Online Catalogue and Shopping Cart Questions and Answers

Unread post by luckyhoodoo » Tue Nov 01, 2005 10:07 pm

Cat,

Any plans on putting out any new, printed catalog? Up until last year I
still had one of your old black & white ones (the destructive power of nieces),
now I'm left with your more recent colored one and I would love to actualy
frame it or find a good slip cover.

-Jason

(I have plans, but things are very unstable right now in terms of my workload. As you know, i had to take a lot of time off while my mother was dying, and just as that was settling down, and other kind of tragedy struck us: Last Friday, Lynette, one of the women who has worked for LMCCo part time -- and is the sister of Diana, a full-time worker, and the aunt of Eileen, another full-time worker -- suffered what at first was thought to be a stroke but turns out to have been a slowly leaking aneurysm. She is in the hospital, completely paralyzed on one side, and her recovery, which we hope and pray will be complete, is going to take a long time. This means that her sister and niece -- two of my best and most dependable employees -- may be cutting their hours or quitting entirely to care for her. Meanwhile, however, we have added two new employees, who are now in training -- Celeste and Brian -- but Brian is only working for us while he is laid off from his regular (seasonal) job as a welder, so who knows what the future holds. The upshot of all this instability, as far as a printed catalogue goes, is that i am working full time in the lab right now, 6 - 8 hours per day, with very little time left for web design or catalogue design. The desire is there, but the time is not, at least at present. So keep that old colour catalogue -- one day it'll be a collector's item you can sell on ebay! :-) cat)

Is there any chance of getting an old catalog--any catalog (printed)
I am a much better in hand visual person than on the computer---Ok I
am just a plain catalog Queen and not real big on technology.:)Lee

(The prices on the old catalogues are way, way out of date. You can go to the complete inventory page and print that out, you know. It's at
http://www.luckymojo.com/inventory
-- there are instructions for printing it right on the page. --cat)

Dear Cat,
I just wanted to write in and praise you and your very wonderful and helpful
staff in helping me place my orders for some things I needed. I had some
questions regarding some of the items I ordered and everyone I spoke with were
keyed in to what I was after and was able to get things in the works quickly.
I ALSO ORDERED THE BOOK! Oh, I can't wait to get it, but I am going out of
town for a week or so and will just have to wait till I get back. I am
learning so much now that I am back into studying your course again...I am so
excited !

Is the Lucky Mojo on line not taking PayPal any more?
I noticed that the new order form does not have it listed any more.

(If this is past due, I've been moving [lot of that going around here of late] and just got around to this message.)

/Thomas Potter (Elven Humor)/

(Paypal banned all vendors who carry any kind of tobacco in any form for any purpose. They won't accept payments for any portion of our line of goods because we sell ritual tobacco and some of our oils contain tobacco snuff. Being dropped by Paypal is no big economic loss to us, but it is a bit annoying that they are so morally programmatic... --cat)

UPDATE, 2023: We are BACK ON PAYPAL, because we no longer carry tobacco products -- and our customers LOVE IT -- cat

Cat, are you a member of Netteller?

Paulette28205

(Nope ... amd i am unlikely to try another service of the paypal type -- it takes too long to log into their sites, jump through their hopps, etc. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Personal Checks, Commercial Money Orders, Postal Money Orders, and Cash Dollars are suffient for me. --cat)

Just a heads-up to those here who are customers and students --
i just spent the last two days revising the Lucky Mojo catalogue page,
adding 5 new categories of products and services.

It's all at the usual place:
http://www.luckymojo.com/catalogue.html

This is by way of an apology for not responding at greater length to
posts tonight. :-)

Happy Easter!

Hi cat--

Thank you for the update re: your expanded
catalogue--it looks great! I did find, however, that
the link to the 'spiritual readings and consultations'
category gave me a 404 Not Found error. Is this a
case of a broken link? Or a category still under
development?

Best regards,

Edward Knapp

(Thanks for catching that, Edward -- just a dumb coding error on the top page on my part. Try refreshing and seeing if it works now, okay? THANKS! --cat)

Cat,

The Tiger Balm Liniment I got at your store works wonders (better than the
balm you get at grocery stores). I have major pain and am preparing for surgery
in a couple of weeks, and it works better than a lot of my medications.

So, soon I will be up and running and can start working on the links of your
web page. I should be getting my MAC soon. Fortunately, it seems some of the
work I did to get my wealthy relatives to share is paying off. I am going to
help them set up some computer stuff, and will be able to get my computer. :)
YAY. Between this and getting another HP laptop, some of my luck seems to be
getting good. :) So, I haven't flaked or anything. I also have to bring my
puppy by to show you cat, and to show everyone else again. She's gained almost
a pound, so she's still a tiny little chihuahua.

Hi, Gypsy,

We are all out of printed catalogues just now, and we have been putting all of our energy into getting the Lucky Mojo shopping cart system online (Thank you, Lara!!!), so there will be a short delay before Catalogue #11 goes to press. In the meantime, what i tell folks to do is to go to the Complete Inventory page: http://www.luckymojo.com/lucky-mojo-inventory.html -- where you will find all 3,500 items, with SKU numbers and prices -- and print it. Depending on the size of font you select, it can run from 30 - 60 pages, which is plenty of reading material, even without the pictures that one would see on the web pages or in our paper catalogue. Your grandmother can use this information to order by mail with a check, money order, credit card, or cash. You can facilitate this for her by printing out a copy of our blank order form, which is just for folks who would rather mail in their orders. The order form is at http://www.luckymojo.com/mojo-cat-order-form.html -- or she can phone us and give her credit card information that way, if she prefers. Yours, cat

LMCCo does not accept Paypal.

1) The rates are much higher than our credit card service charges and we see no reason to pay for a service we do not really need. Folks ordering from overseas can either get a credit card (they are accepted world-wide, of course) or they can pay with cash or a wire transfer. To arrange a wire transfer is complex and we will only do it if the amount if in excess of $250.00.

2) Several years ago Paypal stopped allowing us to use their service because we sell TOBACCO and they found out. They reserve the right to refuse to handle the accounts of anyone selling Tobacco, although they are highly inconsistent and arbitrary in their application of this rule. They told us that even if we stopped carrying Tobacco, they would not reinstate our service, but that we could change the name of our company and "try again." We walked away and have not regretted it. We still carry Black Candle Tobacco and use it in certain hoodoo oils, mojo bags, etc.

See ordering information here:

What steps are in place to ensure the safety of customers when placing credit card orders?

Sorry if this was addressed elsewhere, but I looked an was unable to find it in topics.

We use a shopping cart called Shopsite. Shopsite runs a secure site -- and it purges your CVV2 number after one viewing. However, we do not automatically process your card from the shopping cart in the way that, for instance, amazon does, in real-time. Instead, we transfer the data to our database, after which the CVV2 is purged and we cannot regain it, then we hand-run the card through our merchant services provider. If we have trouble with the card, we will telephone you. If we are out of certain items and want to suggest substitutions, we will telephone you. In short, the shopping cart is, at the present time, being used as a hybrid.

Hello,

I understand that LM does not accept Paypal for the purchases, I live with parents so I have very less privacy. I wanted to find out what name flashes in the credit card statement when goods are purchased from Lucky Mojo.

Eg. LUCKY MOJO or LMCC or something else.

If you have a business account with paypal, you can get the paypal debit card- which takes the money for transactions from your paypal account balance. You also get a small percentage back when you use the card without a PIN number. Its not big, but its something. I use my card for everything from utility bills, to groceries. I actually do not use it for LM/magick supplies, as I have a separate account for that (keeps my spending in control! lol)

You do not have to be a 'real' business to have a business account, but you do pay a higher fee (as cat mentioned) on payments you receive.

Hi I was wondering if someone could answer a quick question for me? When I placed my order online for the items i needed, I asked for discreet packaging but it didnt dawn on me that I didnt think of the special added messages i put down concerning my order... I know when ordering things from other establishments they send an invoice with the order as they are packaging things to ship and it usually included every word that the customer sent to them when ordering...The information I included is very private and do not need it to go beyond myself and Lucky Mojo. So after all that long winded explanation, how does the invoice arrive and is everything included or are the extra messages excluded? Thanks for your help it is appreciated

Its on our list of things to get done this year, but we can't promise any sooner then that. We sell a LOT of items and thus the catalog is quit big and takes time to update and print. I am hoping to be able to put the full catalog up as a PDF file, so that it can be printed out by customers themselves. Just bare with us as we get through all the things we need to do.

