Sorry, what we've got is what we've got. It's a free phpBB database. We have not been able to find any sensitivity setting on it, ever.

If someone with real, certified technical skills wants to upgrade us to a newer version and can do so without killing all the old posts and old data, i'm willing to listen and willing to make the change.

Also, just go outside and use google. It works really well. Include the words Lucky Mojo in your search words and it'll reference right back to the forum. That's how I do all my searches now. good luck

Please do not double post! It is not allowed on the forum. If a message you sent appears in your Outbox it means that the message HAS been sent, but the recipient HAS NOT opened and read it yet. It will be listed as SENT when it is opened and read, so you know when, and if, the person has received it.

I KNOW there is a way to program this into our software, but i am not a developer and although i have asked many times for tech help, i have so far been unable to find a developer who can handle this and the other tech problems we know exist in the software.
Oh...darn. What a good idea. I hadn't thought of that either.

I just ran into that problem myself. I was searching the honey jar thread -- which is now a whopping 101+ pages long. Eek!

Hi, I couldn't find anywhere else to ask this, but I am having problems sending PM's. It says they were sent, but they never leave my outbox and I am not getting replies, and I know they would have replied. If there is anyone that can help me with this I would really appreciate it. Thank you!!

If a pm is in your outbox it means the person you sent it to has not opened it yet. It was sent, just not read.

Hi all!
I'm finding that more and more I don't use my laptop all that much for my daily internet browsing habits, and as a result I don't make it to the forum nearly as often as I used to or would like - it's tough to read in Safari on the little phone screen.

I started looking around at apps for following forums, and I've found a few that work with vBulletin message boards but it appears the forum owners have to install a plugin on their end to make a forum available on the app. Tappatalk seems most popular and to have the most features, but it is a 2.99 app for users and I don't know what the cost of the plugin for the forum owners is.

So I'm curious to know if I'm the only one who would be head over heels to be able to easily access the forums via an app for my iPhone, and also if cat and krewe would be willing to install such a plugin, for those of us who have migrated to using our mobile devices more often than our computers. If there IS a cost for the plugin, perhaps those of us who would use it could send some paypal love to the cause- I know I would...and I'd be happy to offer any technical assistance with it, I do have vBulletin experience.

Thoughts?
Thank you Saint Martha for hearing my petition and for your ongoing good works for myself and others.

Due to my low vision, i will never be able to use a mobile device for internet connectivity. I have a 26 inch wide screen and wish it were bigger.

But of course i am interested in making the forum accessible to all -- no question about that.

As it so happens, we are using an older verion of phpBB forum software and we are currently looking for someone to hire to do some maintenance and upgrades on the forum now anyway. I will keep what you said in mind.

If cost becomes a stumbling block, i'll just ask everyone to buy more oils!

My particular vision problems make it almost impossible to use a proper computer. Just keeping up with the chat on the Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour taxes what little eyesight I have left. I spent my first year being blind using my smartphone for all my internet needs. Recently, I was gifted an iPad, which made things easier, but hardly simple. I have, and will continue to, manage here on the forum, despite my limitations. I would certainly be thrilled at anything that improved its mobile device accessibility.

I'm an administrator on a couple PHPBB forums and I know that some of my members log in just fine from their tablets. I'd see what web browser you're running--some can work fine with the tablets' software, others don't, and from what I understand it's a matter of trial and error.

Unfortunately I don't know SQL or the main PHP language--another of my admins handles all that for me. I'm basically the Keeper of the Holy Hammer of Ban and the boards' bouncer, so that's pretty much all I know on the subject.

Sorry I can't be of further help. I'd poke around on Google and see what turns up.

Thanks cat! I'll look around and see what I can find for phpBB- which I've worked with but not in about a decade. The advantages of an app would be that it keeps one logged in, would put all the new messages 'up top', make the (absolutely fine, just not great for mobile) design more useable on a mobile device, make accessing the board simpler for mobile users. With my phone browser, I have to open the browser, wait for it to load, enlarge the screen to be able to hit the login space, type my login each time, wait for the new page to load, enlarge IT so I can clck on titles and page numbers. With an app it would just be - open the app, read the forums, respond, close when done. I honestly think it might increase readership.

As for smartphone use, there are a surprising amount of uses for those with extremely low vision. An ex boyfriend of mine with vision similar to but worse than yours (I've read your descriptions)- essentially totally bline except for shadow and light, uses a 'sonar' type app on his smart phone to navigate new or busy places by himself, got from a residential area in south Austin to downtown via the bus on his own. And is able to use voice activated commands to use most apps.
Thank you Saint Martha for hearing my petition and for your ongoing good works for myself and others.

I have a company that I can refer you to. I just did business with them. I asked them for help on my site. They are not a fly by night, and they have experience. I will give you their name the next time we speak. The owner lived in California, but now in Florida. It is worth checking out.
They can do an app as well.

I have constantly been getting a malware error message every time I am in one particular thread. The thread in question is:

candles-trim,-carve,-load,-petition,-pr ... 8s360.html

...and the warning message that comes up, no matter if I am in Google Chrome or Firefox browser, and even after I run a Full Norton System Scan, and clear all cache and history, is as follows:
Warning: Something's Not Right Here!

I would not even think to bring this up, but it keep happening in random threads and it has repeated happened in the above linked thread, especially after I go past page 13-16 and beyond.

I don't get the warnings - I'm using IE at the moment with McAfee virus protection. Not saying that's better or worse, just offering the information in case it can help you guys figure this out.

