the residual incense powder. Again today I lit attraction, blessing and wealthy way incense.

The white candle I burned toady started off with a beautiful high flame and I felt really comfortable, like the universe was again talking to me, as I asked during my prayer for a sign.

Closer to the end I added a line of sugar from my Jupiter candle to the white freestanding candle and a line of sugar from the Venus candle to the white candle. Then I sprinkled a circle of sugar around the white candle to sweeten the spell a bit. I also lit more attraction incense and petitioned to the spirit of attraction to bring me everything that I asked for...

Once the white candle got the the end there was a bit of residual wax left in a puddle but the wick was still on fire and quite high. I attributed this to the oils and incense that I put on the candle and thought of it as a great sign. This is where things got strange. The wick would NOT go out although there was no candle left and then the sugar started boiling, bubbling and melting, the flame went down considerably THEN the sugar and wax mixture caught on fire. I had the candle positioned on a piece of foil and I was afraid that the fire would burn through the foil. I didn't want to blow it out so I took the piece of foil and submerged it in a cup of water I keep next to my altar. Once everything was contained I poured the water with the submerged foil in a vase of roses and put the residual ashes in there as well.

I read about what it means if your candle catches on fire and I'm praying that isn't the case here since there was actually no candle left it was just the sugar that was on fire. Should I start over with a new candle and omit the sugar this time?

Please offer your most sincere insight.

I also have pictures but I don't think I have the proper permissions to post yet.

Thank you!

Hello, VenusInScorp ,
It sure sounds to me like It was the sugar.
I'd try it again without the sugar. You may have used too much. So, just do It without. If you still have similar signs next time around, let us know right away.
Take care

Our prepared 8" glass-encased vigil lights come with a dressing of oils and herbs and will burn for 5 - 7 days, depending on ambient temperature and other factors.

If you wish to set a traditional Novena of nine days, you will either have to start and stop the candle (which can result in a smoky glass), or purchase two candles to run continually over the 9-day period.

Always practice fire safety when setting vigil lights. If you must keep them lit when you are away or asleep, be sure that no pets or children can get into the room with them, that they are not near curtains or flammable cloth or paper, and that you have a smoke alarm in your house. Placing lit vigils in the bathtub is quite common, but you must not have a shower curtain if you use this method. Setting them into a fireplace is ideal, as there is a ready-made chimney for them.
