Houston Newbie (in need of guidance)

Unread post by naysue » Wed Mar 17, 2010 10:10 am

I have read through the topics on the forum enough. I finally decided that it was time to stop snooping and create a post of my own.

I am new to spellcasting. Last summer I started an herb/flower garden and watched my beauties grow. I watered and talked to my plants everyday and loved standing outside on my patio. Then I went away for a weekend, returned and everything was dead. Maybe the weather changed...maybe they missed me.

I'm always burning candles and incense in my house. I have a "talking" cat that is always right under me.

Every now and then I have my cards read...and on occasion I pull out my cards and attempt readings on myself (I know this isn't recommended).

Well, sometime ago a friend came into my life and began to point out how in many ways one might consider me a witch. She began bringing me books, having extended conversations about astrology and the moon, etc., etc. I began mixing oils. I completed a Wicca-style Money Draw spell. I know that I'm supposed to remain positive and know that the spell is working its magic in some way. However, a few days after I cast the spell (according to the moon/day/etc) my bank account went into the negative and other unfortunate occurrences took place.

And then my friend showed me this website. I finally ordered a lodestone spell kit.

I just feel like...where do I really begin in order to make my spells more effective? I want money, creativity, success...and the way my boyfriend has been acting lately, maybe I need to do a spell for my soul mate as well (it might not be him).

I would love to do the Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course, but I know I need to order more items first.

I live in the Houston area and just wonder if there is anyone on the forum that might be able to give me some guidance. My apologies for the long post...

One of the best readers and rootworkers i know -- Starr -- lives in your area of Texas. She does phone consultations all around the country, but she will also arrange to see people who come out in person, if you pay for and book the consultation in advance.

We carry her book of money-drawing spells:

BOO-GRI-HOMC Book Spellcraft Hoodoo Money Conjure, Starr, Spiral Bound $12.95

I cannot say enough about Starr as a teacher, mentor, and helper. She is not in Houston, but a short drive away, in WInnie, Texas. Contact her through her AIRR page:

Tell her cat sent you!

Her books *are* great. I wish she'd publish more. Between her and cat we've got some wonderful publications on hoodoo.
