You can pin it the inside of your clothes or undergarments. The idea is to keep it close to the body, feeding it with your body heat.

I keep my mojo bag in my pocket because frankly, I think that wearing it on my personage is a bit difficult to conceal. My pocket is my usual pocket that I put cellular phone in. I have heard in the past crystal can zap a cellular or a watch or things of that nature. Can a Mojobag have enough power to malfunction a cellular phone? I have not run into any problems, but then again I now keep my cellular in my pocket with my keys. I am still curious all the same.

if the bag has a lodestone or magnet in it, it can mess up the phones screen, just like one would do a tv orcomputer screen.

That tingling sensation in the fingers that you talked about...BOY is it there. Sometimes it's so strong I can feel the wave come up through my hands...it's amazing. When I don't have my mojo on me, I actually miss it and can't wait to touch it when I come home. It's strange, but you totally develop kind of a 'relationship' with it....

Also be careful of stuffing a debit or credit card into your pocket with either your cell or a mojo with a lodestone or magnet. I've deprogrammed several credit cards, rewards cards, and hotel keys that way.

Can someone please tell me what constitutes as one tiem, as I was going to use a photo as a petition paper wrapped with magnetic sand inside and a personal concern, is this counted as one item or not? I've got confused lol.

I have heard of toby's being made that are placed in mojo bags and are pakets that have many things in them but are counted as one item. Is this a new orleans vodou thing, or is it found in Hoodoo as well.

Magnetic Sand is not counted because it is used to feed a lodestone when included in the mojo...

I have not heard of a toby being included in a mojo because a toby is another name for a mojo...

Sorry I heard in in one of rev ray marlboroughs books.

I'm not using a lodestone as i don't have one at the moment, and I was hoping to take advantage of the blue moon which is friday (second full moon in the month).

I'm going to use magnetic sand with a personal item folded into a photo/petition paper. So is that counted as three items or two?

I would go ahead and wait until you finish up with your cleansing before activating the mojo. As I understand it, the mojo is currently in a state of "dormancy" awaiting your personal concerns, breath, and a good feeding. I would think it wise to put your cleansed energy into the bag as opposed to starting out with issues that need cleared dogging your efforts.

Use the time until then to plan and rehearse your ritual so that you can put your very best into it. If you have an altar dedicated to works associated with the use of the mojo, you may want to place it there. Offer it a candle and let the mojo know your reason for waiting to begin your work with it.

I've create mojo bags and then held off on the personalization portion of them for a little bit. The herbs and curios don't go bad, so its not a major concern. Whenever you are reading and prepared, then go for it.

I'm not sure that kananga water has the cleansing properties of florida water - I believe it's used mostly in love work as it's based on ylang ylang (which isn't a cleanser of any sort).
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I am doing a spell to improve a few things in regards to my health; eyesight, weight, general wellbeing, and wanted to know if I was headed in the right direction, or if someone could link me to some suggestions as I didn't see anything specific when I searched.

So, I have a white bag, I was going to place an angelica root, self heal, and lemon balm. What could my personal concerns be? I was thinking a pair of used contact lenses for my eyes, but this is more general purpose so I have to be more general I suppose.

I would put in Althea and flax for great healing and health in general. While more European than conjure-oriented the herb eyebright was thought to be very good for the eyes due to it's appearance which was eye-like (doctrine of signatures). In magic it tends to be used for gaining psychic sight, but I see no reason why if put into a mojo for health, it's ocular-enhancement qualities would work nicely.

You can just use a hair for a personal concern.

Devi (as always) has a great suggestion, I would follow her advice along with your researched herbs. BTW I think the hair is a stronger link.

...even as the old contacts would have your DNA. (body fluids) Also I see you have a relationship with St. Jude. I would petition him as well while preparing the mojo.

I am also excited you mentioned eyebright,
I was wondering if I should omit it since it wasn't particularly a conjure herb/root, BUT I did utilize it in my tea that I did for the cleansing, so I suppose it wouldn't negate my intentions with the mojo bag, I do feel a connection to the eyebright.....

I am trying to avoid bag overkill and generalize the contents of the bag as much as possible without just throwing things in it because it "works"....

Healing (heal physical problems) definitely, 7-11 (for miracle work) is great and clarity...I think deals with clarity in terms of a clear mind (thinking) correct if I am wrong in my thinking...

I suggest getting a new mojo, if you know how then rebuild the one you have, wash and redress the hard stuff, replace the soft herbs, basically remake the whole mojo. But if you don't know what your doing its better to buy a new one from luckymojo.

Well, there's only one plan I want to change...I thought I wanted to move to New York City but then I just realized that Los Angeles is the one...so I was planning to change "New York City" to "Los Angeles" on my goal list...other than that, I don't want to change. Well you can forget about it and focus on the other goals that will work, but the mojo won't forget, however it will continue to work on the other things on the list. So work the mojo for the rest of the things on the list and work on your new goals thro candle magic, its cheap, a dozen white 4 inch candles and a bottle of Special oil number 20 is only 25 with shipping, and if you have Crown of Succses oil or something similar you won't need the Special oil number no, tho I do suggest getting it anyways, its good for all sorts of things

I have seen posted several times the question "How to tell if a Mojo is alive" but the question and explanation that I have been desperately seeking an answer too is

What makes a Mojo Alive?????

I'm having a hard time understanding cause I hear people say that they can feel their Mojo communicating with them, telling them things like what it wants to eat and where it likes to be placed, even people feeling like their Mojo is vibrating. The phenomenon of the Mojo is amazing to me.......

..... but I need to first understand how can a Mojo be alive when its made out of objects, herbs, and etc.

....what causes and how does a living conscience being is created or conjured into the bag from using non-living objects.

Everything has a spirit. The herbs have a spirit. The curios have a spirit. Conjure is tapping into those spirits and getting them to work for you.

When you create something like a mojo it's like you are creating a new spirit from the combination of the herb/curio spirits. Like a spirit collective with a single purpose - your intent. It's like when you refer to a group of players on the same team by their team name, The Bears, instead of naming them all individually. When they are playing towards the same goal, winning the game, they become The Bears. Get it? So your mojo spirit is your spirit-team for that intent.

If you don't do a good job of getting all the spirits to work towards the same goal, which is what you are doing when you are making and fixing a mojo, then you end up with a flannel bag full of random items. They are not a team. You have to coax them into being a team.

If you don't like thinking of them as spirits, you can think of them as holding certain energetic potentials. You need to be able to get all the potentials resonating with one another so that they are vibrating on the same frequency, and becoming a like-attracts-like generator for your intent. Your Will and power of energetic manipulation/direction, as well as ability to strongly visualize (or otherwise crystallize your intent), help create an astral pattern that will be reinforced by the constant feeding/working of the mojo, until that mojo-blueprint manifests.

So this collective spirit that is created within the Mojo is a conscience spirit that is intelligently able to communicate with the owner of the Mojo. For example I have heard how people say that their Mojo tells them what to feed them or how they tell their Mojo to work on a certain person.

This is a point that I really need clearing up as well....Is the collective spirit of an Mojo an intelligent spirit that is able to respond to verbal coercion? Can the Mojo intelligently express a desire for your intimate attention?

Devi hit the nail on the head. A wonderful explaination. As to whether the Mojo hand has intelligence or sentience, if you are looking for a scientific definition, no. However, we are talking about a spiritual entity that exists and interacts in a spiritual manner. Spiritually speaking it is *alive.* As such you'll find that as you accept this fact you'll be able to communicate with the spirit created by the mojo hand.

It will express certain things to you, give you impulses and hunches, let you know when it needs to be fed. With mojo hands its not about commands or verbal coercion, but rather about a symbiotic relationship. You create the mojo hand with a specific intent, it works towards that single intent as detailed in your petition and you feed it and keep it alive. You create a partnership aimed towards a specific goal.

Dear Conjureman thank you for input very insightful indeed, which I knew it would be because I have read some of your other post within this forum.

There was one thing that you mentioned that I don't think was explained correctly, you said if I were looking for a scientific explanation then no it doesn't have an intelligence but then you said that it is spiritually alive and. that it is an entity, which I totally agree with you that it is. The thing I want to. point is if in fact it is a spiritual entity then it should have an intelligence because Gods and spirits (like the orisha) have an conscience intelligent and I even believe that plant spirits have an intelligence.

Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to argue with you or disapprove you just looking for clarification, I will say i do understand more about the amazing magic of a Mojo more than I ever have before....lol...thanks to you and Devi

I think you are barking up the wrong tree, tlvb25. You should stop thinking in terms of "rules" or "instructions" and instead read about the entire system of folk mahic that is hoodoo. Start with my FREE online book, "Hoodoo in Theory and Practice." Read every page.

I have been reading and following your sight for years and i even have listened to your radio show i have a couple of sessions stored on my ipod. But i admit that i still would like more clarification is to what you mean by working with the spirit of herbs. I think i know what this entells for i have heard that some say that your hold the herbs in your hand and charge them with your intent, is this correct?

Different people will work with the spirits different ways - there's no one way to do it. If I sat here and wrote a stereo-manual for how I work with spirits, it could have 0% to do with how YOU would work with spirits, or ConjureMan would work with them, or HailDiscordia, or Miss Cat or anything else.

I wouldn't say that you "charge them with intent". We're not enforcing our Will upon the plant spirits like they are our slaves or something. We're helping to tune in all the spirits to the same work. Part of that is having your intent and your desire very strongly available, but I consider it more of a communication process, then some sort of "programming" or something.

This is part of where "the gift" that everyone refers to in hoodoo comes in. The gift has alot to do with this working and communicating intent to spirits. It can be learned to a certain extent, but you need to work on discovering how you best communicate with the subtle planes.

Devi you are an amazing teacher and you most definitely have the gift of explaining things..lol.

I totally understand what you are talking about i have been able to talk to the spirits of plants, stones, and crystal....especially tigers eye, laboradorite, and etc. I was once living by myself and i could do this openly but now i live my sister who is strictly christian and would judge my belief in natural magic. I have found that now since i havent been able to practice my gift and magic i feel like i have lost it, i hope this isnt the case though. I dont know what to do get back in tune with it...i have been having to stay with my sister for about 9mos now.

Believe or not i have had great success at hoodoo work like honey jars, jar spells, and even mojo bags. I was able to able create mojo bags that actually pulsated with a pulse in other people hands, but again since i have not been able to practice it seems as though i have lost my ability being that when i hold a stone or crystal it is so hard for me to hear it, sense its emotions, and it has been even been hard for me to move personal energy into objects.

I know that i fear that i have lost an ability is creating sort of a mental block with in me....i really hope that i havent lost my physic ability to communicate with the subtle plane and this it is just rusty and out of practice.

Again hello to the forum.

Now the two mogo bags I purchased have no correlation to dreaming or whatnot(as other mojo bags do) but I dreamed that it would be beneficial for me when Im not wearing my mojo bags that I could hang them over me while I sleep. Any reasoning to this? Also how often should I wear my mojo bags?

If your mojo bags want to hang out at your bedside...better listen to what they have to say! Just make sure they will not be seen/touched by anyone other than yourself. I sometimes place my mojos inside my pillowcase to have them close to me, but in a secure, secret location. With a new mojo, you should keep it on your person as often as possible to establish a good working relationship. Once the bag is working strongly for you, you can carry it in a coat or purse or keep it in a special, secure location on your altar. Don't forget to feed your bags on a regular basis and pay attention to their needs and wants -- as you've already found, they will cue you in to what they want! The wise conjurer will pay attention and do as they ask and the spirits of the mojo will reciprocate.

Sometimes the spirit of the mojo hand may communicate through dreams. It doesn't have to be a dream mojo for it to do so as well. The spirit may communicate in all sorts of ways, dreams, hunches, impulses, or simply this sense of knowing what the mojo hand is trying to tel you. Listen to the mojo hand, speak to it, build a relationship with it. As your relationship grows you'll find more and more amazing benefits from working with the mojo hand.

I know of many folks who like to place their mojos under the pillows or keep them by their bedside table when they go to sleep at night. I find that inclination is higher among my clients who either "dream true" or who receive dream visitations from ancestors and family members. Whatever it is, your sense of keeping your mojo bag near you while you sleep is definitely in keeping with tradition.

Now when its said to not let anyone see your mojo bag, its meant to not let anyone see it itself or is it like dont let anyone see the "idea" of it? Meaning like if someone sees the little tie strings sticking out or even the imprint of it under my clothes....will and intent instantly undone and the mojo bag isnt good anymore? Because I simply have no idea how Im going to wear the little bags at home without my family wondering or asking what is that. I know at night that I can implore good hiding methods though so no worries there.
