If I am doing a money mojo bag, I put in pyrite, allspice, a cinnamon stick, a lodestone, a nutmeg, five-finger grass, and a piece of dried ginger. If it is work related, I would substitute the nutmeg for Irish moss and the ginger for blue flag. Blue flag is fine for money, but I would definitely put in some five-finger grass.

Here's a question I've been mulling over...
If you do not reside in the US, would it be better to replace currency curios, such as mercury dimes or $2 bills, with the actual currency that you are trying to draw in?
I know money is money - banks will take any form. But from a resonance perspective, would it make more sense to have your own currency being used?
I realize in the case of the mercury dime the connection to the god mercury is part of the symbolism being used, so perhaps that is still transferrable in that respect. But how about the $2us?

Not quite, poor black folk in the south weren't much concerned with Greek and Roman mythology, its more that it was a sliver coin. So I believe anyways.

But how about the $2us?

The two dollar bills are used because they are relatively rare in the US, not used much at all, if thier is some denomination of bill with like symbolism use that. For a money mojo, if you live out side of the us use a high denomination bill, high as you can.

I put together my LM money drawing mojo and the instructions said to put the lodestone and the personal concern inside the petition paper and fold it torwards me.

I wasn't sure what the lodestone looked like and I accidentally put the pyrite in the paper with my personal concern instead of the lodestone. How do I correct this...do I take the bag apart and redo it or should I just leave it as is?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have heard and read different responses to your question. Personally, I would not reopen a mojo after it is charged. Has it been charged or did you just finish it and realize the mistake...and how do you figure that you used the pyrite instead of lodestone if you do not know the difference?

I reopen bags to add items to them as I go along. Mainly with love spells ill open it up and add personal items as i get em. i just breath into it again, feed it and move foward. Cat mentioned on her site about using a hand with gambeling and placing some of the winnings in the bag as thats trained money, but never to take all the money out, make sure some trained money is always in the bag. Under that premis I think you are fine to open it up just breath into the bag, state your petition and feed it. good luck

I have purchased a triple strength money drawing mojo hand - my question is: can I feed it with wealthy way oil AND the money drawing oil, or would it be too much of a mixed bag so to speak? I wanted to get as much out of the mojo as possible hence my Wealthy Way idea.

Yes you can - I usually make an oil blend from various oils that match my intent.

I was suggesting that you stick to what comes with the mojo kit for the first while, since the mojo kits are put together using very traditional recipes that involve feeding the bag a particular oil. I suggested waiting until you developed a rapport with the mojo before changing up what is a very established hand.

When making a mojo from scratch, you can decide on whatever oil or blend of oils that you wish.

There are several withdrawn Canadian bills that would be interesting to get ahold of and see how they work. Look up "Withdrawn Canadian banknotes" online.

Actually, in reading that article it's interesting that The Kids in the Hall used the $2 exclusively in their sketches. I work with alot of comedians, so it would be cool to experiment and see if it might be particularly effective in drawing business-money through comedy!

Unfortunately Canadian banks don't carry these notes, as they are instructed to destroy them when they do come in. I'll have to seek some collector sources for the bills.

I would do my best to find a dime in my birthyear. Ask your friends if any of them keep spare change around (most people do), and see if they would look or let you sift through it for a birthyear dime. Just say it's for a scrapbook project if they ask. It may take a bit of work, but the effort you put into finding an appropriate dime will be well worth it.

LuckyLady8, surely you undertand the difference between "will work / won't work" and "less effective / more effective." You are simply fretting yourself over nothing if you interpret the opposite of "more effective" to be "won't work."

You can always find money minted in the year of your birth by going to a coin shop. You do not need to buy an expensive mint-condition coin, just one from your year. Alternatively, you can take any kind of lucky coin and carve your initials on it.

Yes, you can call the shop and they will check if they have a certain date in stock for you. It would help if we knew your birth year...is it in Mercury/Liberty dime time-frame (1916 through 1946) or not?

today i'm working on a money mojo bag.

supplies that i used:
ten dimes from a local business
brown paper, torn around the edges
dragon's blood ink
black quill
5 tea lights
cinnamon oil (evoo, cinnamon chips, and cinnamon powder)
eye dropper
one cinnamon stick
one whole nutmeg
one ginger root

i first made the oil by mixing the chips and powder while saying this prayer
"heavenly father, may your power work through this oil to crush mountains that block my path and set my feet on the path to prosperity, may it increasee the fruit of my good work and bring about wealth and bless it. in jesus name. amen"
i set that aside. ( i did this yesterday )

i went out this morning to get the ten dimes with one of the four dollar bills i have and i buried one near the entrance of the store. i then went home to do my spell.

i arranged the dimes in a cross with one in the middle and four even arms. i then took my brown paper and wrote my full name 9 times across. (as i was writing the tea lights that i had lit before started popping and flickering and one went out during my annointing.) after writing my name i wrote "prosperity is mine" 9 times crossing my name vertically. after that i wrote one dollar sign at each corner. then annointed with cinnamon oil the four corners and th center. folding the paper 3 times turning it clockwise and folding towards me. set aside.

i then annointied the candles with 9 drops of th cinnamon oil. (should i have wrote prosperity on the bottom of the tea lights??) i annointed the ginger root, nutmeg and cinnamon stick with 9 drops of the cinnamon oil. i placed one candle at each point of the dime cross laid out the cinnamon stick, ginger root, and nutmeg in the center of the cross. i placed my petition on the ginger root and placed the 5th tea light on the petition. as i was lighting the tea lights i prayed for wealth, prosperity, and success. ( i went out to get applications after lighting the candles and applied to a couple stores last night)

the right candle went out fairly quickly and spilled out of a crack on the bottom. the candle closest to me just went out and has a pool of wax around it. waiting on the the other three to burn out so i can put all of the dimes, ginger root, cinnamon stick, nutmeg and petition in a mojo bag and dress it with mony drawing oil.

i also have a green money mojo bag that has three cinnamon sticks annointed with fast luck oil, one whole nutmeg annointed with money drawing oil and a couple of allspice. i feed it hoyt's cologne and i keep it in my purse or wallet to watch what i spend.

all the candles went out at 4:38pm while i was doing a starbucks application. i have plenty of applications to annoint with job oil or should i just stick with the cinnamon oil i made??

two of the candles leaked and the others went out with the smell of burnt wax(wick). one candle spilled out two little "feet" "ears" and the other candle wax surrounded the tin. i'm disposing the tins and candle wax in my back yard along with my "dead" mojo bag.

i didn't know if someone touches your mojo it dies. i'm making sure this mojo doesn't get touched by anyone.

since the day i made the mojo bag i've had many things happen. first off i'd like to say that this mojo bag was a success. i got a job working at a jewerly store working for the holiday but they are hiring in january. (i hope i get it. ) it pays very well and i never would have thought this would fall into my lap so quickly. i had the interview the 16th that was 3 days after i made it. it turns out that my brother has been doing some research with this company and found out that the managers are taurus's. my kind of people. my bank account has $0 dollars in it and my brother and sister have been helping me financially and helped me get some proefessional work clothes but now i have the power to stand on my own two feet and finally start making some changes. i would love to see if this worked on anyone else. this was GREAT!!

I also want to comment on something you wrote above:

I know that you know better now, but this comment of yours points out to me how many people using this forum are complete newbies to conjure and are trying to practice without getting instructions from a family member, community elder, or even researching the traditions through written materials.

The matter of not letting anyone touch a mojo has been passed through families and communities for unknown ages and has been documented in print and in song both from within the community and by interested outsiders for more than 100 years. This important information was actually one of the very first things that i put online in 1994, when i first began writing about hoodoo for the internet. Then, in 1997, i transcribed and placed online the entire lyrics of the 1932 song "Take Your Hands Off My Mojo" by Coot Grant and Kid Socks (Leola B. Wilson and Wesley Wilson), just to make the point explicitly clear. Yet newbies still often overlook this integral part of the work. Following a spell in Cat's book, I am making a mojo hand for money-drawing. There were lots to choose from, so I decided to just pick one and see if it did the trick. This is what the spell said to use:

--I bought Prosperity incense and sachet powders. Will this be ok to mix with the Money-Drawing oil?

Now, I've bought pre-made mojo hands before, but this will be my first mojo I've made myself. So I know I have to do certain things, so my next set of questions:

--Over how many days should I do this? (i.e., should I burn the candle all at once or work it over a number of days?)

--How many times at the outset should I feed it? (that is, when I'm activating it)

I also know there is a best day of the week to do this, and I bookmarked the thread that gives those days, though I can't remember which was for money, but I'm assuming I should do it on that day?

No. As has come up before the concept that magic must be worked with odd numbers is false, some people count and work with odd numbers, some do not. Of those that do count some would count each bean separately, while others would count them as one thing. Don't worry about it.

Up to you, I would carve the words "Money Come To Me" in a spiral around the candle with a dollar sign at the beginning and end of it.

Generally, you would assemble and tie the mojo all at once, but you can then work it on your altar for a period of days to heat it up and set it working, how many days is up to you.

--What prayer should I say? Just my intentions for money to come to me?

I would fervently pray the 23 psalm and pray from your heart.

--I assume I smoke it? How many times should I pass it through the incense smoke?

I don't usually pass a mojo through smoke, I was taught to hold it in the smoke as you speak to it.

--How many times at the outset should I feed it? (that is, when I'm activating it)

Feed it once a week, for as long as you have it.

If you really feel you must time it by the days of the week, Thursday is for wealth, Friday for luxury and Sunday for success, tho in North America Friday is very popular for all kinds of money work as most people get payed on Friday and Venus, the planet that rules Friday, is associated with Green, the color of the American Dollar.

I am trying to think of the perfect way to phrase the request paper part of the mojo that I purchased. I want it to be centered around my success in writing. I have been working on a novel and occasionally enter writing contests.

I did not know if simply "I want more money from my writing" would be sufficient. I know that I am supposed to be as specific as possible. I would really like the phrase to encompass all my writing and not just the novel which is likely to be a while in the works.

There isn't any "perfect" way to write petition papers. There are many traditional ways, and some new ones -- and many of these are effective, which is what matters.

You could write that paper as a brief letter to God, or you could write out your desire in complete sentences crossed by your name. I like to do that on a printed copy of a Psalm -- and every psalm has its purpose, as you will see here:

Yes it does matter. Tradition states using a dime, so you should try your best to actually use a dime. You can always to the bank and get a $5 roll of dimes. Good luck!
