Hello, Catlady409 ,

That happens frequently. Especially if there's a little too much sulfur in the incense. Or if it's on a charcoal block, it will also happen. Or if there's herbs n the incense, again, that will happen.

If it keeps happening with the same behaviors, then I would view it as a sign

I've tried 2 {separate} times to light my incense! and both times it doesn't burn down all the way. It seems to only burn 1/4 or 1/3 of the way, then it goes out. I don't know if its because I use it outside, or what. (I use it outside because I feel like if I burn it inside my apartment the fire detectors will go off)
When I use it outside, I try to do it on a day when it's not really windy.

When I light Lucky Mojo loose incense, mine does the same thing. I just use a spoon to kind of mix it up and scoop up the unlit incense and dump it on top of the lit "cherry," so the rest burns. But sure, if you're burning it outside if there's wind, I bet that's influencing things too.

You can also try packing your cone a bit tighter. I find I only have the partial burn issue if I'm not actually using a cone form of some kind (I like using an icing cone tip from the bakery section of the store). You still may find you have a bit left over, which you can, as sisterjean suggests, carefully put back onto the cherry.

I don't have a question. I just wanted to comment on the Four Roses Agarbathies Incense. I just received it in the mail today and I lit one. The smell reminds me of a woman from my preschool that used to babysit my sister and I. Her name was Rose, and she always had this unusual, distinct scent. I haven't smelled that scent in years, since I was in preschool. It just brought back some childhood memories of falling asleep on my pull-out couch in the living room of my old house with Rose babysitting us.

I had a couple questions to make sure I do the unjinxing spell Conjureman Ali told me to do on the LM Radio Show on 10/9...
- Do I mix the saltpeter, Jinx Killer and Road Opener incenses in equal amounts to smoke my home (since I'm currently working on my business from home) and myself?

- If I can't find a crossroads to dispose of the incense remnants, how should I dispose of it? I searched the forum but couldn't find disposal alternatives specific to unjinxing.

- Do I need to face a certain direction when disposing of the incense remnants no matter where they're disposed of?

Once I do this work, I'm going to burn a red vigil for Archangel Michael for protection. While it's burning I plan to purchase a St. Michael medal (with or without his sigil) so that I can keep it on my home office desk and carry it with me too.

Thanks, Miss Aida. I appreciate it. The show transcript hasn't posted yet, but I've re-listened to the show and Conjureman Ali said to throw the incense remnants over my left shoulder but didn't say an East South North or West. He mentioned mixing the Unjinxing and Road Opener incenses together when I smoked my home and myself, but when smoking my front door - then he mentioned saltpeter (Ms. Cat said to mix all three from the get go when she recapped what Conjureman Ali said). I just want to make sure that I get it right so I'm unjinxed!

Hello, Masterdaddy96 --

Those are good questions. Let me try to answer in a way that will help you both with the use of those incenses and with Spiritualism and talking with the dead.

First, you will need a charcoal disk on which to burn resin incenses such as Gum Arabic and Dragon's Blood. They are twoo dense to burn on their own under normal circumstances. You will need a heat-broof incense brazier or pot and it should be lined with clear sand. You may prepare it first by copying out a verse from the Bible on the subject of incense, burning the paper to ashes (this is your hand-copy, not an actual Bible you are burning), and rubbing the ash inside the incense brazier, then pouring in the clean sand.

Light the charcoal and when it is glowing (just like at a barbeque) slowly drop onto it crushed fragments of the resin.

Smoke will arise and you should observe the smoke. It will often (not always) reveal faces or shapes of spirits. If it does, speak to them. Always test the spirits to see that they are of God and goodly in nature. The Devil can mimic the dead, so be careful.

If you see no images in the smoke, don't worry. Just ask for the one with whom you seek contact, by name, to appear to you in voice if not by sight.

Most people cannot contact the dead directly, but they do see spirits in the smoke or hear their voices. Ask any spirit whom you contact to go and bring back to you the spirit of the dead one with whom you wish to converse. Many Spiritualists report that they cannot contact the dead directly, but that they see Spirit Guides who offer to bring you the one you want as a service to the living and the dead. They will bring the one whom you seek.

I personally prefer a mix of four gum resin incenses for this type of work:

Gum Arabic
Dragon's Blood
Myrrh or Copal Negro (Black Copal)
Frankincense or Copal Oro (Golden Copal)

An equal-part mix is fine.

Hi, there. I'm a newbie to this sort of thing and am wondering what this scenario means. My mother's house was the site of a lot of abuse at the hands of her husband and there is a definite darkness to the place.

Every so often I place a pair of incense cones on the mantle of her living room and when lighting the first one recite a prayer: "May the love and the light of the Lord come in and replace all of the dark energies and entities in this place, may it clean and leave this place free from all that mean harm. Amen."

I then begin a short session of yoga while the first cone burns. As that one is near done, I'll light the second during the yoga to find that it doesn't extinguish. It instead burns almost to the bottom rapidly. Producing very little smoke.

When done in the basement, the darkest, most foreboding part of the house, the cones can barely be lit or they go out very quickly after producing a very weak flame and little smoke.

Any ideas?

If this was not an incense purchased from Lucky Mojo (and you didn't mention the type of incense), I can't be of help. This is because it may have been a lesser quality cone.

On the other hand, if it is a regular cone or dhoop incense from Lucky Mojo, it may be that the cones lit in the basement are actually helping you to identify the most negative portion of the house, while those on the mantel seem to do better, so that room is clearer of negativity.

Your practice is admirable, as is your prayer.

I'm looking at using quite a large quantity of incense for an outdoor project. I'm thinking of combining the total amount of four separate condition incenses and lighting it. 4oz of incense is quite a bit, so I"m going to try some practice runs before I do the actual deployment. I want to see how the burn is with a significantly larger quantity of incense, also in an outdoor setting, with minimal wind. Temperature is also something I'll be observing. I'd like to use a disposable, temporary container before anything too. I've thought of a type of larger paper-type Solo cup; not anything plastic either.

I use metal. It is safe. Especially the censers that are designed to withstand the heat.

I agree that the Three Roses incense reminded me of days past in the 70s -- our family must have used it.

In fact I whipped up a success charm for myself today in a money matter --I call this kind a "MacGyver" charm when I do one, usually the case is that I do not have all of my supplies or regular altar at a current location around me (as was the case today). I had some Three Roses dressed in Black Cat oil in the bathroom already. I anointed myself with Crown of Success and dusted my hands with attraction and money drawing sachet powder (massaging upward onto my arms while making my plea). I took the lit incense stick and "wrote" the $$CC$$ sigil in the air before me five times, walking through the smoke each time, while concentrating on my need and speaking it aloud with my prayer. Re-anointed my hands with Pay Me before going into the bank and made sure my handshake was firm and confident.

I had what I needed done in my favor in under 15 minutes with no fuss at all. I make thanks to St Expedite as well.

'Writing' with the dressed incense, while seeming unorthodox to me, helped me focus on my desire from the charm.

I'm assuming you asking because you don't want to have to burn them on charcoal - remember, if you have a candle snuffer, just pack it full of incense and give it a gentle tap and you got yourself a cone incense! If your crafty you can make something like a Vantine cone shaper by cutting an aluminum can too (be careful though, metal can be very sharp!)!

Hope that makes it a little easier to use loose incense!

Hey there all you DIYers!

I have been making my own loose incense, which I typically burn on charcoal. The only problem with this method is that though it is wonderful if I am doing spellwork out of doors, it is way too smokey and cloudy for indoor use. I would really love to learn how to make small incense sticks or cones, especially now that winter is coming.

I have read a bit online about how to do this using tragacanth or arabic gum, but I haven't tried it yet. Has anyone actually done this? I would really love to hear more about tips and tricks, method and such. I really want to make incense sticks or cones that will burn nicely and evenly. I also want to make sure that I am not using anything that might be toxic.

