Hello again!

I've been using the Steady Work spell kit; it got off to a rocky start, I admit(memo to self, open windows when burning incense to prevent fire alarm...) but it's complete now. So, according to the instructions, I should bury the packet of used wax, ash, etc., in my backyard. No problem, right?

Wrong, yes Problem.

See, I currently(that is, until the end of the week) live in a dormitory(hence the fire alarm...) until I graduate and move back home. But I'll only be back home for a couple of weeks, until I move to San Francisco, at which point I won't be back 'home' for (God Willing) several years.

So where is the best place for me to bury the packet? College? Family Home? Wait a month until I can bury it somewhere in SF?

BillEldridge, Whistler is right. The extra beauty of this is that you can take the plant with you to San Francisco :)

Wanted to place my experiences with the steady work lucky mojo candle, i've been looking for a particular job now for the last few months, (metaphysically related), i put out applications etc but nothing bit in the way i wanted, last month my father was driving through a street nearby me with a new shop that was just as i wanted and guess what, he was looking for exactly the position i wanted? I'm not going to lie i didn't even press "that hard" but it came to me very easily

My Aunt is a hard worker yet no one appreciates her at work, so I helped her make a sweetening spell jar to have her boss value her at work

I bought a pre-prepared "Steady Work" jar spell kit and it says the work can be "extended" by burning more yellow altar candles dressed with steady work oil on top of the honey jar.

I also bought a "fixed" glass-encased "Steady Work" candle.

I was wondering instead of burning more dressed yellow candles on top go the jar can I just set the glass-encased Steady work candle beside the jar and burn that and get the same effect?

The technical term for what you are planning to do is to use the Steady Work glass-encased vigil candle as a "helper light" rather than burn it on the honey jar -- and, yes, this is traditional and it is considered effective. You can read more about helper lights and how they are used in my book "The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic."

I've been at the same job teaching at a state university for thirteen years. My department has faced huge budget cuts and during the last round of cuts at the beginning of the summer I found out that mine would be the next head to roll. I ordered a Steady Work spell kit and followed it exactly, hunkered down, and spent the rest of my summer diligently searching for another job. I was really hoping to find something before school started again because I knew we might be facing another funding cut in October, and if that happened, I would certainly lose my job. A co-worker, who had a few more years seniority than I did, was not actively looking just yet and ended up getting a fantastic job offer at another school the Friday before classes started. This wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but it does ease my department's budget, and I will not have to live in fear of losing my job any minute and can take a less urgent approach to finding something else. So there is positive movment and I'm very happy about that!

Thanks, Miss Aida.

I've had even more movement since my last post. Another teacher with more seniority than me has announced she will retire at the end of this year, which makes my position even more secure. When I started this spell I had a complete change of career in mind, but it looks like I get to stay put, at least for the time being. :)

I just wanted to let everyone know of my experience with Steady Work oil. I have an aunt that has been unemployed for quite some time. She recently started working with an agency that understands her situation, and she has been getting short assignments from them. I purchased the oil and when I received it, I anointed a candle and lit it on behalf of my aunt and petitioned St. Martha (not a job saint, I know, but I consider her a guardian spirit) to intercede for her to get steady work. Just the other day, I received an email from an agency I once dealt with. They emailed me about a job. I have a job (knock wood) and let them know my aunt is in the market. My aunt called them and let them know that the job wouldn't be a good fit as the location would make it hard for her to go to school. Just as she turned them down, her regular agency called with a long term assignment that will last until the end of the year.

I just want to know that if you pray with sincerity and put in the work, the mojo does work. I intend to thank Saint Martha with roses, an oil lamp and pound cake.

Hi All --

Oh, man, I got a blow today. I've been putting much effort into a full time teaching search (I've been on the LMHRH Radio Hour a couple times to get help with it, among other things) and the school at which I've applied just informed me that my PT courses were cancelled, and I have EVEN LESS work next term. Man, what is happening??

I have been getting so many positive readings about this aspect of my life recently, so I am still in shock that I'll be in even worse terms next semester. And the kicker -- I was setting up the course, and was just informed now that enrollment was low. That's the thing about PT teaching... you're always suddenly let go and called back. No preparation for this. Backed into a corner again. *sigh*

This hurt, I'm scared, and it's a moment of looking at that Steady Work Honey Jar that has the names of two places that have pulled steady work away inside it wondering what's going on. I won't know the status of the FT search for months.. and really, this is a much more urgent matter.

I've put in a prayer request to CSL. I have a bag of agrimony to make an uncrossing bath -- I mean, it sure feels like I got crossed up...

...and I think it's time to feed the old Steady Work Honey Jar to the ants with a prayer, and make a fresh one with fresh goals. I have a good selection of herbs for work and money attraction I can put in it...heck, I'll even put a lodestone and pyrite in there if the professionals on this forum list recommend it... would anyone suggest that I also throw an uncrossing herb in there too?

Or... should I keep hanging on to the old one? I mean, really... I think maybe it's... stale? (Do honey jars have shelf lives?)

