LMC Forum Seals, Badges, and Avatars

Unread post by Turnsteel » Fri Feb 13, 2009 6:39 pm

Hi everyone. I have wanted a new tattoo for a while now and yesterday when i did my weekly money spell it hit me. I think i may get the art from luckymojo Fast Luck oil on my shoulder. I'm posting mostly to ask if that's ok with Ms.cat. I know some people have strong feelings about tattoos and i won't get it if she objects to me using her art. Incidentally the art on the fast Luck products is my absolute favorite, they all look so nice but Fast Luck seems to, I don't know, speak to me almost. It may help that its my absolute favorite oil to work with lol :D

So yeah Ms.cat if you would please let me know if your ok with me using your art for my next tat i would greatly appreciate it :)

Interesting...
I'm not a tattoo kind of guy by any means (I'm pretty preppy in dress style) , but I've played in the past with the idea of either getting the Lust card from the Thoth tarot deck or the Lucky Mojo Crown of Success label as a tattoo

The families that I grew up with, the two are not mutually exclusive! :D Funnily enough, I began thinking yesterday about a new tattoo as well. One idea I had was a mercury dime and devil's shoestring around my lower leg. It would be less for actual protection, and more for what it symbolizes: protection from crossing and goofering, freedom to walk where one wishes, and luck. Haven't decided yet, though.

I would love to see folks use my art as tattoo flash! What a compliment and honour! Thank you!

As for the tattoo of the silver dime on the ankle, that's brilliant (albeit painful). The dime is usually worn on the internal side of the ankle, on a string. A clear photo, for art reference purposes, can be found here, at the bottom of this page of photos taken in Mississippi by Newbell Niles Puckett circa 1926:

Good luck to both of you! When you do it, post photos!

Lucky Mojo is pleased to offer a selection of web seals for graduates,
online affiliates and resellers.

If you are a graduate, you may use this seal:

If you purchase wholesale from Lucky Mojo and resell our products at
your web store or physical store, you may use this:

If you have joined the retail affiliates program, you may use this on
your website:

The seals are currently designed to be on a white background. I can also put up versions with a black background and gifs with a transparent background.

WOW! Lara you are wonder woman!

Query, must we choose only one or are all 3 available provided we meet the criteria?

This would be my question too. I just made my first wholesale order
(yipee!!!) so I could use both the practitioner and reseller seals.

Also, since I made a wholesale order and I do see customers and
clients in my home can I be added to the Lucky Mojo Retailers page?
What are the steps to be added to that?

Lara...the seals are wonderful. Thanks for your hard work!

Thanks

The seal is wonderful. Thank you.  I printed it out and glued it to a paper bag for a Hoodoo Delivery.  It looks great and my customers really liked it as well.  I'd like to have it made into a decal, so I can put it on my car.

Oooh!  oooh!
I love the decal idea!
There would be a small number of us, driving the roads of America (and Europe too!) with Certified practitioner seals.  Folks would be so compelled, and confused, and fascinated--its like the beginning of a good novel.
Brilliant idea Najah!

Oh, I'm getting all goose-bumply now.

Did I mention that I have a shot at a storefront (or maybe it's more
of an office) with six months' free rent? And me with no inventory,
hardly. I need to talk to my friends in town -- all three of them --
and ask who I can form a spiritual/herbalist/artist collective with.

Ack!

I just purchased a car door magnet from Vista Print.
They allow you to upload your ownpictures.
They also have window decals.
Hope this was helpful.

Oh, this is very helpful. I was just trying to figure out how I could get it made into a decal. And die-cut stickers on rolls would be awesome too, because then instead of glueing them on my paper bags, I could just stick the seal on them. Hmmm, we could use them on our doctor's bags, back of business cards. I think the possibilities are limitless.

I wanted to ask, may I have your permission to have the Certified Practitioner seal made into a decal?

Thank you,
Najah

Deb,

In her original post, Lara made back-slashes instead of forward slashes. Here you go again, all fixed:

Cat, would rolls of these stickers be something you might add to your inventory for qualified students to buy from you? I am so clueless when it comes to advertising products and labels.

Najah, you can, of course, have your Certified Practioner badge made into a decal. We have large megnetic signs of the Lucky Mojo Curio Co. logo on the sides of our shop station wagon.

Marion, you may use the badges but we will not sell our labels or company logo -- that would allow other folks to make their own products and collect their own money by pretending to be us!

UPDATE: I spoke to an artist this weekend who said he was willing, but there were issues. A silver dime would have to be enlarged to a pretty good size to be recognizable, and devil's shoestring will not look like much no matter how well done. I still like the idea of a hoodoo tattoo, so I'm holding off until I can come up with some new designs.

I just figured out where you came up with that Lucky Mojo logo -- Lucky Celery. I saw an original of the old crate label for sale with other labels at an antiques store. Pretty slick.

Siva and i have designed a new Lucky Mojo Forum logo and colourway.

Image
Lucky Mojo Forum Logo

Also a new Lucky Mojo Book Co. logo and colourway has been launched.

Image
Lucky Mojo Book Co. Logo

The original Lucky Mojo Curio Co. logo and colourway remains unchanged.

Image
Lucky Mojo Curio Co. Logo

We have modified the colourways and identifying text cut lines for the Forum and the Book Co. to give them individual identity. These new logos will be printed on business cards which are handed out at the shop and inserted into customer packages. Additionally, they will appear as "sponsor" graphics on all of our upcoming You Tube videos.

All these new variations are directly derived from the original Lucky Mojo Curio Co. logo created for us in 1996 by Steve Vance, from the model of a Lucky Celery crate label in my graphics collection, and augmented with four lucky clovers drawn by the comic book artist Trina Robbins. And here is where it all began -- at the Lucky W Amulet Archive :

Image
Lucky Celery Label

Along with the new Forum colourway, siva is making new Forum badges to match and he is finalizing the pixels now. Look for them soon! THEY WILL REPLACE OLD FORUM AVATARS AUTOMATICALLY.

Thank you, nagasiva!

P.S. Remember -- we bring you a FREE forum, FREE podcasts, FREE web pages, and FREE product giveaways -- and our FREE Youtube channel will debut on January 1st, 2024 -- but we support all of these projects with YOUR purchases of Lucky Mojo Curio Co. products and Lucky Mojo books. If you stop buying, this forum and all of our free stuff will VANISH.
