Blackberry Leaf Questions and Answers

Unread post by CherryRedBoom » Fri Jan 08, 2010 5:48 pm

I'm interested in doing the blackberry leaves reversing spell and have a question about the disposal part.

I live in a small town with one graveyard that is watched closely so disposing remains there isn't an option. I've tried once before and they're not too keen on that kind of stuff.

Are there any acceptable alternative disposing plans? The only other grave that's close by is the one of my mom's dead dog (who didn't like the target so that might be ok) but its in our backyard.

Actually the spell doesn't specifically say burial in a graveyard but in a deep hole...but I see the implication. But consider the optional disposals

You definitely don't want the spell remains on your property.

For such work I always recommend graveyard. YOu can make the box pretty small and literally toss it into a fresh grave, or bury right at the entrance.

Crossroads are also an option when it comes to disposing "dark" work remains and containers.

so it doesn' t have to be a grave then? I might be able to swing burying near the entrance or something. Failing that I'll give the crossroads a try. Thank you both for the suggestions.

If you read the link I sent above, did you read where cat suggest bringing a biodegradable cup with flowers and place them in the graveyard? This is especially effective in a small graveyard where eyes are noticing.

In pretty much every small town in America there are two kinds of graveyards -- the well-guarded, well-maintained commercial graveyard (not a good option for our type of work) and the old, near-abandoned, rather neglected family grave plot. Do some asking and looking around. I'd be very surprised if you didn't find a nearby graveyard that would suit your needs. It would be worth your time and effort to know the whereabouts of a graveyard you can use now and in the future. Ask some old folks, they'll know.

Good luck,

I have also found that if you ask the caretaker if there are any long untended graves you may volunteer some attention to, they will be happy to point them out and leave you be. If they question just explain that you are unable to visit your family's graves and feel drawn to honor them by tending to those without visitors. I actually started doing this before my hoodoo interests began, in lieu of visiting my sisters' graves, which are too far away - they all died as children so to honor them I tend untended little girls' graves when I am particularly missing them.

Then just visit the way cat suggested - get a paper cup, put your flowers in it, enter the graveyard, dig your small hole, dispose of your spell remains, cover them, then place the cup with the flowers in the hole on top. If your item is small enough you could just stoop to tie your shoe, shove it under the ground while down there, then stand up and go on your way.

If you live in a larger community with historical cemeteries, there may be a volunteer group that helps care for the cemetery - there is one where I live. Joining it would give you reasonably easy access- ours has workdays when twenty or so people spend all day doing all kinds of things from record-taking for old stones, to weeding, to planting new arrangements...and it's an additional way to thank the dead for the work (I wouldn't neglect to still pay, however).

The thing to remember, whether graveyard or crossroads, people will only pay attention to you if you look out of place or like you are nervous they might catch you at something. Stride calmly and with purpose, don't be filling your own head with thoughts that you are doing something you don't want to be caught at. Don't look around and over your shoulder a million times, drawing attention to what you are doing there. Hide in plain sight...it's pretty easy.
Thank you Saint Martha for hearing my petition and for your ongoing good works for myself and others.

Just to clarify one more time -- this spell was taught to me by a man in Texas and he did not mention a graveyard or a grave -- he said, "a deep hole."

I think it is most respectful to my elders who taught me, and to the younger generation whom i am teaching, to pass along the spells i was taught accurately and without my own frills.

Sure, you could do this Blackberry Leaf spell at a cemetery, but the man who taught me the spell instructions in his traditional way of working said, "A DEEP HOLE" -- and that was all he said.

Blackberry Leaf Questions and Answers

Unread post by libbinbelle » Mon Nov 07, 2011 6:24 pm

I have a few questions about the uses of blackberry oil.

1. Can it be used for protection with fiery wall of protection on purple candle or a purple and white candle?

2. Can it be used with dragonsblood on a purple or purple and white candle for uncrossing?

I know that Dragonsblood on a purple and white candle can uncross but not reverse, my thought is to add the blackberry oil to reverse any evil as I uncross as well.

However, I also seem to remember blackberry can be used with a white marriage candle to break up a couple.

I've seen the reversal with blackberry leaves on this site:

" BLACKBERRY LEAF
Use in Magic: Used to remove evil spirits from a home and to return evil to a person doing you harm."

and I thought I saw blackberry oil for protection.
I was starting to use the blackberry with dragons blood on a purple candle with a white bottom, but I wanted to make sure it would help and not hinder.
Thanks for any help,
Respectfully,
LibbinBelle

Lucky Mojo's complete inventory page does not show any Blackberry Oil, but they do sell blackberry leaf.
This forum is dedicated to the use of Lucky Mojo products, so we can't advise you about the use of some other company's Blackberry Oil. You'd have to ask the company you bought it from.

If you wish, you can make your own Blackberry Oil by steeping the leaves in oil for several weeks -- but I don't see why you want to. It's the prickliness of blackberry leaves that makes them valuable for reversing work -- and oil is NOT prickly. Here is a very traditional example:
Purple candles are traditionally used for mastery and command -- to control other people's will -- which is not the same thing as reversing evil work back to the sender, or sending evil spirits away.

Hope this helps,

catness,

The search for "replacements" for old-fashioned herbs and minerals is pretty silly when the products themselves cost just a few dollars per packet. Here are Blackberry Leaves:

In addition, if saving time by making orders for herbs is your goal, then you owe it to yourself to purchase my book "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic" -- because for the price of only 5 packets of our herbs, it provides you wil long lists of herbs that have similar ascriptions and uses in magic:
