Hoping this is the right forum for this....

I woke up in the middle of the night (about 2:00 in the morning) with a strange feeling that someone was trying to intrude my home. Even though I felt this way, I did not get up out of the bed, but I instead just lay there. I felt rather paranoid; even though I knew no one was coming into the house, I felt as though someone was. Our neighbor's cat frequents the deck that is adjacent to our house and I heard her walking back and forth, or what I assume was the cat.

Anyhow, I continued to lay there, and I felt extremely uneasy. The light outside was bothering me, and it usually does not. I was hot to the extreme where I was sweating, but it was not hot in the house or the bedroom, even with the space heater next to my bed. I was very thirsty, so I felt the need to get out of the bed and get some water. I also felt the urge to go check on two candles I have burning...one is St. Jude and the other is St. Martha, both are for some domestic issues I am working on (husband and in-laws). I took a drink of water, checked the candles, which are on my alter on the table within eyesight, and I go back to bed.

Now, I don't know whether to write this off as hormonal, or someone working on me and i just don't know it. Any opinions on this? I am going to put the bible under my bed to be on the safe side tonight, but this made me feel very uneasy for some reason, and I felt as though I was in between stages of sleep and not having control of myself, even though I was wide awake.

I don't know if this would be a result of hag-riding. Hag-riding victims usually exhibit symptoms of being drained, feeling powerless, feeling ravaged, abused, and usually report an actual presence in the room, on their bed, on top of them. That isn't to say you can't be hag-ridden without knowing it, but those are the usual signs of hag-riding. To be safe, I'd place protective measures in place. Sprinkle the four corners of your room with salt and ask it to protect your house, place the bible open to a protective pslams under your bed. You might also sprinkle black mustard seeds on your deck or lawn. If you continue to have unusual occurrances then get a reading done and perform a more thorough line of defense.

I agree with ConjureMan...from your post it seems you probably were drained as a result...please follow the protective measures...I have used Psalm 91 with great effectiveness...search the forum for additional findings.

It is funny that mommystwin27 should mention that. I walk my home with authority. I have the same candle burning. I've been feeling increasingly uneasy and today is the most uneasy I have been in my home. I didn't want to mention it so as to not give fear a voice. I have had shivers for several days, even when it is not cold. I am looking forward to a reading this week but I will persevere and not get intimidated by anything in any shape or form. That is what I have beend saying for the last few days. Dang, ran out of salt just today. I used it all in my bath

I was extremely drained. I had to pull it together to get out of the bed and get the water. I should have posted this earlier, but I was smudging/cleansing the house this morning when I got up and really didn't focus on that occurance until this evening.

It is hard to describe, I am a very lucid and intune dreamer, and things like this do not happen often to me. It was very odd, especially since I am doing this work.

Glad I am not alone. It just seems coincidental for some strange reason to me. But I was reminded, as I am frequently, that regardless of what work I do, it is good to have protection. I am following jwmcclin and ConjureMan's advice, as well as doing a St. Michael candle as I really like the novena candles.

Sometimes you may get drained as a result of the spellwork...but I think the sage smudge (it was sage right?) and cleansing will add an addition removal of any negative issues associated...

Chinese Wash has worked great for me...

This is an ideal time being Sunday (a day for cleansing/protection work) and the waning moon (a time for banishing) and to boot the first of the year to begin new things...you are basically house cleaning.

Hi there!
Not to confuse the original intent of this posting, but just curious: I have also often gotten up from sleep (not recently) with a drained/severely exhausted feeling but without the emotional component that you mentioned of being abused or ravaged..this was mostly in my pre-hoodoo days...is this also hag riding or just a physical issue?
I also often get up in the middle of the night, convinced that someone is knocking on my front door, and at least once i have gone and opened it , half asleep...family and frineds warned me to be more careful (duh!) and although i have gotten that feeling since, i have never repeated that dumb mistake...but its very tempting to open that door. i have often wondered what it means?

However i have always been a prayerful person, so i noticed i felt less tired etc when i increased my daily prayers and also bathed with a straight salt scrub with the intention of casting off any spiritual gunk i might have accumulated.
I also took iron syrups ( i tend to be anemic) to increase my overall physical strength, which , believe it or not, supports your psychic/spiritual strength, and this helped me too.
From experience i think spellwork is just as taxing as physical work if not done properly..by this i mean just as we would space out physical work, do the same for spellwork etc...
Soalways look and treat for mundane as well as arcane issues, and pace out the spellwork if too much at a time drains you too much...just my 0.2c...:-)

Hi there,
I was surprised to see this post, because before my post on hag riding there seemed to be no one else who had experienced it. I won't tell you that it's not hag riding, because I've learned that "you never know". I've been hag riden, and for a while I was not even aware that was happening to me. To this day, I still dont know for sure if its ceased. I've learned that one shouldnt underestimate others, you shouldnt rule out an instinct, and consider all the possibilities. If you feel like there is an unwanted presence in your home, there probably is, if you feel like someone is tampering with you and your spirit they probably are.

I've received different recommendations for preventing the attacks, I've been told by different readers that it's a neighbor who watches me whenever I depart my home, I've been told that it's someone who liked me that I didnt pay much attention too, and he took it upon himself to violate me everynight, I was told that the perpetrator is tall, but never a solid description that I can go on. Therefore, I've taken preventative measures in the best way that I know how. Alot of the advice came from members on this forum, and it's meant alot to me.

The link below is my post on my experience with being hag riden.

request-for-help-with-night-time-protection-t3277.html

In some way I hope I helped...

Sounds like they are useing their "minds-eye" If so they can come and go at will. I had a friend in Ca. who as I talked to on the phone, could tell me what color my clothes were I had on in Ga. come to find out, it was a gift he had sent me, on my altar, that he focused on, allowing him in my house. In the old days, pre 1960's, people would place mirrors directly in front of the front, or back doors, makeingthe mirror the first thing that was seen when coming in the house. Also, they used an open scissors, under the front, and back steps to keep out evil. These seem to work for me, also gravedust, mixed with sea salt, placed around the outside of your house, works. I'm just offering options, that I've used and helped me when I was working. Best of luck to you and yours this new year.

I've only told 2 people about this because i know it is unbelievable to some, but i know what i experienced.

I'll just get right to the point. How do I do it? From scratch. I've also heard it compared to hag riding although hag riding seems to be used primarily for evil. Can hag riding be used for positive purposes and if so how can I do that? How can I just directly talk to someone in a dream or other nonphysical state? Thank you.

Other posters please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it'd hard for you to get an answer here. The forum is for LM products and some general Hoodoo spells/matters, and I think many of us don't practice what you mentioned.

Draja Mickaharic has two books you might want to read: Magick Simplified and Mental Influence. These will give you some ideas. Know that it takes a lot of work and practice though.

You could definitely incorporate some LM products into your goal of developing the ability of dream visitation. You may want to try Psychic Vision, and the herbs anise, flax, mugwort and wormword are associated with this type of work as well. As for telling you how...I'm not sure anyone can convey that knowledge to someone else. All I can tell you to do is try and keep trying. Also check the post entitled "Gift with Intent" - there was some related information posted there.

Good luck,

Thanks. I saw that thread and that was what inspired this post. But what do you mean by keep trying? How do I try? Is it just like a normal dream? Do I do it while awake? What do I do with the herbs and psychic vision? A mojo bag while I sleep?

There are many different techniques for dream work.

Some use astral projection methods, so you could start reading up on that and doing the exercises to develop your ability in that regard. I suggest Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce for that subject.

Others use lucid dreaming states, and there are also books you can get to develop that skill. Lucid dreaming as always been a strength for me, although I admit I have never used it for dream work at this point. Magical work, yes, but not for dream visitation conjure.

I hope that I am not breaking any rules by answering. My understanding is the forum is to discuss use of LM products- some of which are not specifically hoodo ingredients, so I assume it is alright to discuss how to use LM products in ways that are not traditional hoodoo practice. My regrets and apologies if I am mistaken.

I agree that visitation can be a bit complex for a beginner; I don't know if this is a skill that can be learned if you do not already have an inclination towards it- it wasn't something I so much learned as realized I was already doing and began to hone it as a skill. The books mentioned are good places to start. Some things to consider- have you ever had a dream in which all or a portion of it came true, or a dream that you seem to have shared with someone else at the same time, or have you dreamed about an event that happened while you were asleep (often a natural disaster or family emergency)? Do you have any practical experience with meditation and lucid dreaming? Can you imagine how to do something like meditate on a person some distance away and have them contact you, or focus on a stranger and make them do some mundane thing that you are thinking? These are good markers for having this tendency, and good examples of the same energy you would be using in dream visitation.

Definitely try LM's psychic vision line, it is wonderful for this purpose. Perhaps start by trying to dream of something specific- learning some control of the direction your dreams take as you sleep. Take a bath in bath crystals before bed, perhaps adding some of the aforementioned herbs. Make yourself a mugwort tea, light a psychic vision candle anointed with Psychic Vision or Archangel Gabriel oil, light incense of the same, anoint your own head, and spend a few minutes before bed in the light of the candle, focusing on the specifics of the location you want to visit in your dream. I find dream pillows particularly useful also- a fabric pouch with star anise, mugwort, lemongrass, and camphor is said to be good for dreaming of your true love; tuck it inside your pillowcase to keep it near your nose and activated (sending out scent) by your movements.

First attempts are best made somewhere you are familiar with and are welcome. An exercise I was given that you can try for practicing: ask a friend to write something on a piece of paper and putting it in a specific place you both agree on- they should not tell you the thing they write. And you don't necessarily have to tell them what you are doing- the key is that you know where the paper is but you do NOT know what is on it. Focus before sleep on physically visiting the place where the paper is- view yourself leaving your home, traveling the distance to the place where the paper is, passing landmarks, etc, opening the door, walking down the hall, finding the paper, and reading it. As you drift off to sleep, imagine yourself doing these actions. Imagine holding the paper, unfolding it. See if you can determine what is on the paper. Writing can be hard- start with a shape or even just a color. Some people do better with things like smells, or tactile feelings...in this case have your friend designate a place and put something with a good 'feel' or 'smell' that resonates strongly with you in it. Once you can successfully do this, you can move on to try meeting someone else in your dream with someone else who practices, or try locations you have never been but can visit in person after your dream visit to verify your experience.

Perhaps a novena to Archangel Gabriel and his image by your bedside might also help. The LM catalogue says he is God's Messenger; patron of telecommunication workers, dream interpretation, and conception. Or St. Clara, listed ast the patron saint of clairvoyance.
Thank you Saint Martha for hearing my petition and for your ongoing good works for myself and others.

Dream-visiting takes on many forms. Goddess's method is one way of doing it. Some workers simply determine they will have a lucid dream and then determine to travel when they are in that state. Other people perform a method that is akin to Astral Projection.

Dream-visiting is considered relatively difficult conjure to perform and like most of the other "psychic" based abilities requires more an innate talent in it. I've used it and incorporate it in my work quite frequently. I find it most effacious, but can tell you that it takes a good while to develop.

Invest in the books mentioned, read up on its history in Dream-Singers, and purchase the LM products mentioned to help you develop the skill. Get a few Psychic Vision candles lit for you, or light them yourself. Take baths in the products, brew teas as you practice the techniques mentioned in the books over a course of several months and you'll be on your way to a start.

Yes, certainly, I really should have pointed out that I have absolutely no real education on other's methods for this, it is just something I have always done and used- long before any magical practice including hoodoo, and it's so hard for me to imagine not understanding the process that my advice above was the best I could do. It is definitely something that will take you time to develop as a skill, I can imagine.

Interesting experience. Some people are able to dream travel unintentionally. Some people get visited by friends, go and visit family, loved ones. You should see if you can exert any control over you dream. See if you can become lucid and control who you visit and what you do while there.

Actually, this is similar to dreaming true in Hoodoo. I do not believe this can be learned, but anyone can keep track of his or her dreams. Any dream is beneficial in some way. Most people dream in symbols.

Anyway, if you want to influence dreams on someone, just work on him or her while he or she is sleeping. You can do this with any of the candles. The target will even tell you that he or she dreamed about you.

They will? Because most of my work is done while my target is sleeping. And she does remember her dreams and sometimes tells me or others about them (which is what made me think of this), but she's never mentioned any dreams about me. I just assumed that if she was dreaming about me, she wouldn't tell me, since that's kinda the way she is (or at least if she was having dreams about me in relation to what I'm working on her for - if she had some kinda goofy dream about me, she'd definitely tell me, lol). But if there's some sorta hoodoo thing that she would definitely tell me if she was, then I didn't know about that.

There are two types of dream work in hoodoo. Passive which involves dreaming true and dreaming lucky. I completely agree that dreaming true is more often than not an innate born talent.

However, dream work also involves the active form that Mary mentioned. This involves influencing people's dreams through candle work or other conjure. One method is dream-visiting. Sometimes the two overlap. If you dream about something that hasn't happened, that is dreaming true, but you can also go dream-visiting and eavesdrop or learn about someone while you are sleeping. Furthermore while dream-visiting you can influence another person directly. Its a fascinating concept and one that actually is curently being discussed by Dara and her crew. The power of lucid dreaming and how it is employed in hoodoo to influence others.

Depending on what type of work you do it can manifest as dreams for that person, or you can start out with the intent of influencing dreams. For example, if you are working love conjure that person may start having passionate dreams about you, it might be one of the manifestations of the work. This doesn't always happen, but sometimes the target reports having dreams. Or you can deliberately use conjure to influence dreams. Its in the intent. I've always found skull candles great for this line of work.

First of all, look at the context, does suspect your feelings towards her? I bet she does and if she does, she might not tell you about seeing you in her dreams. Also, she may not remember all of her dreams or she dreams in symbols. She also may not be getting enough sleep, which hurts dream time.

Actually, she doesn't suspect. She flat-out knows, lol. She does usually seem to remember her dreams though and they tend to be fairly literal. But yeah - based on the nature of our relationship, I highly doubt she would tell me if she had some sort of romantic/sexual dream about me. The way you said it though, I almost thought it was a definite thing though that she would.

Dreaming true takes on many forms. I dream true. I cannot always control it. I do seem to be connected more to certain people than to others. I have a female cousin who I have not spoken to in years, but I predicted her pregnancy, the gender of her child, and the birth date. I also predicted her health issues.

I see places before I have ever been there. I did this recently with a friend's house. I knew the exact layout of the place.

Now, if I want to know something specific, such as how to proceed with a certain plan, I will write down the question before I go to sleep. I will have the answer the next morning.

As for visiting people in dreams, I rather work on telepathic dialogue while awake. I concentrate on the person while he or she is sleeping and talk to them mentally. This takes time to really master, because most people project when they do this. They start thinking they hear the person tell them what they want to hear. I just work on getting my message across.

That's what I do.

Ah, Mary, you are a woman after my own heart ;-).

I love messages sent across distance like that. Though I've used dream-visting as well.

I think the nature of true dreams is that we can't always control them. They are spirit inspired, though some products have always helped me out. Psychich Vision has always helped bolster my ability to dream true. What about you?

Mary, that was a far better explanation than I could ever have made but describes what I have always done from that half lucid state just before drifting off. It sure works. I have never tried writing down a question for something specific, that is a great idea. I have not mastered divination by dream yet, not even close. Visiting/getting into someone's head/dreams comes easier to me.

As a child this began for me with simply imagining/fantasizing about my target and desired outcome; it took some time to decide it wasn't just coincidence that the outcome often happened in the waking world. Some targets respond right away, parroting back what I've said to them the night before just the next day- I love that, and it tends to strengthen the connection. Some people let it stew for a while and it usually bursts out all at once later down the road once I've given up on it like a big surprise ... oh- you *were* listening after all! I am so glad this conversation continued on, it is very interesting. I have always been sure most magic workers use dreams in their own ways, and it is wonderful to hear what others do.

I have found LM's Spirit Guide Oil to be very helpful when I seem to be having trouble with my normal routine working for me. I suffered from the inability to dream at all for about a decade- magical or not. I know that supposedly we all dream all the time but I truly think I didn't have any dreams at all for about ten years; and even now have difficulty remembering them but can at least detect that they happened, and have a trace of a scent of a memory when I wake. As a child and through my late teens I had a vivid dream life which was also very prophetic; I had a sister with severe handicaps with whom I shared an amazing connection, I dreamt of her birth and her twin's stillbirth as did her mother, I awoke with the knowledge she had died one morning and she had; and would always predict her next major seizure or illness within a day or two of the event even when my family was thousands of miles away and not speaking to me. Fortunately her mother understood and listened when this happened and as a result we were often able to intervene or at least be prepared.

Since beginning to dream again, the only dreams I remember clearly are those in which I travel or visit people- purposely or not. Now that I think about it, I've been using psychic vision and Spirit Guide oils together a lot lately and I have actually had more memories of dreams than is normal for me outside of my focused dream work. Interesting. Star Anise always helps me visit a person; burned just before bed with whatever else I am using at the time and crushed into a pouch put into my pillowcase- plus it just smells yummy and dreamy. I often use a personal incense blend of star anise, cinamon, cloves, frankincense, and sandalwood - using more or less of each ingredient as my needs change and sometimes adding to- not particularly meant for dreaming but it seems to help more than I expected, or at least I notice when I don't use it that my dreams have less effect.

I also find that creating a personal ritual for bedtime that focuses my attention helps-which was mainly the point of my last post. I make sure nothing will distract my thoughts as I go to bed- the room is spotless, the bed is neatly turned down, my incense, lighter, objects I use to focus, a drink of water for bed, all are set out and ready before I start. Once I come to my room and shut the door, all of my focus is on the work of the dream, and I like things streamlined for that purpose. I bathe with intent, using products that speak to my cause- controlling products, road openers, love products. But I really do find incense smoking as I drift off most helpful of all. Especially if my target is far away.

I also like to ask my spirit guides (and my sister) to protect me when I try to 'dream true', visit, or travel; to protect both my spirit and my body as they separate, and to guide me safely back. I think this is a good practice to point out to beginners. I have never had a bad experience (probably because I haven't tried it in dark work or with anyone who would believe it can happen other than the friend I practice with) but I have heard of some terrible stories of people who got caught by someone aware of their visits, or lost trying to return 'home', and had a difficult experience, to say the least.

I am looking forward to hearing more from others.
Thank you Saint Martha for hearing my petition and for your ongoing good works for myself and others.

Hmm, I keep a clear bowl of water under my bed and I sleep in a canopy bed with curtains. I make sure my sleep is protected. This is to protect me from hag riding. I have not experienced hag riding, but rather be safe then sorry.

I do lucid dream, but I am a better receiver. I always know when someone is trying to get a message to me and the dead have always visited me. This has been going on since I was a little girl.

The twilight time between waking and sleep is ripe for information. That is when I get the best information. Just as I am waking up.

I am not too structured before I go to sleep, because sleep is a creative process for me. I want to let whatever needs to flow, flow. If something is troubling me, then I will write it down.

I am careful about working on my targets during their sleep, because it sometimes causes insomnia. I am much gentler when a person is sleeping. Too often people get really forceful and that can backfire.

The Psychic Vision oil is nice as is the Guardian Angel oil.

Mary, you are awesome!
My grandma told me that while in school/college if she has a math problem to solve, she would put it under her pillow and sleep on it - in the morning she would have the solution!
She has nothing to do with any kinda magic. Neither did I. Im still new to this. But I did have lucid dreams, without doing anything for it! At that time I didnt even know that lucid dream was a term, and that it happens (I thought it was just me :))) The feeling is awesome! Usually I watch my dreams like a movie (the awesome part is that the next night I go to sleep and the movie-dream continues where it left off last night!), but lucid dreams are so powerful! Now I def wanna learn about Astral projection, I think thats awesome!

What else is cool is that even though when I wake up I cannot tell whats gonna happen today, when it happens - Im like "Men, I saw it in my dream!" But I dont exactly remember the dream, I just feel that I already saw it before or I knew it was going to happen (different from deja vu, which also had happened to me many times).

Thats all inspires me to dig deeper :)

I've seen several posts on how to avoid hag riding, so I am going to try the broom at the bottom of the bed. My question is more along the lines of why and/or how?

I was asleep and someone was holding me down. I could not move, yell, scream or anything. I read that hag riding is someone doing negative work on you. I have no idea who would do that or why. Could this be a result of what I have been doing? I have a few altars. One with Crown of Success, another with psychic vision, a relationship altar with IS and I had another with a honey jar but I chucked that one. Could any of the latter have caused that(hag riding)? Just to note, I tried a bunch of stuff before resorting IS. I don't think he knows about the IS since I hadn't seen him since we broke up. Lastly, I do a weekly cleansing with sage, dragon's blood resin and/or Chinese wash.

Hag riding is not as uncommon as people think. It can be from negative work being done, but usually it is a bad spirit that comes to visit you. Some people get them from not keeping themselves clean when visiting graveyards, sometimes they are remnants from work that was not cleaned properly. There are tons of reasons for them, but all you should care about is keeping them off you.

If you worked with the IS without doing proper cleansing, that might happen. It is not a fun spirit. I am assuming the target did not come back. The target may have been protected and you might have gotten some of the backlash.

I would take a 13 herb bath for the 13 days to make sure I was really clean. You can also do some reversing work to send the energy back to where it came from. That is the black and white reversible candle with crab shells on a mirror.

You can keep a clear bowl of water with camphor under your bed and a Bible opened to the 23rd Psalm. You can keep your bed covered (I do this) as a canopy.

If you are not familiar with the 13 herb bath it is found here (http://www.herb-magic.com/13herb-bath-13.html) and it is quite effective as is the Bible opened under the bed, I open mine to Psalm 91.

Wow, a bad spirit? From all the research I'd done, I thought I was cleansing properly. This is a shock. The last time I experienced hag riding was in college, and I've been out of college for at least 14 years. I thought I was prepared but it seems like I was not. I am kind of afraid now. Should I blow the IS candle out and dispose of it?

Mary,
In reference to the target coming back, he did and he didn't. I have the weirdest luck. Whenever I start work on a person I run into them. The first night I did IS, I ran into the target at a coffee shop the next morning. I hardly go to this coffee shop. I plugged coffee shop into my GPS to find the nearest one. I walked in and he was ahead of me in line. BTW the coffee shop is no where near either of us live. Day 2, I ran into him at a large store no where near my house or his. Day3, hag riding.

Oh, I am going to get the 13 herb bath. My orders from LM usually take a few weeks. In the mean time I have hyssop, dragon's blood resin, white sage, house blessing supplies, fiery wall of protection supplies and Chinese Wash . Would any of those help in the mean time?

Mary-
I have been able to for some time to get through to people during conscious waking hours. I am pretty good at that actually. An ex once asked me "were you thinking about me today?" and I said why- he said because I was in my truck and I felt like you were with me somehow. He knew I could and would do that frequently. It wasnt the only time. I can talk to one of my best friends as well very easily. I have not been able to astral project or do dream visiting. I have a friend who is very good at it. She has been doing it for years.

I did discover during a class project that I can remote view pretty well. I was fortunate enough to participate in a program in Holistic Healing at an actual accredited college for the brief moment they actually had it. We had incredible teachers. In one of our classes our teacher did a little "contest" to win a book. We had to "look" at her bathroom and describe what we saw. I was completely amazed when I won. It was a book that I already owned so I passed it on to the next person. LOL Anyway- my question is since I can actually send messages while both people are awake then I should be able to do it pretty easily while the other person is sleeping? I have never considered it. I know that one of the dear ladies who does readings for me (she is 70+) said that she can easily "slip into bed" with a target and has in fact been visited that way herself for a lil nocturnal loving! lol NOW THAT WOULD BE FUN! ;-) Sorry- I digress, So I guess if I try while my target is asleep then I just need to be gently loving and persuasive. No need for over kill since they are vulnerable at that time?
Sorry this was so long
Thanks alot

If you are sending them a message while they are sleeping, you are dream visiting. You would have to imagine what you want that person to see. Dreams are visual. While using a skull candle, besides just saying out loud what you want, also visually picture it and the image going to the target. The only way to do this work is with practice and to be conscious before you go to sleep.

Some people get too caught up in this and do not contact people in the physical. They do not feel the need too, since they are having these great dreams. Make sure if this is for work you need done in the physical world, a job, a lover, whatever, the target feels compelled to take physical action. This is especially true of love work, where there is a sense of security from dreams.

When I say "coming back," I am asking if you are in a relationship with him again, not just seeing him. Seeing him means that you received movement that the spell was working. I am taking you are not in a relationship now and are no longer working on him.

Thanks Mary-
I will be adding skull candles to my order. :-) Along with the appropriate oils, powders etc. Since the one I am working on is 2 1/2 hrs away this will be very helpful. I have another question. I am in the process of trying to get a LONG term lawsuit settled. I do know what the opposing attorney's look like. I was fortunate enough to obtain a brochure with a photo of one of them a couple of weeks ago even. But the judge I do not (yet). Can I do this work with only a name of the judge in this case? I mean ONLY if I have difficulty with the photo. It has been 5 yrs and I need to get this taken care of for my stepchildren and myself. So if I do NOT have a photo would this still be a possibility? I am going to start a honey jar on all of them. I did put them in the freezer- to "freeze" them from working against us. But I thought a honey jar would be helpful as well. Thanks for all of your helpful information!

Oh I am going to see about getting a reading done very soon. I should have the money in about another week.
Thanks Again

I have had this happen before, too. I wrapped a piece of garlic in foil and slept with it under the bed. Someone, I don't know who, told me the garlic would absorb any evil energies and draw them away. I also blessed the room with salt, water, and prayers. Worked like a charm, if you'll pardon the pun, and it never happened again. It was a really, really scary time.

Peace and Blessings,
The old hag! lol. Some people are more likely to experience this than others, particularly those who are psychically active, do a lot of ritual work, or project in their sleep. Most do not know what is going on when they sleep, but sometimes the spirit can project to another place, and the "hag" feeling is actually you struggling with yourself upon re-entry. (I have had some amazing experiences with this.)Sometimes you are simply engaging with energies from another realm; they are not all sentient in the same sense that we are. Unless you have been told by a qualified reader that you are under attack, it may just be a part of your spiritual development. It can be maddeningly uncomfortable, but usually is not a danger. It can even be a good sign that you are advancing in your development and astral activity.

Many Blessings,

This is interesting, I too started a thread about hag riding, because I was told by a reader that I was under attack. I've had alot of help for this problem, and I am not as afraid as I was to sleep anymore. I got some protection and have been ok lately. However, I believe that I've had a similar experience with this other kind of hag riding. I believe that I might have the gift of dream visiting and astral projection. I was recently on a cruise a couple of nights ago, and asleep in my room on the ship. It was very early in the morning, perhaps 4am or so, I woke out of my sleep only to realize that I was no longer in my room. I looked around the room, but my surrounding was different, I was no longer on the ship but in what looked like an old building or alley. Afraid, I pulled the covers over my head (it was very vivid), I stayed under the comforter for a few minutes and emerged to find that I was again in my room. It was an amazingly indescribeable experience. Later that day, after leaving the cruise and returning to my city, I stopped by my apartment (I rarely stay there, but live elsewhere at the moment) I had to hang out there until my ride could come and pick me up to go to my other home which was over 100 miles away. Exhuasted, I fell asleep on my love seat, (somewhat sitting somewhat laying), I awoke to find that I was having a dream about a man who was kissing me and blowing cigarette smoke into my mouth, in the dream I tried resisting locking my lips so that he would stop, and on some level, I remembered that I have a hag rider who attackes me in my sleep, so I tried waking myself up. I felt my body twitching, my eyelids fluttering, I kept telling myself to wake up, get up. I even started praying but could still feel the weight holding me down, finally I awoke. I dont know how to evaluate these experiences occuring back to back in the same day. Maybe I astral projected early that morning, and later that day the hag rider found me, because I was at the apartment that is not protected like my other residence is.

That is an interesting way of looking at it. More of a blessing versus a curse. When I thought more about what happened, someone was holding me. I could see their arms etc. I didn't want to elaborate at first, since I thought I was crazy. I could see the persons arms and legs wrapped around me, and one arm getting tighter around my neck. If this is a blessing, it scared the H*** out of me. I have been sleeping with the lights on since. This happened to me often when I was a kid, it stopped sometime in college. I don't know what to think.

P.S.
I blessed the house with what I had and put a bible under the bed with psalm 23. I was waiting to see if I should blow out the candle, so instead I moved it from the house to the garage.

I would get a reading so someone professional can look into the situation. Could be the deceased friend - could be something else.

Some cleansing and protection work should help calm things down until you can figure out exactly what is going on - which is why you should get a reading.

Get some Chinese Wash, cleanse your home. Get some 13-Herb bath, take some baths. You should try to clear the bedrooms well, try burning some camphor. Then seal the bedrooms with camphor squares in each corner (careful they are toxic if eaten if you have toddlers or otherwise "mouthy" kids). Petition St. Michael and burn some Fiery Wall of Protection incense; you can dust yourself with the FWP powder, too.

That should help guard you and your children's sleep until you figure out what to do.

I have actually heard of this. I had a client who was consistently held down by a spirit. It was a spirit she had picked up by accident. She got rid of it with the methods I told you about.

This gets more interesting. So I will assume i picked up the spirit doing IS? I tried to think of other reasons. Then it clicked that I live 1.2 miles from a cemetery, but nothing like this has ever happened and I never go in there. I just drive by it, daily.

I don't think it is the IS. I think you just picked-up something nasty.

Mamigirl --

Whenever one is actively working conjure on a regular basis it is to be expected that you will attract outside energies, entities and spirits. The energy you send out into the spirit realms / subtle planes of being have a ripple effect, like a stone on a lake, and naturally the beings that dwell in the lake want to see who is throwing stones. We are more visible and attractive to them, because we acknowledge their (mostly) unseen existence.

I once explained it to my husband like this: Imagine you are in a foreign country, alone, and do not know the language. Perhaps you're lost, alone, maybe homesick, possibly confused or bewildered by where you find yourself. Now imagine you hear someone speaking your mother tongue. How hard would YOU try to get to that person? Would you try to make him/her take notice of you? I know I would. I believe the desire to communicate is inherent in all expressions of being....but, I am a pantheistic Gemini. I plan on being a chatty spirit, someday.

Now perhaps the energies that have spotted the beacon that is your energy aren't particularly lovely sorts. That's where cleansing becomes so vitally important. Even benevolent spirits can make their presence known in startling and disturbing ways. The first several times I had experiences with my mother after she passed were terribly upsetting to me, even though I wanted nothing more than to be able to establish contact her. (In particular, the newly dead seem to be more prone to producing very shocking/frightening encounters-- my opinion; strangers in a strange land must learn the rules of etiquette all over again.) I had to have a heart-to-heart and let her know she was scaring the bejeezus out of me and she has since learned to be more subtle.

Likewise I have learned to keep myself/home/daughters WELL cleansed and warded because we seem to be sensitive and attractive to the energies of the spirit world. At times, despite my consistent efforts, we'll find we have unwanted houseguests. When it happens, there's nothing to do for it but step up the cleansing and call in more protective energies to shield youself.

We have been having a few such issues lately; in fact, last night I ended up having to smudge the entire house. Not long after putting my girls to bed, they were both up complaining -- the littlest about her "blue ghost" and older about "bad dreams." I ended up not completely clearing myself before going to bed for night (up too late -- again!) and while the girlies slept peacefully through the night...not I, said the fox! I ended up with the nasty residue sticking to me and had hideous "hag" type dreams/episodes for the short duration I tried to sleep. Not a great way to start a new day...so I spent a fair share of my time today making sure we don't have a repeat tonight. Now if I could only cleanse away the stomach virus my 9 year old brought home from school... :?

Interesting thread...I've enjoyed following it and finally sharing my story.

Take care & keep clear,

Michelle