Advice on this would help, from any of you. I know worrying is not helpful to magical work. But I'm just in shock right now. My god, I'm so tired of all this struggling and the floor constantly being pulled out... if there's another working someone would recommend, I'd be super grateful.

Thanks!

magicmurphy, I'm sorry to hear that you've hit a pretty big block. Honey jars don't go stale, but if you are doubting its effectiveness then it might be time to start over and make a fresh one.

Best of luck!

Hi
I wonder if anyone could tell me colour for the candle to burn on top the steady work honey jar?
My steady work honey jar kit came with a yellow candle but the photo on the website catalogue show a blue candle for the steady work honey jar kit.
Many thanks

The traditional colour is blue. Yellow is also used. The blue was taught by Papa Jim of Texas and can also be found in old accounts of the 1930s. The yellow was taught by Mikhail Strabo, among others. Some choose green, for money, also taught by Mikhail Strabo.

So, I've just ordered a Steady Work Honey Jar. I'm planning on putting the name of the hiring manager of the firm I want to work for in it, in an effort to get them to hire me. Is this a valid use of the spell? Follow up: supposing I put the names of more than one person in there, if I have more than one job I'm applying for; will that work, or have an adverse effect?
Many thanks.

Bill

The key is to keep the work focused, Bill.

I have found that placing several bosses in the same firm all together in one jar works well. I would not, however, put in the names of six hiring manager from different firms. In that kind of case, I would simply make the jar "for those in power to bring me success and steady work in the future."

I strongly agree with Deacon Millet, keeping the work focused provides much better results than trying to paint the situation with broad strokes.

Personally I'd put the names of prospective bosses in a general honey jar to keep them sweet and focus the steady work jar on the job with the highest likelihood of being hired. Divination could be used to determine which job has the best potential for hiring you .

A related and updated question: Fellowships and TA positions for grad students. Are they jobs, in so much as a steady work honey jar with the name of the appropriate decision maker(s) can help you get them?

I ask because obviously they do function as jobs for the purpose of income, work experience, etc., but Fellowships especially have a strong academic component and would that mean that another formula, like Crown of Success or King Solomon, might be better suited?

Hello, BillEldridge ,
If this were me, I would use the Crown of Success along with the steady work honey jar.
These positions do function as jobs.
To acquire thee positions, use those.
While in the position, I'd go again with the Crown Of Success a long with the King Solomon.
Wishing you the very best with this.

Hi, Everyone

I received my packaged maybe 3 weeks ago after a long wait. :D However, I have not started the kit just yet. The thing is I don't want husband to know about this, some people don't agree with magic or root work. I have all the things I need to complete the work I have a few minor concerns. Here goes:

1. Does the work haft to be performed at dawn. I can't start before 7.
2.My name is very long how in the world do I get it to fit on the small blue candles.

Everyone please feel free to share your thoughts with me. PinkGiel

Remember dawn is relative, your dawn may be at 7. Have you checked your almanac? As a worker, you must put the necessary energy in to need the results you seek. Good Luck!

Hello, pinkgirl,
I have seen rootworkers just use the first name when inscribing candles.
Just make sure that you full name is on the petition papers.

Hi all,

I recently completed my steady work spell kit today. I began the spell in the wee hours of June 28th, when the new moon was growing closer to a waxing crescent. However, a root-worker mentioned to me that mercury retrograde was in effect during this time. How, if at all, can mercury retrograde affect my steady work spell? Should I plan on doing another steady work/employment spell because of the retrograde?

Mercury retrograde messes up communications of all kinds, including travel -- but it doesn't hit everyone equally hard. Sometimes it passes me by almost unscathed; sometimes it practically brings the house down.

My advice is to watch and wait. If you don't get the results you want, by all means repeat the spell.

Mercury retrograde comes about 3-4 times a year, and if it tends to jump on you with both feet, keep some Mercury spiritual supplies in the house to use with whatever spells you are doing at the time.

Best of luck,

Hi guys, I have been doing some reading on the forum and I have a better understanding on the kit that I purchased. However, there is one thing I'm not sure of; would it be okay if I performed my bath during dawn including taking it to the crossroads like instructed. But when I return home could I wait until my husband leave for work (he leaves @ 7) before I begin the candle burning?

Thanks MissMichaele for your advice. I'm already seeing signs that the Steady Work spell may have been affected by the Mercury Retrograde. I will be casting another employment spell soon.

The retrograde can effect communication but I have found when it is done things start right back up, so possibly plan the new work after it is done and when the moon is waxing to add extra kick to the work!

Hello, pinkgirl,
I always advise folks to do as the instructions say. They are there for a reason: SUCCESS. Miss cat has put her heart and soul into making every spell set for the best ultimate outcomes.
But, if you decide to deviate fro the instructions, it could make your spell weaker.
Take care

I just purchased a steady work honey jar kit and I have a couple questions.

1.) I'm a school teacher so I have a few bosses but there's one dean in particular I don't think likes me. There's also an older teacher there who I'd like for her to mentor me. I'm not sure whose name to cross with mine, or how to word my petition.

2.) The blue candle broke. Can I just melt it back together or should o get another.

3.) Will it still be effective if I can only burn it at home and not in my classroom (safety hazard)

Hello, Thearacol2,

Welcome to the forum!!

I will answer each question after your question. OK? OKAY!

1.) I'm a school teacher so I have a few bosses but there's one dean in particular I don't think likes me. There's also an older teacher there who I'd like for her to mentor me. I'm not sure whose name to cross with mine, or how to word my petition. -Two separate petition papers. One for each person. So they are crossed with you. Encircle with your command

2.) The blue candle broke. Can I just melt it back together or should o get another. -Get another, please

3.) Will it still be effective if I can only burn it at home and not in my classroom (safety hazard)- That's absolutely fine!!

Wishing you the very best

Re: Steady Work Spell Kit and Honey Jar Kit Questions and Answers

Hi all!

My mom has just been laid off from her job of 20 years. However, she doesn't believe in Hoodoo, but I want to help. I have a steady job ritual, however alot of the details are very specific that the person has to do themselves. I wanted to know if it is possible to do this specific ritual FOR someone. If not, is there an alternative?

Thank you!

Hello, jassowens,

You can most definitely perform the spell for her.

Wherever it says: "You' or "Your name", etc. replace it with hers.

Rootworkers do these spells all the time for clients. And they have pretty good results!

So, go for it!

Take care

What would I add to a honey jar for getting a specific job?

I just got my steady work honey jar but I am needing some assistance.

I am looking for an industry specific job, but not a company specific job. So i do not have a company name/bosses name/hiring officers name to use for this spell, only a job title.

What would be the best way to use this spell kit in order to obtain a job and maintain steady work?

Thanks!

Hello moonmaiden,

If you do not have a specific company in mind as your employment goal, but a job title in a specific industry, then you can petition for "the right position for me as a (job title) in the (industry) field".

If the job title refers to the hiring manager, then use that in place of a proper name for the person you wish to influence.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Ok so situation is changed a little bit! I have applied for a specific job, with a company, and i do not have the full name of the hiring manager but I have their intials.

What should I include on the petition to obtain this specific position?
Do i burn 1 candle per day (monday, wednesday and friday)?
If I am adding other herbs, do I fix the candle with them or add them into the honey?
what would you suggest to chant or say?
I have the job posting printed, should I do anything with that?
What about my resume? Should I print that out and so anything?

Anything else I should know is appreciated, I am hoping to start this today as the posting closes tomorrow, and i will know in 1 week if i am getting an interview.

Hi moonmaiden,

You can state your petition according to the job you want "(Position X) will be offered to me" or words to that effect.

You can burn a candle as often as you wish. For additional herbs, you can either use them on your candle or add them to the jar. But why not spend enough time mapping out your spell so you can include everything from the start?

You can put the job posting underneath the jar as you work it.

You have more detailed questions that I think would be best suited to a magical coaching session, which you can book with anyone from AIRR. You can ask all the questions you have in order to feel confident in your work:

Good luck! Go get that job!

Hello!

Thankyou for your previous reply, just a quick question regarding the mojo bag.

I have been smoking it in the incense when I light it iwith the candles and saying the prayer of may I have success in all my endeavors. then carrying it with me unless I'm sleeping where it's under my pillows, like I would a regular mojo bag. Is this okay? I don't want to hurt it.

Also: I wasn't home last night, so I had to light the candles when I got home (after dawn) it was night. will arise tommorrow morning and continue the ritual as it should be done. Is this okay?

Hello CINNAMONBEAUTY17,

No, I wouldn't recommend doing that. Instead, get a brand new jar and put your petition in that, then ritually dispose of the old one. You can read about how to do that here:

Take care.

Hi,

I read through this thread and got a few ideas but I just wanted some suggestions for my specific situation.

Ok, I am currently going through a period where I am quite unsure what my right career path or calling really is. I have some ideas but they just seem a bit unattainable right now. So just the other day I decided that maybe I should craft a spell to see if the universe will help me find the right career. Although I don't know of any specifics, I basically planned to petition it so that this career will satisfy my desires, make me happy, meet my financial needs, etc.

I thought about doing a road opener candle spell so that things can start moving, then I thought about doing a steady work spell of some sort to actually draw the career in. But this is actually where I get a bit undecided in the direction I need to take.......

I don't know whether or not to just do a usual petition & candle spell (NOTE: I don't have the steady work spell kit itself, but I do have the steady work and job mojo oils on handy) or to do a honey jar spell instead. With the former I understand that after the spell candle is burned you would then deploy the remains of the spell out into the universe. Deploying it, as I understand it, signifies that you have completed the spell and you are now waiting for the universe to manifest your desires.

With the latter, however, I understand that the work would be ongoing. I think I also read somewhere above in this very thread that with honey jars you would really need specific names or entities to work with so that they can sweeten up to you. But see, I don't have any specifics in mind being as the right career for me is totally unknown, so there is nothing or no one to influence.

I like the idea of just putting my petition for the unknown right career into the honey jar and continue to work it and let the universe sweeten it into my direction but I don't know if it realistically even works that way.

So with all being said, does anyone have any suggestions?
