Hello, misskitty49,
Please please do NOT use Sachet powders, oils, etc in this manner.
They are NOT (repeat: NOT) made for edible consumption.
Thanks

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
Stuttering, there should be nothing repulsive about a honey jar. Possibly you added some nasty-smelling herbs by mistake? Or you added traditional love herbs whose smell you find unpleasant? (There's something in Reconciliation products that makes them smell heavily bitter to me; but that's just me). In either case, I would remake the jar. A spell to make good things happen should not be nasty to work with.
Another possibility: did you dilute the honey or sweetener with water? Some people have tried to use sugar water in a sweet jar. That's the surest way to "fermentation and souring".
Remaking the jar will not undo its effects.
Good luck,
Miss Michaele

I made my honey jar with maple syrup diluted in water. Miss Michaele just mentioned that this may have been a mistake. Should I remake it?

Hi!
I have been melting the bottom of my taper candles a little bit then placing it on top of my honey jar. Just so that it actually sticks on top. However, I recently heard that you're supposed to use "virgin" candles.... So.... By melting the base of my candle to fix it on top of my jar, does that mean my candle isn't a "virgin" anymore?? Lol such a weird question haha

Do I have to leave all the residue wax on the sides of my jar?? Or can I opt to clean it off? I read that some people will heat up their honey jars once in a while.... Which means all the wax will be melted off anyways. So.... Is this okay?? Or would this ruin or setback the spell?

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
xoPudding, many people leave the melted wax on their honey jars until New Year's. Then, some clean it off. Others leave it until it becomes impossible to put another candle on the lid.
Sometimes a candle will burn up all the wax left by previous candles, leaving nothing but a clean lid and little fragments of wick. I like to see that -- it sort of "clears the decks," as it were.
Heating the honey jar by surrounding it with tea lights, as Conjureman Ali sometimes recommends, would certainly melt at least some of the wax on the side of the jar. That could make a mess or even be a fire hazard. Put a heat-resistant plate under the honey jar if you surround it with tea lights.
Good luck,
Miss Michaele

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
xoPudding, another thing about "virgin" candles. I've never heard that term used on this forum or in relation to hoodoo.
But I have been taught that a candle that has been used for another spell and not completely burned should not be used for a different spell. (Sometimes people change their minds about burning a vigil light and blow it out, or ask for it to be snuffed if it's on a rootworker's altar.)
"Virgin candles" sounds like the same kind of "magical gentrification" that insists on expensive parchment-style stationery for petition papers instead of squares of grocery bag, or gourmet/ultra-natural Himalayan salt instead of plain white kosher salt.
Remember, hoodoo has its roots in the African-American experience. It goes back far, far beyond occult shops that could supply you with obscure herbs, figural candles or oils with magical names. Up until a very few generations ago, powerful magic was done with tools and ingredients that could be found in the drugstore, the grocery store, and the kitchen.

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
Okay, freaking out a little right now and I'm hoping this is a common thing.
I'm working a honey jar on a few people right now and the lid of one blew right off. As in, it exploded off the jar and onto the floor-not while I was present. I heard a commotion downstairs and that's when I found it. Is this common? Should I be concerned? I've never had this happen before but I am using a different brand of honey so idk if that makes any difference.

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
Been doing a honey jar for my soon to be( if he has he way) ex. I read that pin or needle on a marked free-standing candle clings and won't fall means that the person is clinging to past condition. The first two pins fell free the third is laying upside down stuck to the candle. But if it falls when I burn the candle tonight does it means he is letting go of the other woman or it tells me that there is no hope.
Would it be wise to cleanse our bedroom with van van and or do do a Chinese Wash all over the house?

cookie2, the only cause I can think of is fermentation -- which happens when a natural sweetener is diluted with water. Did you happen to do that, by any chance?

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
This question is addressed on page 53 of The Art of Hoodoo Candle Magic. To summarize:The first two pins fell free the third is laying upside down stuck to the candle. But if it falls when I burn the candle tonight does it means he is letting go of the other woman or it tells me that there is no hope.
- Do a quick divination to see who is clinging to whom: you to him? Him to Miss Thing, or vice versa? It's time to get out your cards, pendulum, or whatever tool you find most reliable.
- The book recommends a Black Walnut bath if it's you who needs to cut past ties -- but since you're doing reconciliation work, I'd say Van Van or lemongrass instead.
- If it's the bond between Miss Thing and your man, try Cast Off Evil (or Break Up, in your case).
It certainly couldn't hurt.Would it be wise to cleanse our bedroom with van van and or do do a Chinese Wash all over the house?
Good luck,

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
As far as I know, no liquid found it's way into my jar with the exception of the oils I used to dress the petition paper. That being said, it's rained for days where I live and there was considerable moisture in the air.

Well, cookie2, .... that makes the lid popping off seem more and more un-ordinary. It does sound like resistance, and looks like it means "LET ME OUT OF HERE."
But this isn't a forum for free readings, so you should probably do some divination yourself, or schedule a reading with someone gifted and trustworthy.
Good luck,
Miss Michaele

I scheduled an AIRR reading as soon as I saw your reply. I wanted to be sure it wasn't a simple explanation (like fermentation or my candles getting too hot). Thanks for your help!

I made a new honey jar with pure honey and it seems to be already working. He's been very sweet and much more open and even showing some little signs of jealousy which he never does. I feel silly but glad I finally realized what I was doing wrong.

I am aware that honey jars may be opened to add new petitions. But is it also ok to transfer the honey and petitions to a different container? I would like to switch one of my honey jars to a prettier container instead of remaking everything.

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
I made a honey jar earlier. I used red coloured sugar. I stuffed the petition paper with my hair and his tied together like a cross. I annoyed the petition paper with love oils. Bewitching, Love Me, and Follow Me Boy. I stuffed it with Red Clover, Rose Buds, and Damania. I wrote love me on the petition paper with red ink. He's been getting distant in texting me. My question is will this just sweeten him or will he think of me?

mmachix, that sounds like a well-made honey jar. I can't think of anything more to add except possibly a matched pair of lodestones, named for you and him, fed with a pinch of magnetic sand and wrapped in a petition paper that says "THINK OF ME WANT ME CALL ME."

Hi! I was wondering something. I decided to make my own honey jar. I've previously bought a honey jar from a spellcaster before that contains my only personal concerns that I had left from my lost love. I was wondering if I made my new jar, can I also combine and add the contents from my old one?

Thanks for that.
If I wanted to start a new honey jar can I open my old one and take everything out put into the new?
Pour all the herbs the petition the picture and the handwriting and put into the new one as I feed more things into it?
Or get rid of the old one completely?
Do I burn the candle directly on top of metal lid or put a small tea dish and burn the candles in that?
Thanks I'm learning. A lot.

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
Letsdoit2015,
There are magical reasons to use one sugar and/or honey jar for all of your petitions, and reasons to make a personally-targeted one for each situation. I don't know you or the true nature of your work, so i can only tell you that both are traditional. If you have read the "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice" web page i wrote on honey and sugar jars, you may recall that i mentioned that Zora Neale Hurston wrote of a professional root doctor in New Orleans who had a jar for his clients that contained sugar mixed with honey and it contained hundreds of names.
To dispose of a sweet jar that was dedicated to one purpose, and to undo the spell work, you may take it to a river, open it, and wash out everything by hand, then bring the jar home.
If you are in the habit of always keeping a sugar jar on hand, with a slip of name-paper or a folded herb-packet for each person, then remove the unwanted one and add others as you wish.

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
Hello everyone. I am new to this but know that if anyone can help me its yall.
I have 3 different sweetning jars going at this time. And after research I find out that during the first week I am suppose to burn a candle every day on them to heat it up or get them to work a little faster. Well Friday i dressed my 3 candles. Of course i used the appropriate color and oil herbs for each one respectivly. I prayed on each one as I dressed them. I did however pray a little harder on a specific one due to the fact that its the one that seems more important to me.
After I lighted my candles and thanked my Holy Death for listening to me and for all her help. I stayed up reading and doing research. (I am new to this so I just cant get enough information.) Well everything was fine but then a little bit after 3am one of my jars started to make noise like sizzling or boiling sound. And the candle flame bursted into what seemed like a fire it did this for several minutes until the candle burned out.
I researched it and it said this meant that my spell was powerfull and had almost no resistence. Does anybody else have any other idea as to why this happened

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
Hello!
I'm going to do a honey jar tomorrow in an attempt to help sweeten an ex lover.
I've read through quite a few pages in this thread (not all 93), and understand you should add personal concerns of the person the jar is aimed towards (if applicable).
The only problem is, I don't have any of his. I don't have any hairs/nail clippings etc of his.
I have a jar, with honey, paper (I've read brown or parchment paper is the best??), pink rose petals, and red candles. Can I expect much chance of success without his personal concerns?