It's actually not any kind of problem with the browser. I browse on my phone, not a tablet, and dealing with re-sizing each page every time I click and scrolling sideways to read everything...the keyboard in it is just cumbersome and I'm lazy is all. Native built apps often have their own keyboard and navigation built to be easier from the phone, bigger buttons, direct navigation, a mobile design to make viewing on a smaller screen easier.

ACTUALLY...a responsive mobile design for mobile users of the board would do most of those things without an app. I have worked with phpBB, though admittedly not in about 8 years, and I do know php and mySQL, deal with apps, and have message board experience from both front/design end and tech end viewpoints, too. So if you need another hand, you know I'm here.

Hysteria, we don't use chat here because we are often dealing with the learning and teaching of magical spells, conjure tricks, rootwork rituals, and the like -- and we want a more permanent and accessible record of what has been said that we can find using chat software.

That said, there is a chat room associated with the Lucky Mojo Hoodoo Rootwork Hour Radio Show, and you can join it every week while the radio show is on.

I have noticed something broken in the navigation of the forums.

When attempting to go to the most recent page of a large thread, and clicking the "Newest Post" or newest page number links. Instead of going to that newest page, you are taken to page 1, the oldest page. Once here you then try to click on the latest page, but instead only skip about 4 or 5 pages at a time. This makes for hard navigating when doing this in a thread with more than 100 pages.

Getting this fixed would be a huge thing for me personally, since I do a lot of time responding to and going to posts in these large threads.

Hi, I do not seem to know how to send a private message on this site. My messages when I hit "send", go to the "outbox". I'm baffled. I would like to receive a reading and do not know who to call or contact. I am a licensed and certified clergy, practicing witch (HP), professional intuitive, spiritual and personal advisor; however, I would prefer a reading from an outside source on this one. Please advise and I thank you in advance. Blessed be, JG

If your messages were sent to the outbox, that means that they were sent. If you want a reading, you should pay first. If a reader cannot or will not do your reading, you will get a refund.

I am sending you a PM.

Just a side note: If it's in your "Outbox," it has been delivered but not seen yet. When the recipient sees your PM, it gets reclassified from the "Outbox" to the "Sent" folder.

Hi everyone,

I sent a private message earlier but it is in the outbox instead of sent messages.
Has the message actually been sent or not ?

How do I fix this if it hasn't been sent ?

Thank you,
Sarah

I too experience the same technical problems as everyone has voiced on this thread. Plus, clicking on "Jump to Post" or "x of x post" doesn't do anything for me. They still take me back to page 1. If searching for the desired post via Google, it either returns no results, or it does but clicking on the result still brings me back to page 1.

It looks like this thread was last active over a year ago. Has anyone since discovered any clever workarounds to this glitch? I'd love to hear it.

My inbox was getting close to full so I decided to delete some messages. This must be the first time I've attempted this since the upgrade (very likely since I don't send/receive many) because I could not for the life of me figure out where the delete button went to. On the list of messages, I checked some but the only thing I could do was mark/unmark as important. In the message itself, my only option was to move to inbox, where it already was.

Am I missing something obvious? I never had this problem before, here or at any other forum.

I believe you go here: association-of-independent-readers-and- ... s-f29.html

If there is already a topic thread about the AIRR reader you want to discuss, add your post there. If there is no thread, just start a new one and describe your experiences with that reader.

Moonlightdream,

Your private message is really like an email to a person so you sent it which means it is leaving you ( hence the outbox) and will show up in their in box. Once received by the other person (once they have read it) it will not show up in your outbox anymore.

For some reason, I'm unable to delete anything from my Sent Messages folder, which is full. I've marked the messages I want to delete (clicked checkboxes), selected "Delete Marked" from the dropdown menu in the lower right-hand corner, clicked "Yes" in answer to "Are you sure you want to delete all marked messages?" ... and they're still there. I've done this three times.

Help...

Hi,

The 2 private messages I sent to forum support about my problem are not moving from my outbox. The issue I am having is:

Can someone turn on BBCode for my signature? When I create a post it says BBCode on, but the html codes appear in the actual post, not the colored text.

Thanks,
brujaha123

Hi Forum Admin/Support,

Can somebody please hook me up with some BBCode color, so that I can honor saints in my signature with text in the appropriate color? I emailed last week to no avail. After what she's done for me, the least I can do is try to honor Saint Martha the Dominator in her color. Can you help a sister out?

Blessings,

Hi Cat,

I didn't think it should be a problem, since the text for forum moderator names is in red and green.

Hello, brujaha123,

That's to identify who is answering clients.

But, in all honesty, colors are very difficult to read and hard on the eyes..

Whenever I run into them, I turn them back to black.

hi lm fam. i read somewhere on the thread that the msg going to outbox is typical but if it stays there that is a problem. well, ive sent an adequate number of pm's & none went to outbox except for this one email to a particular person. it has stayed in outbox for over a day now. i resent the email & again it goes to outbox. honestly, i cant understand why it sends to everyone else but goes to outbox when i send to this one person.

Hello, cappygirl11 ,

I believe that after your first three posts are approved, then you will also receive private messages.

If this doesn't work, let us know

Take care

Do you mean after first three posts are approved, we can send private messages?

Hello, Forum Family Members,

cat and Nagasiva are aware of the fact that when you interface with Board Index, it takes you to the catalog page.

They are working on correcting this problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience
