What about payment to Saint Martin prior to work being done after, during? any advice? I am considering a donation to an organization that helps the poor...maybe? Any advice will be helpful.

I asked this same question. Personally, I donate to various organizations that provide immediate support to the homeless and the poor as a thank you to San Martin Caballero.

Customarily I make donations after the candle is complete whether my petitions are answered or not; to show appreciation.

Thank you so much Saint Martin Caballero every time I ask for help with money matters you come through, you are a truely wonderful Saint, I urge anyone in need to ask for his help, a simple pray and light a candle then I will leave something as a thank you, on that subject does anyone know his preferences.

I too have found great success in working with Saint Martin Caballero as a spirit who will bring customers into my shop. I keep his statue on display and people actually place dollar bills all around it.

ive never prayed to a saint so i googled *saint of luck* and San Martin Cabellero came up
so i prayed to him and asked if he could spread some of his luck on me.
and then i went outside and seen a floating seed from a dandelion idk if
its luck that i seen that i remember i use to blow on the dandelion as a kid
for good luck.

idk its just a wierd occurance that it happened

O Blessed Saint Martin Caballero, who in mercy and love clothed a poor freezing beggar by dividing your own cloak in two, Look upon me, so poor and alone with the eyes of your mercy and intercede for me before the throne of Christ that I may find help for all my needs, both spiritual and material (mention your request here). Amen

Thanks! Now my next question is, why is there so little information about him out there? I hear alout about so many other Saints, but why not him? Especially since he is petitioned for luck,money, and prosperity. I don't get it.

He is also known as St. Martin de Tours or Martin of Tours. There is plenty of information about him under that name.

It is tradition in my family to also feed San Martin Caballeros horse. This goes back all the way to my great great great nana. My nana used to plant wheat or grass in an old can and offer it to his horse. If it grew he was happy and accepted your request.

Yes, this is a great way to work with San Martin Caballero -- he is very often found on an altar or at least as a picture on the wall in restaurants, night clubs, and other places of business. He is considered a "money saint" by those who are poor but want to attract folks who drive by and might stop -- just as he stopped for the roadside beggar, so may customers stop for your busienss!

I believe that red is his color (but the webpage will tell you). However, white is also good for any Saint when you don't have their preferred color on hand.

Hey again guys. I read somewhere that Saint Martins day is Tuesdays. Is this accurate or. should I start on Wednesday to ensure fast luck or wait till Thursday for both Fast luck and fast money?

Hello, TheBestest ,
I usually do the work on the day that I start any Saint's VIGIL candle.
Since it's a vigil candle, you can then continue on and ask for what you need on those days (that correlate with what is good to petition on those days).
Many people just make their petition on the day of the Saint and disregard days of the week.
So, it's up to you

I'm new to the site and stumbled upon this post - I know the reply is late but maybe it will help someone in the future. My grandfather had an altár and San Martín caballero was one of his favorote saints. He would offer a small bowl of fresh water and grass for his horse every Tuesday.

I recently petitioned this saint to help me with obtaining more work and for help finding a good vehicle. I have already been called back on vehicles that I was looking at after a couple days as well as a few more money making offers. This is after a month of trying to do this on my own with no response. Quite amazing.

Another thought that I had maybe part of my offering besides the water, is that I always give two cigarettes to whoever stops and asks me for one (usually homeless persons, I know 5 who who regularly ask me and I feel if it helps them stay calm I don't mind). Maybe it was counted. I will pray over them now with thanks when I do give them out and let you all know.

I have a doubt and I don't know if this is the proper thread. If not, please, move it to the proper section.

Well, I know Saint Martin de Tours' story and I was wondering if he could be a saint to ask for protection of our vehicles, in my case, my car.

I know holy patron of drivers is Saint Christopher, but I would like to know if is there any difference between the one who protects drivers and the one who protects the "rinding horse", the structure, (the car), as being known the story which Saint Martin was riding his horse and stopped it to help a beggar who was Jesus "in disguise". In Spanish his is known as San Martin Caballero (caballo: horse) due to this, his international name is Saint Martin de Tours, a well venerated saint in France.

What do you think? Could Saint Martin fits as a protector of cars? or, Is there a specific holy patron of cars? (Saint Christopher, maybe?).

I am gonna make some divination to find out if it would be proper to ask for help to San Martin related to vehicles.

As far as I am concerned, the only saint who comes to my mind in relation to driving issues is Saint Christopher, but he is helpful for drivers, I don't know if Martin would be the one who protects the cars as a structure (horse) to "ride".

San Martin is so so excellent. He has gone beyond my wildest expectations.

I kept his card in a corner of my shop. before I open to customers, I light him a candle quickly and offer him a glass of water and grasses for his horse. then I pray, asking for his help.

San Martin broke my sales record in our first day of work together. He has constantly broken every previous sales record.

I did a petition to St. Martin. I feel there were times when he granted me money, but I turned it down. Like last Friday I could of made extra money, but chose to hang out with friends. The red candles I burned for him were red glass candles. They burned out real quick. I was doing it for 9 days straight. I stopped lighting the candle on Monday when the last one was done. I slacked off on praying. I was praying 9 times a day. I am going to make a small donation to a charity today. My question is have I angered this saint that the next time I call on him he will ignore me. What should I do?

You may have, the best thing to do is pray and ask for forgiveness and now you learned how to listen to the spiritual forces as they answer your prayers. Make an offering to him flowers, water, candle after you donate in his honor.

The other day I was planning to pray to him to ask for new clients into my business and that exact day, I even haven't petitioned him in a proper way (just "It would be fine to ask Saint Martin for help, I will do soon") and I received an email of a new client.
Saint Martin works wonders and always, always helps me when I ask him for help.

Today I was thinking about San Martin Caballero and whether I should apply for it. At the same time, I found a white feather on the floor! I took it as a sign and I just printed his image. I'm going to start worshiping him on my altar!