Lucky Mojo sells a self lighting incense that does not need charcoal to burn it. It works very well and is not overly smoky. You can also crack a window after burning it to limit the smoke. I also sometimes using a ceiling fan to move the air. As for making I do not have experience with that. I hope to see some post that may help with that for you.

All the incense products sold by LM are good to use. The type of incense used should corespond to the work you are doing. If I am cursing i would use inflammutory, or crossing, jinx, destruction. If I am doing love work I may use come to me, fiery love, love me. If I am cleansing I may use uncrossing, blessing, jinx killer. If I am doing spiritual work, such as alter work I may use a resin blend, or one that meets my spiritual desire. Many workers use the incense, oil and powders. Incense carries the prayer, it also is a sweet aroma to God, it pleases the spirit, oil is used to dress physical items that, powder is dusted on items that oil would not work on, used to sprinkle in a yard, foot track, or on candles. You can use the products combined or alone. I suggested in the alter topic, as you are just getting started with an alter work area to consider buying an incense that address: attraction, repealing, cursing and luck. this way you can use them with various workings. As time progresses expand into more options to increase your knowledge and experience. The best way to learn is to take the item and interact with it.

One thing I have learned is that incense is sometimes easier to mix with dirt than sachet powders. The scent and herbs are there, but the colors are duller and blend into the ground better. ConjureMan Ali mentions on the Lucky Mojo Radio Show burning incense and scattering the ashes mixed with dirt for footprint magic, which is great idea too. So incense powder is more than just .... incense.

The way to use the incense powder is to make several cones out of the contents of the packet and burn them individually. There is no telling how long it would take to burn all of the incense at once. I imagine it would be very smoky to do so, when you would not overwhelm yourself or your space with smoke if you burned smaller cones.

Hi everyone,

I read a long time ago about using tobacco with a skull candle to "speak" to your target. I finally got the tobacco powder and I was wondering if I could use it with any candle? and perhaps a honey jar one?

I want to get a friend to hurry with contacting me (I know he will, it's just taking time...), and I have a honey jar for him already.
If I can do it with a regular 4'' candle, would white or orange be better for this? And shall I also use oils? (like Mercury, Attraction, Magnet, etc...?)

The idea with tobacco is you are puffing it into the face of a skull candle which represents the person, you are then making them think of what you are saying and doing. You can do the same thing with any of the lucky mojo incenses they sell, wave or gently blow the smoke into the face of the skull candle or photo as you state your petition. Yes a taper or chime candle can be used as well, but you do lose the physical element of having a skull in front of your face that you are talking to. You can use any color that seems to fit best, yellow communication, white general, purple to dominate. Many workers dress the candles in oil after it is inscribed with a petition such as : John Doe Contact Jane doe .. then dust it with powder, this is double dressing a candle.

So is it possible for the incense to completely catches on fire? I was burning my Van Van incenses to drive away an evil jinn, and I had the incense in a small mountain on top of the small incense burning plate. After a while, there was this ball of fire that is the size of the complete circumference of the plate. The fire had a blue and white tint to it, there was no smoke to the fire as well. This fire also didn't burn any of the incenses, it just flared up for a couple seconds and went away, resuming normal incense burning.

Incense can burn differently according to how you're using it, how much of it you use, and the quality of the charcoal on which you burn it. I wouldn't read too much into it. Would you all forgive what is possibly a ridiculous question, as I’ve never worked with incense before? Would LM incense work with those pretty backflow incense burners? You know, the kind that makes the smoke flow down like a waterfall? The ones I’m looking at seem to use a cone shape on top of a cylinder... like a crayon-shape. Is that some special kind of stick or could I do that?

I don't have one so I couldn't tell you for sure. I don't think it would work. The cylinder is probably hollow with nothing on top to keep the loose incense from just falling through. The cones they use for the back flow are hard packed and probably a certain size to stay on top.

I am not positive and have yet to look at all the parts up close but this is just my theory. Some are very pretty though!

Update: I managed to find a YouTube video about how they work...it said the cones for backflow burners use an incense that makes heavier smoke than normal incense so that the smoke flows down and not up, so there’s my answer!