You can request "Discreet Shipping" in the message area of your order and your package will come with a hand-written return address that does not show our company name

You can use a throw-away gift card to order and the name of our company will not show up on your bank statements.

I wish we could have an are where we could pick and choose all of the LM products we want or need on a "wish list" on the LM website. Similar too a gift registry, That way when we run out of things or want new items we can have an online area where we can have that saved. Of course It should be for people who register with the website. Just a thought?

I am not sure what you mean, because we do not have "members" or "accounts" for placing orders. You just use the shopping cart, enter in your information, and the order is held at our shopping cart site until we download it. We do not charge your card automatically, but only after we enter the order into our system.

Hi, since I don't have a credit card, I have to send in my orders by mail. I sent in one earlier this month with a money order, and I was wondering, if I called the shop, could I verify whether or not they have received my order and/or give me an order number?
Thanks!

The shop can absolutely do both. Their customer service is excellent, and they have always answered any questions I had. Also, orders that require handmade items, and bigger orders, are taking about a month.

HI Supper,
I don't work at Lucky Mojo, but I suspect that what happened has more to do with the shopping cart program they use than any store policy. I bet you that what happened was after you tried to log in incorrectly a certain number of times your account was automatically blocked. You may need to give it a few days before it unlocks you, its a security measure that a lot of online ordering systems have in place for the protection of your personal information.

good luck,
Bri

supper,

Try calling the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. voice line and asking about your order (or that you would like to place an order). If there is a technical problem, the online shopping cart is not the only way to order, especially since the phone number is so prominent on the main website.

Hi,
I am wondering if I can send in my entire order (payment, petition, photos) via snail mail for light setting, because I would like to send in photos with the order at the same time. If I pay online, how will the photos be able to be added to the order/requests?
Also with the lights, is it better to focus on one type? Because I chose five different that I would like to have set - all for reconciliation and bringing back a boyfriend. Is this too much.

Sorry one more thing, I located a rootworker nearby that says they completed the Lucky Mojo Course. Is it too much to have them do spell work for me and also have the lights set at your church at the time?

Refresh the page.

If that fails, reload each image one by one.

If you have other programs/tabs open, close them to make more space.

If it still doesn't work, try again in half an hour.

Still no luck? Reboot.

Again, no luck? Borrow a friend's computer.

Otherwise, it's DOWN.

Yes, you can send everything by snail mail. No problem.

Yes, you can have a local rootworker helping you on your case and have the work backed up by havinbg Brother Ian set lights for you at the church.

Good luck to you.

Thank you :)
And thank you for organizing and maintaining such a wonderful site. Visiting this site really gives me a sense of peace. I ordered your book on Hoodoo (Materia Magica) last week. I can't wait for it arrive! :D

Hello LM staff!
I placed an order today and not all of the information in my special notes area seems to have transcribed. Hope this is an appropriate place to make the necessary addendum...

I ordered the "Attraction" spell kit -- the work I am doing is for money -- would it be possible to substitute a green 7 knob candle for the white? If not, no problem! I also wanted to request the sheet of parchment that's free for the asking with a spell kit order...free is nice!

I will follow this post for a reply and very much look forward to receiving my order.
Many thanks,
Michelle Hunter,

This forum is not the way to reach the shop. It is run by volunteers, many of whom do not work for Lucky Mojo.

Please send your message concerning your order to our back-office order-takers, to Angela or Alicia at

order@luckymojo.com

or telephone the shop between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pom Pacific time and ask to speak to either of them.

Good luck!

Just to add: I had to email Angela the other day and when she replied she was lovely.

Do disposable debit cards work? Like the Visa cards you refill? I'd like to place an order but only have paypal and you guys don't take it.

VISA gift cards should work at any location that accepts VISA, which LM does.

Hello everyone.

Yesterday I went to place an order with the shop over the phone, I was told that I should wait until I had internet access and order online. This is a problem for me, my internet access is sporadic at best and never on a secured network, so I can not use my credit card for fear of it getting hacked. I hope this is a temporary thing as I am sure I am not the only one that ,for whatever reasons, cannot order online. So was this temporary or is this now store policy?

Will LM accept PayPal payment? I wanted to pay by PayPal and don't see any options and wondering if LM will accept PayPal as payment for my orders. Thx...

Its a bit of a shame tho, since millions of people across the world use paypal all the time and people do love the convenience of it. I am not an employee of theirs btw :D