Hi! I just did my very 1st honey spell yesterday and just realized that I misspelled the Middle name on the petition! Should I re-do the entire jar, and if so can i use the hair that was inside the original jar? Cause I obtained via his razor and I dont have access to his hair right now... Or can I just make a new petition paper and fold it over the misspelled one? Please help!

Ev96, a picture counts as personal concern. Why not get the Love herbs mix from LM for the packet? Just rose petals alone is not that strong. You also need love oils for the candles. And if your ex feels resentments against you, you'd need pink candles and the Reconciliation oil too.

Hello Ev96
Innocense is correct you can use a picture of him for personal concerns of his. Add Lucky Mojo's Love herb mixture to the packet with his picture.

Hi susieqtorres,
Personally, I would re-start the jar to be sure moving forward. You could re-use any personal concerns you have in the original jar.
Good luck.

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
I did my red sugar jar. I am using a red glass vigil candle to burn on top of it. I annoyed it with Bewitchinf, Follow Me Boy, and Love Me oil. It seems to be burning clean. I noticed my man is so nice to me via Facebook and talking sweet of me. Is it possible that jar could of worked his quick
because I read that the jar takes awhile

Hello, mmachix ,
That's wonderful!
There are exceptions to everything when it comes to Spirit. Sometimes they do indeed work right away.
Congrats!

Thank you. Spell seems to be going well. I used a glass red vigil candle to keep it going

The candle was burning so nice last night. I left to go see a friend and got back home today. The flame turned low and he's distant somewhat. Didn't text but talked sporadically on Facebook and not as much as I would like. What should I do? Should I do a Block Buster?

So I've been working a honey jar (going to redo it anyways) but the honey completely crystallized. Is that a sign?
Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
I feel very, very strongly that I should bury the jar.
My plan is to bury it in my front yard and let it work as it will. I do not want to stop the spell to sweeten and draw him toward me. I just need to get out of its way.
I have not been able to do that while it is in my sight.
I stopped working the jar for a while then I started again. I’ve seen some movement but things are nowhere near where they should be. It’s been waaay more than 3 months. In the past, I have said I would stop but I keep relapsing. I have been obsessing. I know this will not allow things to work if they're gonna.
Again, I don’t want to end the spell. I want it to work as it will. I have never had a feeling as strong as this this toward it. There has only been an obsessive quality to how I've felt about it.
That makes me unhappy. I don't see being unhappy drawing him or allowing me to leave it to the powers that be.
I recently put together a picture box. I am content to put it away. I think I can just put it in a closet. Is this so?
There is a New Year around the corner. I would like to do a light spiritual cleanse (hyssop bath) and focus on money, job and health matters moving forward while it works it out on its own.
Am I approaching this correctly? What do I do with the pictures I have of him? Should I write petitions on them then burn them?
I thank you for your help.

Re: How to Use Honey, Sugar, and Sweet Jars Questions and Answers
I still can't get my boyfriend to text me. He's quick to reply to my posts on Facebook and comments. He's being really sweet on them though. The candle is now back to regular flame and burning clean all the way down. There is white smoke on the rim of the glass. I know in hoodoo tradition they say smoke is bad, but I've done spells before with white smoke on the rim and it's been an positive outcome. I'm thinking doing a block buster. Any other ideas? I wish he would text me throughout the day. I seen him sending long texts to the woman that put me in jail and another mentally challenged girl. He doesn't do this with me and I just spent the last almost 6 months with him and helped him out a lot. It hurts me big time

Hi mmachix,
You can continue to work your jar and trust in the outcome. If you want additional advice on what is happening and why he is behaving the way he is, you should book a reading with someone from AIRR. They can provide more clarity on the situation and advise on any other work you may be doing to help.

Good luck.

Hi nocturnalworker,
Honey will crystallize over time. It's not necessarily a spiritual sign. If you wish, you can set the jar in a pan of warm water to soften up the honey again. Since you are remaking the jar, personally I would keep the old one under your bed while you work with the new one.
Good luck.

Hi ginjer29,
You can bury your jar in your front yard to continue to draw your target to you.
I'm sorry but I am less clear with your objectives of your picture box. When you say you are "content to put it away", do you mean stop the work?
As for spiritual cleansing, hyssop is used to remove sin when working negative magic like cursing or breaking up couples. If you want to remove spiritual gunk in general, a 13 Herb bath would be more appropriate, as well as cleansing your house with Chinese Wash.
